Sellers Comments - 1976 Series 3 Land Rover Lightweight 12V Petrol correctly registered as Historic vehicle ( zero tax and cheap to insure). Although now in army guise she is actually ex Strike Command RAF Leuchars as per military reg number and copy of RAF service record. There is still RAF blue/grey paint under the bonnet! A good combination of a classic vehicle with sensible modifications as follows:- parabolic springs - Ashcroft transmission transfer gearing - X engineering disc handbrake - free wheeling hubs - recent alternator - recent new clutch and exhaust - spare wheel carrier on rear - Halogen headlights - recent canvas roof - 2 map lights and interior lights and clock - laminated screens - recent new top bulkhead (rare and expensive) - electronic distributor - Zeus front disc brake conversion - high torque starter motor - sony radio in cubby box - rear roll cage - webber carburettor - electric fuel pump - rear seat benches - locking doors two keys. Vehicle is a 40 year old military lightweight Land Rover don't expect modern motoring. Has had some welding to the the chassis in the past but all solid. Also included - two spare half doors with locks and keys (this allows the vehicle to be fully open with no windows the doors are match painted to the vehicle) - bimini cover - fume curtain - union jack front cover on the front as shown - spare battery. The Land Rover drives well with no jumping out of gear. Details in this listing are correct to best of my knowledge. Please ask any questions via eBay and you are welcome encouraged and advised to view before the end of auction. Please remember you bid to buy, not to view afterwards!
The Land Rover Defender is an off-road vehicle produced under this name by the British manufacturer, Land Rover, since 1991. However, the vehicle is the direct heir of the first Land Rover that made its debut in 1948. The first prototype was built by the British automaker in 1947 and it was designed for the army. This iconic car was improved over the years and it has been known for generations as a national treasure.

Series 2A Lightweight (Half Ton 88”) Land Rover with 200tdi engine, Tax exempt.
Sellers Comments -
Original military reg. number 26 RN 89 (think that makes it Royal Navy?)
This is RHD No 1321, I understand only 1893 RHD and 1096 LHD of these Land Rovers were built so it is a very rare vehicle especially in this condition.
Very good chassis
Very good bulkhead
Very straight bodywork
Hardly any rust
Metallic brown paintwork - looks very good.
Usual military lightweight spec, e.g. strengthened front and rear axles, front and rear military bumpers, twin fuel tanks (but only one currently piped in), 2 piece tailgate etc....
Tax exempt
Just passed an MOT 31st July 2017
Cheap to insure only costing me £70 a year fully comp for 3,000 miles.
5 almost new 7.50 Goodyear G90 Tyres on military split rims.
Good Exmoor hood with roll up sides.
It has the following upgrades
Discovery 200tdi engine that runs very well still with turbo and intercooler fitted. Looks like a nice conversion. It is more powerful and more economical than the standard engine.
Originally it had 2 1/4 (2286cc 4 cylinder) Petrol engine. I have a complete spare 2286cc petrol engine that is available to the winning bidder for an additional £200 if you would like to make it more original.
High ratio Range Rover type (3.5) diffs – these enable it to cruse at 70mph
Body mounted role bar
Rocky mountain parabolic springs
Pro Comp Shock absorbers
LWB Brakes with servo
Kenlow fan
Fairy Free Wheel Hubs
Front seat belts
Defender door mirrors
High back seats etc…
These mods make it more usable especially if you are thinking of it as a daily drive without losing any of its unique nature.
Remember it is 45 years and I am selling it as seen without any guarantee.
Viewing and any inspection welcome and encouraged.
The V5 is in my name.

Land Rover Lightweight Tax exempt and MOT till Feb 2018 & Overdrive
Sellers Comments - Lightweight Land Rover with Overdrive 1971, out of MOD service in 1986, Tax exempt, MOT till Feb 2018. Great runner. Recently painted (roller) British Military BS380 desert sand as I liked the look, few bits n bobs of painting to finish Her here n there such as inside doors and a bit inside and I have plenty of paint left, I may do it if I get a sunny spell and spare hour. Completely undersealed a few weeks ago, new rear shocks, new rear exhaust, replaced top bulk head with a rock solid one and new bolts. I purchased the heritage certificate from the Royal Logistics Corp Museum to show all its MOD history, having served in 59th Royal Commandos and Ordinance to name a few. Has all original ID plates and military number present. Great little Landy, I drive it with roof off and its a real head turner but I do have a full tilt sticks set and canvas hood and also a truck cab for when its colder included in sale Also a spare set of wide wheels if you like that look. I replaced doors with solid ones. Has a few other spares such as door tops (one is brand new). Has all the usual Land Rover chassis patch's and patina as remember it is an old vehicle. In regular weekend use. Viewing welcome and encouraged as she does need a few little bits n bobs to do such as door seals to refit and a bit of painting but suggest you view or spe ak to me on phone to help you understand details. Lost my storage area so no room for her now and my shift patterns changing at work soon so I wont get time to tinker and pop up the Peak District. Give me a ring and I will answer questions and may take a sensible offer as it needs a few small jobs cash on collection

Classic Land Rover Series 3 Lightweight 12v GS
Sellers Comments When I bought this it had a Ford 2.5 York diesel fitted but I got fed up wearing Amplivox when I was driving so I put in a very smooth running petrol engine. I know it is a 3mb and it should have a 5mb but I couldn't give up this engine. According to the B Card this one spend a number of years in storage at VSD and then served with 39 Inf Bde and 11 UDR. It is clear from the holes in every panel where the workshops bolted the macaroon to the bodywork that she was once a Mini Pig. I don't mind the holes as it shows every panel is original. It has the benefit of Fairey overdrive I have replaced the following with new: Alternator Starter Distributor Water pump All hoses Both manifolds Stainless Steel exhaus All shockers All brake slaves All brake shoes All pipes Brake master Clutch slave HD Clutch New rear seats Seat belts All floor and gear rubbers all new engine and gearbox mounts Carb All new door seals. Two NOS doors from Cyprus (£600 collected on holiday) Door tops and window runners with new locks Handbrake lock Electric cooling fan Head Gasket replaced. Saw that pistons were like new after a deck Front bumper and bumperettes All new bolts where required Battery Underwing mud shields all replaced Sourced rear and under bonnet too boxes Extra loud Italian horn Even moved the number plate back to it's original location! Everything works with the exception of the heater. It does work just the five way switch has me beat! Since the pics were taken I have replaced the tub floor and all three tub cross members. I have and will fit the car tie down hoops too. Front and rear propshafts taken off and cleaned with new gaiters although I saw today when I returned from a 100 mile trip out that the front one is ripped so I will throw in a new one Both tanks were taken off, cleaned inside and out and painted with new mount hardware Chassis is excellent. Has had new outriggers and new rear cross panel. Air vent excellent. lower Bulhead has had repairs in the past Tyres are excellent (4) I have done loads more to this Lightweight which I love because I passed my test on one in 1975 and drove one on Police duties as an MP in Sennelager, BAOR for two years.

FIRST REGISTERED 1985 AND LOOKS TO BE A 1978/9 MODEL RUNS AND DRIVES GOOD WITH 3.5 DIFFS, MICHELIN XZL 7.50X16 TYRES AND FAIREY FREEWHEELING HUBS, THE BRAKES WORK BUT WOULD NEED A LOOK AT. THE CANVAS HOODSTICKS ARE NEW BUT THE CANVAS ITSELF IS SHOT. MOT DOCUMENTATION BACK TO 2007 WHEN IT HAD COVERED 58543MILES NOW SHOWING 70684, SEEMS GENUINE. AS USUAL THE VENT PANEL HAS QUITE BAD CORROSION AND WOULD NEED WORK. THE REST OF THE CAR IS SOLID AND I WOULD BE HAPPY TO PUT 12 MONTHS MOT ON IT AT EXTRA COST IF THAT IS WHAT YOU NEEDED. BUT I SEE IT AS A LITTLE WINTER PROJECT TO DO THE PANEL THEN PERHAPS A RE-PAINT IN NATO GREEN AND A NEW CANVAS.
