Sellers Comments - 1961 Series 2 Land Rover 88" on a galvanised chassis and tax exempt. MOT 15th june 2018 The price is £3650 - so please don't message me saying you will give me £1500 for it im not in a hurry to sell it, and the longer I keep it, the more the price will go up :))) The chassis was galvanised by previous owner and at the time, they replaced it with the series 3 bulk head and soft dash. The car lived in Scotland at there holiday cottage and only done aprox 150 miles a year for the last 10 years. MOT's and Pictures to prove all this. 2 1/4 litre petrol engine with new fuel pump, plugs, points, cap, leads, rotor arm, coil he runs like a dream. A bit paint would have this car looking awesome, but I just haven't got time. there is holes underneath the bottom door hinges, I have brought a replacement panel for one side but not had time to fit. Its a proper shed to drive, so don't be expecting a showroom car, I'm sure you are aware you have to steer this car to stay in a straight line. and once you got the hang of the gears they are easy to find lol No seatbelt, no nothing if I'm honest - but every morning at the turn of the key and a bit of choke he starts. yes when it rains you get wet but just wear a coat. In the winter to keep warm don't rely on the heater to do this, it does blow out hot air but if I'm honest you get more hot air from a fart. In the summer the roof comes off and you look pretty cool driving it (writing this bit makes me not want to sell it) and it does put a smile on your face. Series 3 landrover SWB Tax Exempt

Sellers Comments - Series 3 Land Rover 88" soft top. 2286cc 5 bearing engine in very good running order. Gearbox and transfer box work as they should and it also has a Fairey overdrive fitted which also works well. Lights, wipers, washers and horn all work. Brakes are good and remarkably so is the hand brake!! There are 3 seats in the front and bench seats both sides in the back giving 7 seats in total. The hood sticks are all present and correct but the hood that comes with it is trashed. Bulkhead corners are very good apart from 1 patch of surface rust but not structurally a problem. Bad bits! The chassis has got several holes in it at the back end. It would be easy enough to fix if you know your way around a welder or would be a perfect candidate for a half or full chassis replacement. The front footwells are a bit scabby but would pass an MOT in my opinion. The door tops are pretty rough but a brand new set still in the box will come with it. The truck starts, runs and drives very well and has been great fun to own. It is tax exempt which is a real bonus.

It comes in original bodywork with a recent re-spray in Land Rover Masai Red that is in condition relative to the 58 year old body !. Inside is "Carriage Green". The chassis and bulkhead have had minimal repair work and are very sound. The second hand soft top ( not as Photos ) with side windows is in good condition . No oil cooler. Minor oil leak to rear of engine but is manageable. Exhaust is new Defender custom fit. New Series Heavy duty Radiator with manual aux electric fan to help cooling here at 30 degs + ! 1960 Series 2 Land Rover 2.5 Diesel 4X4 Tax Exempt Green SWB 88” Chassis No 141002880 30+MPG

 This is my old Series 2 Land Rover which I am selling as I need to focus on other projects. She was first registered on 10/05/1960 and is chassis number 141002880. Please note there is a mixture of pictures from over the time I have owned her, she is now in a friends dry storage.

She has a 2.5 15J diesel engine which is consistent and has done long trips faultlessly and reliably, I have had a good 34MPG out of it although it is no racing car! I have been on trips abroad with her, I am happy & comfortable with the performance and the quirks of the engine however don’t expect extreme performance, she will reliably chug along all day through many difficult conditions and as I have found out she is very, very capable in slippery, muddy, steep places. I joined a Land Rover Club and was taken around a short course by a member to demonstrate it’s off road ability, it went amazingly and the old fashioned ‘narrow’ off road tyres give a lot of traction! That was the only time it has been ‘off-roading’ in my ownership. She has that classic look and is in broadly original condition apart from the engine as mentioned and I think the front brakes which are from a V8, so it stops well relatively compared to original period brakes. The engine does smoke on start up like most old Land Rovers, but clears in use and does not use oil more than it should, it is an old diesel after all and not like the modern diesels of today, yes you will need to glow the plugs before start up! It is very cheap to run after all and built for work rather than speed!

It has new front brake cylinders and front shoes, and rubber brake connection hoses all round however she will need bleeding to finish. She ran well when she was on the road however she is going to benefit from some restoration work to get through an MOT, she needs a new rear cross member and new front dumb irons or patching by a competent welder. If I was keeping her then I would put a new galvanised chassis on for the long term and maybe give her more of a restoration at the same time, she needs a good clean and if the new owner wanted then you could give her a fresh coat of paint. Like any old car it has its quirks but that is to be expected for a car of this age. The bulkhead is good to my knowledge, please come and inspect her for yourself. Also has large Smiths heater and nice big Land Rover mud flaps, it has the early series razor edge bonnet and large bonnet hinges & early air vents with early screw controls. The cab is pretty original inside.

It would make a good project to have a fun car for summer, it was great fun with the top off and so useful for putting dogs or logs in etc. It will come with a full length hard top, door tops and possibly a good set of tyres as the ones in the picture are now on a different vehicle. If it sells for the ‘buy it now’ price then it shall come with a spare set of tyres I have, the same as in the pictures which are a ‘Deestone Extra Traction’ type tread pattern though the actual make may vary. There is also a tow hitch that comes with it for the ‘buy it now’ price.

Any questions please ask, I am happy to show people around the vehicle by arrangement, she is in a friends dry storage at the moment. I have tried to list all of its points but I may have missed something so please come and inspect the vehicle yourself so that you can have a good look around and be happy with the work that needs doing etc. It will need to be put on a trailer to take away, or I can deliver locally by arrangement.

Sellers Comments - Hi and welcome to my auction. this is a great project all welding has been undertaken that I can see. it has new footwells and has had plates neatly welded on chassis and a new cross member at some point. the land rover has stood out under a sheet for about 6 months since loosing its shed space engine turns freely haven't tried starting. the panels are only loosely fitted for transport. great project with all hard welding work done unfortunately it was lifted under the front end with a forklift when I had to move it in a hurry and I bent the track rod this hasn't been fixed yet.but I should have a replacement to include. an appreciating classic and sound investment. I belive it is now tax exempt under the new rules.

1965 Land Rover series 2a SWB 88" ex military for spares repairs or restoration.

Sellers Comments - this Ex military Series 2a Land Rover. I think it could be ex RAF, but I'm sure someone will put me right on that.... This, obviously will require complete restoration. It had been used as a breakdown truck by the local garage here in Usk until it was parked up in 2002, first it was kept indoors, then later was evicted and has spent the last few years outside braving the elements. It joined civilian life in 1974 and was correctly registered as a 1965 vehicle with a "C" registration. (many were registered as if they were new vehicles) It would appear to have had just two previous owners since 1974. Other than the fitting of a truck cab, much of the original military equipment remains intact, which must make this a worthwhile project for the military vehicle enthusiast. The chassis has not survived particularly well. There are large holes along the length of the o/s chassis leg. The n/s is in better shape but has a large hole near the rear fuel tank outrigger. Basically it will need a lot of welding or a new chassis. The bulkhead is rusty but should be a good basis for repair using the available repair panels. Many series 2 bulkheads are now getting to the point where they are just not worth the bother. The front panel seems sound. Generally the bodywork is fairly straight in Land Rover terms other than the o/s rear wing which has been beaten straight at some point and has cracked. The Land Rover has been hand painted in a horrible shade of green hammerite but this is now peeling off in sheets to reveal the original military paint, still in surprisingly good condition! The engine runs if you pour petrol straight into the carburettor.... I could not get it to pump fuel from the tank to the carb... but then again, I didn't spend long messing with it. It rolls freely and steers easily, however both brake and clutch pedals have seized, so the Land Rover can not be driven. Other mechanical parts are therefore in unknown condition, but there is no reason to believe that there should be any serious problems here. It has a current V5c document and both the normal chassis plate and the military plate on the bulkhead.The registration number would appear to be transferable.

1971 Series IIa Petrol / LPG SWB Hard top Land Rover - For Sale £3750

Sellers Comments - A 1971 late model SWB Series IIa Land Rover with Maltese Cross front panel and headlights in the wings. Apart from the LPG conversion with certification from an UKLPG certificated installer, twin LPG tanks mounted on wheel arches in the rear tub, the vehicle is in original and unmolested condition. No checker plate, no sun roofs cut into the hard top roof, or CB aerials. The vehicle is just as it should be even down to having it's original starting handle clipped behind the front seats. The vehicle has been very well maintained and has clearly had good money spent on it over the years. It has even had a professional respray. A previous owner was a Doctor. The odometer reads 31,000 miles and that could possibly be genuine as previous MOTs show it has covered less than 5,000 miles in the previous ten years. It's relative lack of use hid a problem that it had. No oil in the front axle casing. I bought it last year in Walton on Thames and drove it back home to the Wirral. I got as far as near Banbury on the M40 when the front axle locked up ,their was an enormous crash, and the front differential disintegrated. It clearly had not been a problem to anybody driving it before me as they had not driven it far enough for it to be an issue. I managed to nurse it home with difficulty as did not have the tools to hand to remove the front prop shaft. Because I had driven it that way I did not want to just change the diff as little bits of metal could have worked their way into other parts of the axle casing. I decided the thing to do was to completely rebuild the axle, that is just to keep the axle casing and to replace everything else. I sourced a replacement Series IIa front axle which came from an abandoned restoration project . The axle had been rebuilt with new swivels etc but never fitted to the vehicle. I intended for the sake of originality to rebuild the original axle with the bits from the other rather than to just swap the axles which would have been much easier. Unfortunately I then through no fault of my own lost my storage and place to work on it so I have been using it with the front prop shaft removed as a two wheel drive vehicle. It works very well that way and for general road driving works better that way than it would with the front prop shaft in place. It passed an MOT that way too. I have not been well recently and have decide to pass it on to someone else. The replacement front axle with new swivels will be supplied with the vehicle and the the new owner could rebuild the axle as I intended or could just swap the axles which would not take more than a couple of hours. The horse box is not included in the sale but the galvanised roof rack is if the purchaser would like it. I insist on any prospective purchaser coming to see and test the vehicle for themselves. 1978 88" Land Rover Series 3 Diesel SWB, Ex RAF Landrover

For Sale, my Landrover which I have owned since 2012. It is ex RAF, its 12v and has had no military equipment added to it. RAF number and ident plate present. It left the RAF as a petrol and was converted to diesel sometime later. It has a Q plate registration. It was built in 1978 and was registered for civilian use in 1992.
It has a Fairy Overdrive, freewheeling hubs and rear seats, all gears work as they should (no jumping out) the gearbox was replaced with a recon one in 2010. It drives and stops well, its solid, it has a couple small oil leaks as Landrovers do, other than the engine change its as orginal as you'll get. The rear tub is chequer plated. The V5 is present. The mileage shown on the clock is 13416, this is not its total mileage as the clock was replace in 2013 this is shown on the MOT certificate in the Odometer Reading and History section, the replacement clock had 12000ish miles on it to start with. During my ownership the following  new parts have been fitted:
