The Land Rover Defender is an off-road vehicle produced under this name by the British manufacturer, Land Rover, since 1991. However, the vehicle is the direct heir of the first Land Rover that made its debut in 1948. The first prototype was built by the British automaker in 1947 and it was designed for the army. This iconic car was improved over the years and it has been known for generations as a national treasure.

Landrover Series 3 LWB - 109 ex military
Sellers Comments -
Welcome to the auction of my 'baby' , bought this in a very rundown condition about 18months ago (mid-life crisis etc etc) and have spent a small fortune and time bringing her back to life .
She has now become a 'weekend' car taking the dogs to the beach or going to the garden centre and the only reason I am selling her is to find a new project and maybe one a bit faster!
From research she was first registered in 1984 and spent 10 years at RAF Brize Norton before being released from service and since then has had various owners up and down the country .Current mileage shows 22,000 but would obviously suspect that is 122,000 - who knows ??Last year I did around 800miles and from old MOT history she has only done a few thousand in the past 6 or 7 years.
109 (Salisbury axle) truck cab , new soft top and hoops , sprayed olive green by myself with the union jack , bodywork is by no means straight (don't think there is a straight panel on her) but all are in good condition and presentable and the various dings/dents do not detract from the general appearance.
Put good defender seats in to try and make it a bit more comfortable but still have the original seats / frames /runners which I refurbed prior to buying the defender ones - these are in excellent condition and are included.
Spent a lot of time on the chassis - all new outriggers (except the small rear suspension ones which were in good order) , rear quarter and front dumb irons appear to have already been replaced quite recently but not by me . I removed all the old flaking underseal , sanded , cleaned , coated all areas with genolite and painted and reundersealed where necessary . The 'military' crossmember behind the gear box has been patched and I would have replaced but I could not source - it is however, in good order . New floors , refurbing all supports while removed . New door tops , bottoms refurbed - all now in good order . No rust to door pillars or front bulkhead (not that I can find) . Couple of patches to footwells but do not require replacement , new inner arches.
Twin fuel tanks (all refurbed) , fuel system renewed , cooling system refurbed /renewed , steering joints / arms are new , exhaust new , electrics all working and various new bits , new shocks , new pads etc etc - list goes on and on . Never had to do much to the engine and gearbox itself as all works as it should - just new fluids / service items . 4WD all works as it should Steel rims are in good condition , tyres have minor surface cracking to walls in places but are in good order
Long MOT - was done about 2 months ago
Since I have had it , it has always been garaged and hasn't been out in the rain - hasn't been near mud since I got it.
I have really enjoyed doing this and if it doesn't sell I will keep it another summer
It is not a 'new' car or a professionally restored one and you should expect ongoing maintenance , it is also a landrover and drives like one ! So , unless you have driven one before do not expect a comfy , quiet ride - the radio is for traffic lights only .
Viewing is recommended - I am near Canterbury , Kent

Land Rover Series 1 LWB Pickup 107 Project * NEW CHASSIS * V5 present * COMPLETE
Sellers Comments/Entry Welcome to this auction for a Series 1 107 Cab restoration project. The Series 1 is complete but it has been stripped down to a rolling chassis and the body panels are boxed up in good overall condition. The engine, gearbox and steering are all present. The engine turns and has compression but has not been fired up for some time. An unblemished V5 with original registration is present. This Landy has at some stage in its life been transformed into a 109 however the VIN no. confirms this was originally a 107. As you can see from the photos it has a rotten chassis but an opportunity to return it to a 107 is made possible by a refurbished fully galavanised 107" chassis imported from Australia. This auction is for the complete project, the chassis is NOT available to buy separately. Viewing is possible by prior appointment only near King's Lynn in Norfolk. More photos are available on request if required. Serious enquiries only, no time wasters please.

It has 42,000 miles showing which is believed genuine
As the pictures show this is by no means showroom condition
There is no mot with this vehicle
It was last mot'd October 2015 when it failed & has not been done or used since
It has been welded previously & can clearly be seen where it was done although not a bad job
The engine is very good was driven 50 miles here with no problem
The gearbox is good & changes through the gears with no issues
Axle is fine with no whines
The brakes just do not exist, the peddle hits the floor & it doesn't stop!!!
There are no indicators working either
The vehicle is a 1979 but shows registered on HPi as 1991 due to being Ex Military
This is an easy restoration for someone that knows what they are doing

1972 Series III Land Rover LWB 109"
Sellers - Comments I'm not quite sure if I should sell my Landy or not, so I though I'd let ebay make the final choice for me, if it sells it sells, if it doesn't, it doesn't, the catalyst being an illogical urge to get another 2 door Range Rover. It has been owned from new by two farms, both in Yorkshire (one at Pollington, from new and the next in Melbourne from May 1979). It had sat in a barn for around 9 years until the farm was cleared and I bought it from a general dealer just as it was removed from storage. All I had to do to get it back on the road was to rebuild the brakes (all new cylinders)and clean out the fuel system. It has subsequently had a new fuel tank.

Land Rover Series 3 LWB hardtop LHD petrol ex military MOT failure.
Sellers Comments - This Land Rover is I believe a 1978 vehicle, first registered in 1992 when demobbed (not sure which Service) it was bought by our Shoot as a gun bus. It has been serviced but I don't have a service history, it is not a cherished family owned vehicle. It failed it's MoT on corrosion in the rear crossmember and out-riggers but the rest of the chassis looks pretty sound. It starts and runs fine. It has done hardly any miles since we bought it but I cannot remember what the mileage is and couldn'y verify it anyway! I think the pictures speak for themselves but am happy to take more or answer any questions. As an MoT failure it will need to be collected by trailer/transporter.

Early Land Rover Series 1 One 109 LWB 2.0 Diesel. Tax Exempt. Chassis Number 27! Very rare, early diesel fitted with original OHV engine
In 1957 Land Rover launched their new 2.0 over head valve (OHV) diesel engine, first fitted to the 109" chassis.
This vehicle is chassis number 27 of this type, with the build finishing on 23rd August 1957. This makes this LWB series 1, one of only 153 produced in 1957.
This new engine marked an important turning point in Land Rover powertrains and saw Land Rover move away from side valves to overhead valves.
Despatched from Solihull to Dorchester Land Rover dealer
'Tilleys LTD' on 28th August 1957, this Land Rover retains the original Dorset
registration 'LFX 271' which will also be included in the sale.
This home market 109 inch vehicle was ordered in basic trim
and is the 26th production 109 2.0 Diesel to leave the production line. The
truck is chassis number 27 to account for the first prototype vehicle in 1956.
Today, LFX 271 is in fantastic condition mechanically and
wears the original Bermabright bodywork with pride.
Being a working vehicle, the tailgate was swapped to a heavy
duty item very early in its life and has been maintained very well indeed.
Recently the cab and truck bed have been removed and the
chassis repaired where required by a Land Rover specialist. The repaired
chassis was then painted and the original bodywork reattached meaning the
original wear and tear remains, a desirable feature from an aesthetic
viewpoint.
All the brake lines have been renewed and the brakes and
handbrake are in great working order.
As a result of the remedial work, LFX 271 will be solid for
many years to come while retaining it's natural patina.
Inside you will find the original Smiths heater, with the
original fuel tank mounted under the seat.
Specified from new, this 109 was fitted with an optional
hand controlled throttle, which is also present.
The perspex windows have recently been replaced, as have the
cab floors.
The bulkhead has had repairs to make structurally sound but
will need additional work on the top rail to take to a show standard.
New bulkhead vent seals have been fitted but vent opening
handles will need to be reattached.
Before putting LFX 271 up for sale, local Land Rover
specialists Brownchurch checked the vehicle over for mechanical gremlins and
gave it the thumbs up. Gearbox, transfer box and original engine are all in
great working order. The engine smokes a little until warm but once up to
temperature is just fine. Being almost 60 years old, i think this is
forgivable.
The rear differential will need replacement in the long term
despite being ok for the mean time. These are plentiful and easy/cheap to come
by and a relatively simple procedure to fit.
The car is fitted with original steel wheels and slightly
larger period cross ply tyres which help with higher speed cruising.
Being Tax and MOT exempt the vehicle is able to be driven
away if you wish. Despite MOT exemption this 109 has undergone an MOT less than
12 months ago to ensure it is fit to be driven on UK roads, which it passed
with flying colours.
If you are into series Land Rovers you will be aware of
their rough and ready nature, and lack of motorway speed. This vehicle retains
this charm and is also not modified for seat belts, because of this you may
wish to arrange for it to be transported long distance. I am happy to
accommodate and help with any pick up arrangements you may require.
A heritage certificate is included with the vehicle which
confirms it's identity and origin. Along with this is a specification build
sheet and copy of the original Series 1 Land Rover sales brochure.
I had intended to make this vehicle period correct and show
ready, but unfortunately a lack of time means i have to move this fantastic
truck on.
This is an incredible opportunity to own a super rare
version of the very sought after Series 1 Land Rover which needs very little
work to make perfect. A very easy project for someone who has time to complete
and once done, will be virtually unique and sure to appreciate in value as more
and more people become interested in classic Land Rovers.

Land Rover Series 1 LWB 109 - For Sale
Been in the family since bought brand new in 1956.
Original engine, totally rebuilt 2 years ago by a top, fussy, retired Rover mechanic (old school) and done less than 200 miles since.

Starts first time in all weather and runs like a well oiled
pocket watch. Perfectly solid bulkhead and chassis and I can't see evidence of
any previous welding or patching either.
£1000's been spent on it over the past 5 years. New wiring
loom throughout, fuel tank, tyres, battery, brake master cylinder, brake
cylinders and pipes, canvas top, full engine re-build, petrol pump, etc, etc,
etc. Original number plate included. 2118 HK.
Working Semaphore indicators and old horn.
It was hand painted 5 years ago and that is showing signs of
wear.
Please click here to see a video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_uvs8MS5rs
Beautiful to drive and will be sorely missed. A real beauty.
Sadly, ill health brings about the sale.
Please feel free to ask any questions or to view and test
drive. Cleared cheque only and within 7 days of end of auction.

Land Rover Series 3 109 Military EX M.O.D. Lwb
Land Rover series 3 109. its a long wheelbase ex military.
comes with the merlin report from the army telling you what she was used for
which was light work these are 12v as standard, it a nice motor and it runs
very very well. only 1 previous owner low millege It has a great gearbox great
engine bodywork is great original camo paintjob working heater high/low box and
4wd all work fine tyres are all good including spare solid chassis has had
repair in the past on a outrigger solid bulkhead
MOT until APRIL 2016
seatbelts in the front four bench seats in the back with
seat cushions apart from one is missing
tow hitch and electrics, the electrics are working
new gear box 3 years ago
Oil cooler fitted every thing on this car is original also
has infa red lights twin petrol tanks
She is a nice solid motor and i will miss it, i love these
petrol engines and i will be sad to see her go . please bear in mind that this
is a classic and not a super comfortable and plush modern car. they bounce and
they rattle, they are simple and basic but all the more rugged for it. so don't
expect a truck with all the mod cons as they weren't invented when this was
made. this is a solid example of a proper series though and nothing rattles
that would have done in the first place.
feel free to ask questions and i will get back to you as
soon as possible.
sensible offers will be considered but please, no time
wasters.
viewings are welcomed from serious buyers.
I do have it advertised else were,
I reserve the right to sell else where.

1955 LWB Land rover pick up. Sold as a none runner as it has
been in storage for many years. Chassis is not too bad and could be welded by
any competent man with the correct skills. The bulk head would in my opinion
need to be replaced. As you can see the body is very nice and straight. The
pick up cab and the rear tub are also good. i was told that the engine is 2L
and it is the correct one for this model .It has been painted at some stage but
the log book states green. ( V5 in my name and all correct.) It will make a
great start for a very sound project that will when complete be worth a
considerable amount of money. the LWB models are very rear and sort after
looking at the side and head lights its possible they are the original lucas
ones. . The number plate has been valued at £1500 but really would be a shame
to remove it. You will need a trailer to remove it but it will run free on all
wheels . I can assist with loading. Please contact me for any more information.
I was going to restore this but unfortunately circumstances have changed so i
must part with it. Cash on collection only please. I have this advertised else
where so it may be removed at any time. Thanks for looking. If you need any
more information contact jeff on 07836 692839.
