Landrover Series 2a - 1969 crossover 6 cylinder barn find

Sellers Comments - Here we have for sale a very nice example of a 1969 crossover with Maltese grill - these vehicles are becoming increasingly hard to find in this condition with this great patina. A great resortation project for someone to undertake. The vehicle itself will probably warrant from a new chassis but is not beyond repair from a competent welder. In whole the body work is very straight there are some dings and dates but she is 47 years old. She will need to be trailered away. Sellers Comments - Landrover series 2a 1968/69..tax exempt.

I got this for a job i did so I know next to nothing about it apart from what you see in the pictures.

It is pretty rusty but it's a million years old.The seats look ok though.

The bulkhead does need repair before i get asked that one.

The engine does turn over but i haven't managed to start it yet.this is obviously spares or repairs so you will need to trailer it away.

It is what it is ,a rusty tax-exempt vehicle that some landy nut will love or a source of parts for someone.

I have repaired and put these back on the road in much worse condition but i have neither the time or enthusiasm for it now

only bid if you are able to take it within a week i will not store it.Chassis number is on a plate courtesy of a previous owner on the inner wing

1969 Series 2a SWB Land rover

For sale a tidy Historic vehicle (no RFL required) just gone through an MOT after a minor renovation work carried out Rebuilt tub Chassis welding top of (chassis between tub) Chassis cleaned down rustproofed,re-painted, and re-coated in protector Cab tidy up, new Gauges, seats and seat belts Note from photo a working heater! with ducting to screen. Engine oil system flushed and filter changed Engine cooling system flushed and refilled with inhibitor All  of the transmission drained and flushed refilled New wheel bearings (Front ) Tyres at 85% (all same make) In summary, to finish of, it just requires a good paint job, currently there are no rusty, seized nuts and bolts, no corrosion in body or chassis. I cant say if the mileage is correct but the vehicle as been a airfield tug since 2010

Here for sale is a 1969 Land Rover Series 2a 109" Long wheel base Hard top, 2.25 Petrol. The body work is in good condition having been coach painted by the previous owner in the correct Land-Rover Green, there are some age related dents/marks. The interior is in good condition, in keeping with the overall look of the vehicle. Runs and drives as it should, having been well cared for by the last owner. Rear bench seats with sliding windows and hard top. Weber Carburettor conversion carried out with later engine fitted. Enthusiast owned with large history folder including receipts for work carried out and MoT certificates. Bulkhead is solid, MoT until November 4th 2016, tax exempt, classed as a historic vehicle. £3395 ono.

Land Rover Series 2a - 1969 Tax Exempt

969 Tax Exempt Series 2a Land Rover as a non-runner. It was a working vehicle up until 2012 where it unfortunately dropped a rod and made a hole in the block. It currently has the 2 1/4 Petrol Engine so a diesel upgrade might be the way to go. I had every intention of restoring it but I no longer have the time which is a real shame and it has been parked up since 2012. It passed the last MOT after a couple of small things needed correcting. I recall one of the front shocks needing changing, one of the brakes was a bit sticky and it needed a new sidelight lense. Might have been a couple of more small other things, certainly no welding or such like. Also worth mentioning that I have changed the 5 or 6 ball joints on the steering and this did help the handling. Being completely honest this is not a showroom model and definitely needs some TLC, but could be restored or just made road worthy again. I have had a crawl underneath and cant see and areas that need attention, however don’t hold me to that. It does seem pretty solid overall and there has clearly been work carried out on it before. Please bear in mind this is nearly a 50 year old vehicle that has worked most of its life and It will not handle like a modern Defender! I have tried to be as honest as I can and I the pictures give a good representation of its condition. Before it was parked up it was working but would benefit from some attention. I have the V5 Document in my name and possession. Due to relocating I ideally need this collected by the 19/04/2016. I am based just near Cardiff and would suggest a trailer would be needed to collect. I cannot offer any delivery services. Not shown in the pictures is another wheel/tyre and the seats that it come with when I purchased it. I will but these in the back ready for you. Sellers Comments

Land Rover series 2A - 1969

Land Rover Series 2A, Has a series 2 style front. The land rover was purchased over 2 years back a rolling chassis with body. This was my first car at 17, i had been driving it on the road for a year, ive rebuilt it from chassis up with the help of my family. Over £4000 has been spent in total. Tax exempt Historic vehicle, 1969 registration. Interior and Body. The body and bulkhead have no corrosion. Paint work could do with touching up, otherwise in good order. Chassis is in good shape but does have a couple of patches, nothing drastic. The chassis would benefit from waxoil or painting. The dashboard was made by myself from aluminum sheet, the original will be supplied along with the other dash panels if you desire to restore. Has a Smith's Heater fitted, had a recondition matrix fitted which cost £150 to be done. Has a pair of Britpart deluxe front seats along with seat belts and two rear bench seats. All around the bulkhead and floor in the front has been sound deadened and carpeted.

1969 Series 2a. 88" 2.5 diesel. MoT Nov 15. Owned for 8 years, previous owner 16 years, history from 1991. Classic Land Rover that looks great as it is. Minimal cosmetic TLC needed if you want pristine, but not necessary. It needs a new wind screen wiper motor (which recently failed, £50 on eBay), driver's side internal door handle and it jumps out of 1st and 2nd gear on occasion (it did this when i bought it) but not if the gear stick is held and it has not bothered me in 8 years.

It is fitted with Land Rover's updated 2.5 litre diesel engine (Freight Rover 300 Series) that was introduced in 1984, i have the manual/workbook (there is lots on line about this type of engine in Land Rovers ). I use it daily / weekly and i am only selling due to job move, i would not be selling otherwise or change it in any way. I have only 4700 local miles over the last 8 years.

This Land Rover would suit a first time Land Rover buyer or experienced Land Rover person who with minimal time and effort will increase its value, i wish i could keep it. I have had several offers and have received a lot of feedback with reference to the price, as such I now know that it would be worth the price I was originally asking for 3 listings ago if the gearbox was sound. So i am relisting at 'buy it now' price of £2000, no offers. (She owes me more than this!)

This landy has now been sold on three occasions to people who have not paid, please do not bid unless you are a genuine buyer.
