Land rover series 1 - For SALE - £7,250.00 Buy it now

Sellers Comments -
Re advertised due to time wasters here and in Europe!!!!! 1956 series 1 lwb selling on behalf of a friend and customer this series 1 is in good condition for its age. the chassis has had work before looks like replacement rear cross member in past. the O/s chassis outrigger was replaced by me as it was rusted out due to a leaking brake master cylinder. the engine is good and was recently replaced as original had thrown a rod ( it took two years to find a decent replacement) this series 1 was originally owned by the royal navy and you can still see its original blue paint in places. the reason for sale is my customer had his 90 stolen and now needs to sell this to recoup funds. i must stress this does need some more work to get road worthy. the brake are not hydraulically connected as it has been retrofitted with a series 2 master cylinder and is not currently connected also none of the brakes have been checked in its time with me. SO PLEASE DON'T THINK YOU CAN TEST DRIVE IT!!! it run lovely. the electrics will need looking at as the lights don't seam to be connected. all in all it is a very genuine S1 andd would be lovely when finished. i have a massive history folder her with it to

Landrover Series 1 one 80 inch Tdi Land Rover early 1950 ex military Lights through grill rare narrow front springs

Sellers Comments -

Here we have my 1950 series one 80 inch, rare ex military model released from the army 26th July 1963 and only 6 owners including me since!

Firstly I would  like to say that I am not responsible for any of the modifications or the awful colour that this poor little humiliated 80 has had to endure! As such that means what you see is what you get and I do not have any of the original parts. Please read on it`s not all bad.

This little beauty has been my daily driver for the last 6 months, I have shelved out the rear with 12mm thick resin coated plywood and use it to carry all my tools, for the smallest of Landrovers there is a surprising amount of room for carrying things. TOOLS NOT INCLUDED

Original leaf sprung 1950 chassis with the early type narrow front springs. It has a custom fuel tank so one of the original tank outriggers has been cut off (easy to source and replace) and as well as the fuel tank under the driver`s seat it is filled from another tank (linked together) situated behind the front seats in the spare wheel well.

The original rear crossmember has been modified in that they kept the original square ends but have put in a centre piece that is not as deep as the  original with a smaller PTO hole which the exhaust now exits through. Very rattly exhaust!

Other wise chassis in good solid original condition, would not take much to make all original again with the right rear crossmember and new fuel tank outrigger or leave as is.

See photo for worst part of chassis, driver`s side next to front spring rear hanger would want a small patch doing in next 12 months but easy to get too. She`s no patchwork quilt seen alot worse chassis.

There is a 200tdi discovery engine fitted without the intercooler.

Series 3 gearbox with fairey overdrive

Free wheel hubs

Power steering

Remote brake servo

Series 3 axles

Series 2 heater so push button start relocated in dash with a small stainless push button

Series 3 wiper mechanism (one wiper fitted)

Still has original series 1 pedals though which is nice although looks like the accelerator pedal is modified.

First thing I would do is get the brush out and some green paint

The speedo stopped working last month

Rare hard top which is remarkably straight, although someone has put a safari double skin on it which of course they did not do until later series 1 models came out.

It really does drive very nicely indeed especially with the power steering and the tdi means it will do 70 mph and keep up with modern traffic while returning 40 plus mpg as it`s so light. I wanted an 80 to use as a daily driver and this is it.

Think the front brakes want a wheel cylinder as have recently had the rears done with new shoes and cylinders but it still needs a second pump of the pedal to pull up to a decent stop.

Original bulkhead sidelights removed and replaced with LED items (I know, what was someone thinking!)

I would prefer any genuine buyer to view before auction ends as with any vehicle you have not modified yourself you overlook or get used to how it without realising it is changed from original.

No rear cat flap, it is a series one rear door cut in half! Does the job though.

So in all either keep as is (perhaps not the colour!) and use as an economical tax and MOT exempt daily driver (workhorse) as I have been or perhaps do the bits to get the chassis back to original spec paint her green and get a soft top.

In my opinion worth doing either way and being an ex military model it is slightly rarer with the one piece opening bulkhead vent and the trailer electrics connector.
Original number plate still with it and currently not fitted I do have it`s original military ID plate.
No military grab handles present on the rear tub but these are still available from Craddocks as are original side lights.

To be honest I had toyed with the idea of buying a scrap minerva as these are around 2-3k to buy now, then simply re fit the parts engine, gearbox, axles all back to series 1 spec but I just do not have the time plus I already have a mint original 1953 80 as well.

I will include a new galvanised front bumper as the one fitted has been painted black and I also have an original spare wheel holder for the rear tub that can go back if you wish to move the extra fuel tank.

Sorry no overseas bidders, 100 non refundable paypal deposit within 24 hours of winning auction, collection within 1 week and payment via instant bank transfer or cash please.

Many thanks

Land Rover 80" Series One V8

Sellers Comments -
Relisted due to an IDIOT! .
I have also now removed the buy it now, just to save confusion

Land Rover Series One first registered March 1952
Rover 3500 V8 fitted, which is believed to be from a Discovery
Series Two Gearbox
Engine hasn't been started for a couple of years now, but it was a strong running Engine

This vehicle comes with new Wadsworth Wings, which are still in they're box, and a new galvanised 80" coil spring chassis. Though the chassis is heavily corroded, it may be salvageable. The Bulkhead is now requiring repair, as the rust mites have been at that as well. Please check all the photos, as these are part of the description

I have no longer got the time to restore this old Landy, and I feel that it is deteriorating fast, through standing in the field for the last five years

There are door tops that go with the Landy, though they're not in the photos

Series 1 Land Rover - 1952

Sellers Comments -
Series 1 Land Rover 80" imported from Australia and registered in the UK in 2017.
Completely rebuilt engine, re-conditioned (probably original)gearbox, both age-related. Noisy in 1st gear though (I just don't use it)
New clutch.
Chassis excellent, bulkhead excellent, body panels pretty good.
Brakes very poor but will stop eventually.
Steering works okay but could do with improving.
Mostly new wiring loom, nearly everything works (broken fuel gauge)
Ignition replaced with a switch because the replacement I bought never worked.
Indicators fitted.
No hood, no door tops.
Sign written and repainted, but the repainting isn't professional, the sign writing would rub off without too much effort.
This is a vehicle I restored to a level I could use it, not professionally, not properly, but the engine repair was done professionally and the gearbox.
All the rest is perfectly usable, it needs seats.
The vehicle has the correct carb, air filter, fuel filter etc.
This is a very nice Land Rover that would be almost usable as it is, but would make a very nice truck if completely finished.
It should be collected on a trailer as the brakes are awful.

Land Rover Series 1 - 86" - Year 1955

Sellers Comments - Ex Royal Ordnance Corps THIS example was one of 600 86" Land Rivers supplied under contract 6/VEH/16223 in early 1955. It left the land rover factory on 10th January 1955 and was delivered to the Ministry of Supply for use by the War Department where it was registered 63 NO 61. It was issued to the 3rd Vehicle Group Royal Army Ordnance Corps on 11th February and sent to 31st 'B' Vehicle Depot in Church Broughton, Derbyshire. As with most military vehicles, nothing is known of it's subsequent military career. It was sent to the disposal depot at Ruddington in August 1963 and was sold off at auction shortly afterwards. Purchased in an un-roadworthy state in June 2003, it was recommissioned and fettled back into rude health, retaining as much of the original army spec as possible including split rim wheels, non reflective headlight bezels and painted galvanised cappings. It now wears the livery of 267 Field Regiment, Royal Artillery Light Aid Detachment of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, a Territorial Army unit based in Worcester in the early 1960s and part of the 48th West Midlands Divison TA.

For Sale - Land Rover Series 1 , Ex Military , 1956 - £3750 - ONO - Esher

Sellers Comments - Land rover series 1, 88 inch , 1956 , Ex military De mobbed in 1966 and road registered hence the D reg, comes with Heritage certificate to confirm manufacture date of 22nd October 1956 on chassis number 111700*** An age related plate could be applied for but it would be a shame as this Landy comes complete with its original logbook and varies other documents as pictured. This Land rover has been off the road for approx 25 years and requires a full restoration, it was originally a petrol but has been converted to a 2.25 diesel at some point in its life, i had the engine running approx one year ago and it sounded fine but has not run since, gearbox and drive train are untested. body work is fairly straight apart from the crunch on the nearside rear as shown in the picture, chassis needs a reasonable amount of welding but in my opinion is saveable, chassis number is still visable on the dumb iron. Bulkhead is very rotten and would properly need replacing. The Land Rover is located in Kt10 Surrey and will need trailering away, it does roll freely so shouldn't be a problem to move. Cash on collection preferred but will also accept back transfer.
