1954 Land Rover 107 Series 1 Recovery Truck

Sellers Comments
Landrover 107 Series 1 in original 1950's livery for Steel's of Cheltenham Rover and Wolseley main dealers.

Built 21st December 1954, it was dispatched to Mann Egerton of Norwich on 29th December where I think it was converted to a Recovery Truck using Mann Egertons own manufactured recovery equipment .
It was registered on 1st February 1955 whether it went straight to Steels of Cheltenham is unclear.

It has undergone an extensive rebuild by myself retaining original paintwork and sign writing where possible (it had been completely painted over with light blue paint which was painstakingly removed to reveal the original paint and sign writing)

It has a brand new Radfords galvanised bulkhead, The chassis was repaired where needed but was in very good order to start with.
The engine is not the original but is the correct spread bore 2ltr petrol of similar age which was rebuilt and runs perfectly.
The gearbox and both axles were rebuilt, the rear axle is from a later Series 2 which is a common upgrade from the fragile Series 1 rear axle.

In the rear is fitted an original Mann Egerton crane complete with support jacks on the rear cross member.
On the front is fitted a Mann Egerton Towing Ambulance with it's draw bar stored under the rear body through the PTO hole in the rear cross member.

I have fitted a later Series 1 recirculating ball steering box to make the steering less wayward and lighter, but will include the original box and Horn/Dip switch in the sale.

The 107 was featured in Land Rover Owner International Magazine April 2012.

This is a very unique vehicle that creates a lot of interest.

It has only covered 430 miles since I finished it in 2011 so its time for someone else to enjoy it.

Its is MOT and Tax exempt but has just passed an MOT which expires 01/05/2018.

The last picture is a period picture of a similar equipt 107 belonging to Mann Egerton.

Its located near Alton Hampshire GU34

Land Rover Series 1 LWB Pickup 107 Project * NEW CHASSIS * V5 present * COMPLETE

Sellers Comments/Entry Welcome to this auction for a Series 1 107 Cab restoration project. The Series 1 is complete but it has been stripped down to a rolling chassis and the body panels are boxed up in good overall condition. The engine, gearbox and steering are all present. The engine turns and has compression but has not been fired up for some time. An unblemished V5 with original registration is present. This Landy has at some stage in its life been transformed into a 109 however the VIN no. confirms this was originally a 107. As you can see from the photos it has a rotten chassis but an opportunity to return it to a 107 is made possible by a refurbished fully galavanised 107" chassis imported from Australia. This auction is for the complete project, the chassis is NOT available to buy separately. Viewing is possible by prior appointment only near King's Lynn in Norfolk. More photos are available on request if required. Serious enquiries only, no time wasters please.

1957 Land Rover Series 1 107 Station Wagon (running & with V5)

Relisted with V5 & age related plates (693 UYT - Taxed and MOT exempt). Also have sourced
a period centre bench seat. Also runs (was a dodgy battery lead in the end)! Great project needing minimal work
to make roadworthy - photos show areas needing attention! I need the space and funds for my other
projects. Can be driven for loading purposes - no pressure on brakes.

Rare Series 1 Station Wagon with a later 2.25L Petrol engine installed and is in the condition as per photos. Chassis and bulkhead are not rotten and are in remarkably good shape. Missing rear side facing seats (ones shown in pics are not part of the sale as they belong to another vehicle). Can be put on the road with very little work, but will take a fair bit of effort to make her look perfect! Heritage cert supplied - states this was originally green.

Open to reasonable offers
