Land Rover Series 2A - 1967

Sellers Comments -  Reluctantly I am selling my much loved Land Rover Series 2A. Had many £££ spent by the previous owner and by me over the last few years. Galvanised Chassis with bolt out cross member Parabolic Springs with pro-comp shock absorbers 200 TDi engine Series 3 Gearbox (so full synchro, makes it very useable) Overdrive Discovery 1 differentials so it keeps up with modern traffic no problem Reconditioned Steering box Original Smiths Heater MOT`d until November 2017 Free TAX V5 is in my name. New Battery Fitted last month. Serviced and oil change November 2016 Also included with this sale are: Spare Series 3 Gearbox Full set of Spare wheels with more road friendly tyres fitted with plenty of tread left. Enough spare parts to keep you going for a long time! This is not the prettiest Land Rover but is a real wolf in sheeps clothing. Goes really well, brakes are standard but will lock up without too much effort. Would benefit from a bit of TLC with the body and paintwork but was built to use. Underneath is a very solid reliable motor. NO overseas bidders. Any bidders with less than 10 positive feedback will be removed. Thanks for looking.

All original documentation and service history. This vehicle has had one owner from new. Also is equipt with free locking wheels, Overdrive and a fully functional P.T.O. The vehicle is diesel type and starts and runs beautifully. You really need to view this vehicle to appreciate its originality, very few and far between in this condition.

Land Rover Series 2A 1967

Sellers Comments Vehicle has been owned by me for some 12 years, always garaged, and previous owner kept it garaged following complete overhaul. Full history going back to previous owners purchase early nineties. Two new half shafts fitted last month. The vehicle is in good condition for 50years old, other than the chassis that needs welding or new chassis to pass mot. The original engine has a recent battery, starts on the button and runs like a watch, it was fully serviced last year. Less than 7000 miles driven in last 27 years. Unfortunately I am not an "enthusiast" and have simply enjoyed using it now and again during summer months and now need the garage space.

1967 Land Rover Series 2a for sale.

Sellers Comments - It would make a great restoration project and would be worth thousands. The engine is currently not running (but im very sure it will run) because it has no distributor cap or HT leads, but otherwise is a very sound engine, gearbox and drive-train. It will require a new chassis as this one is very rusty, and the bulkhead is in similar condition, but could be patched up. All body panels are in good condition with no rust but some dents. The windscreen glass is out but comes with the car along with wheel wrenches etc(as you will see in one of the pictures).

  Good Points:
- Worth a lot when restored
- Great restoration project
- Has had various parts replaced recently
- engine, gearbox and axles all very sound
- no rust on body panels as they are aluminium

  Bad points:
- Needs new chassis and possibly bulkhead
- Haven't managed to get engine running because there are no HT leads etc

1967 Land Rover Series 2a 88inch 2 1/4 Petrol SWB Pickup £500 NO RESERVE

Sellers Comments - Welcome to my Auction for a Land Rover series 2a 1967 SWB I purchased this in 2009 and have not done anything with it, I was intending to completely strip and restore / overhaul to a usable everyday vehicle, however 7 years down the line I have realized this isn't going to happen its just sad to see the old girl deteriorating outside the house so reluctantly I have decided to part with her, she comes with current mot and obviously TAX EXEMPT (huge saving) Body work wise she is best described as tatty and functional,Doors need usual repairs, interior is basic and shabby seats are not original but functional, the engine seems fine to me and always starts OK (bit smoky initially) the bulk head could do with tidying and as for the chassis it has had welding in the past and is covered in some type of bitumen, the rear chassis has been replaced at some time,Heater has been bodged into engine bay and hot water pipes feed into cab, I replaced the fuel tank with a Brand new one in January, also the Solex carburetor was replaced (see photo) the only time I drive this is to the MOT station and around the block ! please study the pictures carefully and I would advise viewing before bidding (it's old and needs TLC), to be on the safe side I would advise trailering away as never driven over 5 miles at a time, (only when I initially collected the vehicle 45 miles away 7 years ago !) Does drive and seems to stop in a straight line ! Comes with the 4 spare tyres and a CRANKING HANDLE ! This may be a bargain and with a bit of time and effort should turn out a reliable Iconic vehicle Number Plates will be replaced with newer white and Yellow.

1967 Land Rover Series 2a 88" SWB Diesel, Tax Exempt, Overdrive Gearbox

Welcome to my auction for my old Land Rover SWB Diesel with and Overdrive Gearbox and Freewheel hubs. A very desirable specification series Land Rover that is awaiting restoration or refurbishment. I purchased the car a couple of years ago with all good intentions to restore it but, alas, life gets in the way and I have decided to spend my time restoring my 1967 Land Rover Dormobile instead. The vehicle has never run in my ownership but it was believed to be functioning when it was parked up. The overdrive gearbox is complete and fitted, which will certainly help keep the old girl a bit more relaxed when cruising the lanes. The freewheel hubs are fitted and rotate as they should. A truck cab is enhanced with the addition of a very agricultural home made truck bed cover. It may not be a pretty accessory but your Collie will not escape and, should a nuclear war break out, you could use it as a blast shelter! The chassis is pretty good and may only need localised repairs. The car is fairly complete but does have a series three 2 1/4 petrol bulkhead, dash and wings fitted. The bulkhead needs repairs in the usual places but is not a lost cause. The wiring loom will need work as it has been cut during replacement. The bulkhead and wings are just loosely assembled and will need securing before transport. I have not bolted it all on as the lucky new owner may well decide to source the correct series 2a bulkhead and front panels. The V5c is in my name, is present with the Land Rover and shows the Historic Vehicle taxation class. Basically, I consider this to be a sound basis for a restoration project and, whilst it is not roadworthy at present, it will make a fantastic and desirable classic Land Rover when it is completed. I had contemplated stripping it to sell the overdrive box, freewheel hubs and truck cab separately from the vehicle as it would undoubtedly make more money that way. However, I think this lovely old Land Rover deserves better than being scattered all over the country and you have ten months to get her back on the road for her 50th birthday!

Land Rover Series 2a 1967

Sellers Comments - We purchased "Audrey" in 2010 as a project classic for me and my then teenage daughter to have some fun with. Sadly now she is in her second year at University and does not have time to spend, so after many adventures and good times, not to mention a small fortune, it is time to pass her on. I will list as many parts as I can remember starting with the first items replaced and working my way up yo date.. here goes.. Fuel tank, completely re-built front axle and steering balls, exhaust, A-panels, floor panels/lower bulk head (see pictures), rebuilt 2.5 petrol defender engine, clutch, both props, brakes all round including drums, alternator conversion, halogen headlamps, electronic ignition, starter motor, steering relay, front chassis repairs, five new wheels and all terrain tyres, respray in satin olive...pause for breath.. new shocks, track rod ends, internal usb sockets x 2 for sat nav etc, Range Rover Classic diffs plus loads of bits and bobs that I cant remember. She runs perfect and has never let me down, cruises with modern traffic, about 60mph all day, has modern seats with Land Rover covers and runs on parabolic springs. Now, she is 49 years old and like me is showing expected wear and tear and has been kept with safety, reliability and performance in mind. We have been to several club rallies, including a 400 mile weekend to Fakenham Race coarse last year for the annual club get together with no issues, that said she is an old classic so please know what you are about to own before you bid. She looks clean and presentable with minor dents, the internal roof has had a lining removed so shows glue etc and the cab is used by me and the dogs but still clean enough, needs a weekend spent tidying but has been like that for many years. Please ask as many question as you need and yes I do have loads of photos over the years if you would like any shots in particular. I have, as you can see, spent a small fortune but I can honestly say she's been worth every penny and we will all miss her. If I had proper off road storage she would not be for sale. Tax free, and only about £100 to insure with Lancaster who have given her an agreed valuation of £6500 so grab an absolute bargain of an appreciating usable 4x4 classic before I change my mind. Please only bid to buy and yes, you are welcome to come and take a look, good luck.

Series 2a Land Rover 1967

Parting with my 2.25L Petrol 1967 Series 2a Land Rover. MOT'd until August 2016. Believed to be ex-military due to green paint in the wheel arches, twin fuel tanks, rear axle reinforcement and the vehicle originally being a ragtop roof variant. The Land Rover was first registered on 1/10/1967, making it tax exempt. I bought the vehicle in 2007 from a couple in Leicestershire where she drove the vehicle daily (a short distance to work) and he used the vehicle for shooting on the weekend (hence the checker plating on the wings). Under my ownership it has been used for jobs like collecting firewood and travelling in snowy weather. Total mileage is 83024 which appears genuine based on 6000 miles coming in the last 11 years, MOT evidence of this available.

Land Rover Series 2a 1967 -

Back in 1999 this vehicle, which was in daily use at the time, got stuck in reverse. It was pushed into the barn and has remained there untouched until now. I never got around to fixing it and the time has come to get rid of it. I can tell you that I fitted an unleaded head, overdrive, free wheeling hubs, electric fan and a lot of other new bits and pieces. The engine is original and was an excellent runner. The chassis is original so probably needs replacing by now. I have to state the obvious, so bear with me. You will not be able to drive this away and if you have any regard for other road users(not to mention the law) I hope you will not consider towing it away. I am more than willing to answer your queries so please contact me. Bottom line is that this vehicle is perfect for a restoration project or a loaded vehicle to break.

For Sale - Landrover Series 2a Petrol 1967 Unmolested, Original condition Delivery throughout the UK For Sale £2750

Sellers Comments

1967 Landrover Series 2a

This vehicle is a great example of a Series 2a, and an ideal base for a light restoration project. It hasn't been messed about with, modified or altered in any way, and remains 99% complete, making for an easy restoration. Some of the panels have had some paint over the years, but as i found out yesterday, it comes off very easily with a jet wash revealing the original paintwork, which actually looks in surprisingly good condition !

The chassis and bulkhead have really stood the test of time, and are in really good condition (see pics). The top corners, hinge areas & vents on the bulkhead are as solid as they come. The footwells are also in great condition, only requiring a small amount of welding in 2 x corners (see pics).

The chassis is in remarkable condition, and doesn't look like its had much done to it either. It does look like its had a rear cross member, and an outrigger, but apart from that it looks original. It certainly isn't the usual patch work quilt. I have included some pics, that give you a general idea of the overall condition of the chassis. I should imagine on closer inspection that there will be a few patches required, but there certainly won't be any major repairs to worry about.

The original engine and gearbox were working fine when it was parked up, but the previous owner had played with the idea of fitting a Tdi engine, and had started to remove hoses, etc, so is now no longer running. It is all still in situ, so reconnecting it all shouldn't be any major task.

The bodywork is very straight, considering how old this vehicle is, suggesting that it has probably had an easier life than most Landrovers of this age. Doors are in good condition, including the rear door and tail gate.

Interior………. There isn't much to talk of really ! The front seats need replacing. The rear has bench seats that are still in the original elephant hide covering. The dash and clocks are all original, and all look in good order.

Original axles, engine, gearbox, dash, steering wheel, body panels (excluding door tops), grill etc, etc.

Any questions, or for any further pics, do give me a call on:
