The Land Rover Defender is an off-road vehicle produced under this name by the British manufacturer, Land Rover, since 1991. However, the vehicle is the direct heir of the first Land Rover that made its debut in 1948. The first prototype was built by the British automaker in 1947 and it was designed for the army. This iconic car was improved over the years and it has been known for generations as a national treasure.

LAND ROVER SERIES 1 80" 1949 1600cc SERIES ONE
Sellers Comments - This auction is for a 1949 Ring-Pull Series One 80" Land Rover. It has just undergone a full ground-up restoration through our workshops and needs a little work to complete. These jobs include: Sourcing and fitting a new set of seats Sourcing and fitting a new Tilt New doors (or restoration of the ones supplied) Sourcing and fitting the air cleaner pipe It has an original 1600cc side-valve 161 engine and an overdrive fitted and is running and driving. It has a tilt frame and windscreen. Resprayed in Pastel green it really does look the business. It is running, driving and stopping. It still needs fettling so if you're not proficient with the spanners, this car is probably not for you. Lots of time and new parts have been put into this restoration and the owner has decided to focus on another project so this one has to go to make room. It is priced very reasonably considering what these cars are making right now. If the new owner wishes for us to fit the new parts and finish any other work required then we can negotiate that. We can also deliver for £1.50 a mile Re-listed because the (zero rated) bidder changed his mind! Please,no more time-wasters. A deposit will be required to secure the car once the auction is completed - CAVEAT EMPTOR!!
