Sellers Comments A 1949 Land Rover Series I 80 inch with a canvas tilt, registration number OTW 763, chassis number R8666445, bronze green. Little did Maurice Wilks, Rover's chief designer, know in 1947 when he came up with a plan to design a lightweight all terrain four wheel drive vehicle, inspired by the Willys Jeep, would he create a vehicle which would become an icon. This early lights behind grill example, from the second year of production, is finished in bronze green with a full canvas tilt and recently re-trimmed green vinyl seats. The Landy has been used on a small private estate since 2003 and has been maintained as necessary. The history file contains numerous receipts including repairs to the bulkhead, an engine change as well as general maintenance. Now only for sale due to an impending move, the Land Rover has a lovely used patina and is on the button ready for work. V5C, MOT and tax exempt
The Land Rover Defender is an off-road vehicle produced under this name by the British manufacturer, Land Rover, since 1991. However, the vehicle is the direct heir of the first Land Rover that made its debut in 1948. The first prototype was built by the British automaker in 1947 and it was designed for the army. This iconic car was improved over the years and it has been known for generations as a national treasure.

1949 series 1 LAND ROVER GREEN
Sellers Comments - For sale is my dads 1949 series 1 Land Rover. Part restored
He acquired the Land Rover in 1988 as a running road going wreck. He took possession of it and stripped it down to every last nut and bolt and set about restoring it he managed to get it to the condition it is in now which I would say is half way there he has spent a small fortune on it but then along came family and work and then ill health so now regrettably is up for sale Everything needed to complete is included my father spent years locating original parts The seats have been recovered/ renewed. There is numerous crates of new old stock genuine parts. 2 radiators new half shaft etc etc the list is endless. Any potential bidder should really view as. There is a lot to this auction you will need a decent size van just for the parts alone Anyone interested in viewing please contact me on 07736392927 please text first as may not be able to answer right away

Land Rover Series 1 - 80 inch - 1949/50
80 inch
Series 1, believed to be 1949-1950 model, possibly ex-Mod first registered in
1953 locally (Rhuthin). No v5 or history, non-original BMC 2.5 diesel (block
cracked but runs well enough to drive it on to a trailer), what looks like a
Salisbury rear axle. My grandfather has owned this for a few years but isn't
going to have the time to do it so has decided to sell. Tailgate is missing,
it's sold as seen
Auction
will run to the end regardless- no offers please, viewing fine, buyer arranges
collection within 7 days of auction end having paid a 10% deposit on the close
of the auction. I'm a series 2 fan myself but know enough to answer most
questions and have tried to picture most dating features such as the
sidelights, bulkhead, pedals etc.
Overseas bids and no feedback will be automatically cancelled,
please see previous vehicle sale feedback.
