However, the vehicle is the direct heir of the first Land Rover that made its debut in 1948. The first prototype was built by the British automaker in 1947 and it was designed for the army. This iconic car was improved over the years and it has been known for generations as a national treasure.

Land Rover Defender Blind Spot Mirror RH - MUD UK - DA6550R The MUD Defender Blind Spot Mirror is the latest innovative Defender product to come from the MUD design team. Working closely with one of Europe's leading mirror manufacturers, MUD has created a retrofit mirror for the Land Rover Defender that incorporates a wide angle convex mirror to eliminate potentially dangerous blind spots. The Blind Spot Mirror function offers a huge improvement in road safety, making lane changing manoeuvres safer whether you're in slow or fast moving traffic. Mirrors are sold in Right-hand and Left-hand configurations. The convex section is fixed and not adjustable. The surface area of the XL Defender Mirror Head measures 245 x 140 (mm) compared with the standard mirror glass area of 198 x 124 (mm). The mirror area of the MUD Blind Spot mirror is 173mm x 127mm, and the convex section is 52mm x127mm. The MUD Blind Spot mirror is a straight swap for the original Defender door mirrors, using the same fixing method as the factory mirrors and even retain the same styling as the original Defender door mirror to ensure an OE factory appearance. The MUD Blind Spot Mirror is housed within a larger mirror head that in addition to providing a larger reflective surface area than the standard Defender mirror glass, features the convex wide angle mirror glass. The mirror insert can be flipped through 180 degrees within the mirror head so the wide-angle can be positioned at the top or the bottom of the mirror. The MUD Blind Spot Mirror has been fully homologated, E marked and carries full EU Type Approval. We can also supply the mirrors etched with "Objects in Mirror Are Closer Than They Appear" text to comply with North American Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard legislation. Replacement is straightforward. The Defender XL door mirror uses the same clamp fixing at the standard mirror head.

1966 Landrover 88 Series 2A And a 1978 Series 3 For Spares!
Sellers Comments - For sale my landrover series 88 2a project with most of a series 3 for parts. I had great intentions to build a running 2a for the farm to get us out in the winter snow but it has never happened! Time to admit defeat and pass it on!
I trailered both the 2a and the 3 to the carpak and after an hour or so got both of them running and drove them to there resting places! They have not been run or turned over for a few years now. Both will need taking away on trailer with a winch You will need a 4 wheel drive to tow them from where they are now.
What you get?
A 1966 2a that at some point has had a refurb and a series 3 bulkhead Installed and series 3 wings not sure about the shell! The guy i got it off had just fitted a recon gear box from ebay but never got it back on the road! When i drove it it ran well and all gears seemed to work,the only problem driving it was the brakes where binding. I did get them all freed up but that was two years ago now. A year later i bought a 1978 series 3 for spares its all there apart from the roof which i sold on ebay. It also had an overdrive which i sold too. Both the 2 and 3 have free wheeling hubs and have the 2 1/4 petrol engine in them. I also have a box of new light lenses. Who ever rebuilt the series2 made it look like a mod version! But it is not. I would recommend any one who is serious about bidding to view it first! This is a project for someone with time on there hands! The the chassis on the 2a has been refurbished when it was rebuilt many moons ago but will now need attention again most of it is solid apart from the rear bumper section. I have the floor panels in the back took them off to fit a new clutch slave unit.the bulkhead is pretty rottern low down by the floor this would need chopping out and plating. The series 3 chassis is totally rotted ! But you could salvage some parts off it.
