Land Rover Defender 300 Tdi

Sellers Comments - 1998 Defender County 300 Tdi. I bought this Land Rover a year ago in a change of direction from American trucks, and to be honest, it’s not for me. I know they’re extremely popular, but although it will anywhere, it’s too basic for me. I’ve been told by Land Rover fanatics that this a very good one for its age. The bulkhead and doors are very good in respect of rust issues. The chassis is also good and benefits from having the rear cross member replaced by the previous keeper. Mechanically it’s sound and starts on the button every time, (I’m sure the new battery I put on helps and will do so for years to come). In a vain attempt to bring it kicking and screaming into the 21st century, I’ve added a centre console to house a touchscreen head unit with sat nav and apple car play. Drivers seat rails create a little more leg room, new head lights, LED sidelights etc, rear work lights and light bar make sure the way is well lit which ever direction you’re going. I’ve also added side steps, rear folding step, new exhaust, Terrafirma 2” suspension, and rear window cages for a little security. Currently on SORN, will have new MOT for new owner

Landrover Defender 90 300tdi - For Sale

This truck has been mine since 2016. It has honestly been the best landrover I’ve driven in terms of the way it drives. Drives straight and pulls up as it should. It has a smaller steering wheel witch  gives you a little more room and is a bit different from the normal aftermarket steering wheels people usually fit! In my ownership I have had the chassis welded in the usual places and it was painted  back in 2017 it’s got a bit of light rust in places but want to leave it as it is so the buyer can see the truck for what it is. The chassis is sound but does have a few patches on it now. I have recently had the battery box bottom welded and a patch on the back of the chassis done this year ready for the new owner. I have also put a new alternator, radiator and water pump and belt on late last year and the door bottoms have been repaired (cut out and new fitted). See photos. Cambelt done at 150k. This has been a working truck so has a few battle Knocks but all cosmetic. Lots of good bits!!

still has the original tool roll (most tools still in plastic wrapping), jack and wheel brace stored behind the seat.

Good solid low miles engine ( covered less than 5k a year though it’s lifetime)

There is a small amount of paint blister to the passenger door and rear door, but importantly no rust or rot.

New rear cross member ( this did not need doing but there was a small patch of rot in it, so instead of having it patched, I replaced the crossmember) 

New OEM suspension all round, I do have a used 2” terrafirma lift kit that I was going to fit, but never did, as personally I don’t like the look of them jacked up and it’s never done anything so serious to warrant the lift, so that will come with the car.
