Land-Rover-Series-2A-88-Galvanised-Coil-Sprung-Chassis-Project

Sellers Comments - For Sale 1962 Series 2A Project Brought this as a part done project a few years ago, my aim was to get it running as a coil sprung series 2A and get it through a test, and use it for towing and comfort. It has a galvanised Designa coil sprung chassis, series 2a bulkhead good condition, discovery one axles, with a defender 200tdi engine and LT77 gearbox which runs. New suspension and poly bushed all round, new fuel tank, new battery tray in seat box. very tidy underneath come and view for a closer look. Body panels straight and painted, I have started a wiring loom, loads of parts included and loads of receipts for parts that have been brought, have got the V5 for the existing 1962 2a. Some parts will still be required to complete the project, like dash console, propshaft, door handles Ect. This is a project and I'm gutted I couldn't complete it, will most likely require and IVA test due to the nature of the build. I am now studying away from home and cannot finish it, has sat for a while now and will just sit until I get the time to work on it.

Landrover Series 2a - 1969 crossover 6 cylinder barn find

Sellers Comments - Here we have for sale a very nice example of a 1969 crossover with Maltese grill - these vehicles are becoming increasingly hard to find in this condition with this great patina. A great resortation project for someone to undertake. The vehicle itself will probably warrant from a new chassis but is not beyond repair from a competent welder. In whole the body work is very straight there are some dings and dates but she is 47 years old. She will need to be trailered away. V5 is here - any questions please ask Viewing highly recommended before bidding or auction ending Cash on collection from WR2

Series 2A Lightweight (Half Ton 88”) Land Rover with 200tdi engine, Tax exempt.

Sellers Comments -
Original military reg. number 26 RN 89 (think that makes it Royal Navy?)

This is RHD No 1321, I understand only 1893 RHD and 1096 LHD of these Land Rovers were built so it is a very rare vehicle especially in this condition.

Very good chassis
Very good bulkhead
Very straight bodywork
Hardly any rust
Metallic brown paintwork - looks very good.
Usual military lightweight spec, e.g. strengthened front and rear axles, front and rear military bumpers, twin fuel tanks (but only one currently piped in), 2 piece tailgate etc....
Tax exempt
Just passed an MOT 31st July 2017
Cheap to insure only costing me £70 a year fully comp for 3,000 miles.
5 almost new 7.50 Goodyear G90 Tyres on military split rims.
Good Exmoor hood with roll up sides.

It has the following upgrades
Discovery 200tdi engine that runs very well still with turbo and intercooler fitted. Looks like a nice conversion. It is more powerful and more economical than the standard engine.
Originally it had 2 1/4 (2286cc 4 cylinder) Petrol engine. I have a complete spare 2286cc petrol engine that is available to the winning bidder for an additional £200 if you would like to make it more original.
High ratio Range Rover type (3.5) diffs – these enable it to cruse at 70mph
Body mounted role bar
Rocky mountain parabolic springs
Pro Comp Shock absorbers
LWB Brakes with servo
Kenlow fan
Fairy Free Wheel Hubs
Front seat belts
Defender door mirrors
High back seats etc…

These mods make it more usable especially if you are thinking of it as a daily drive without losing any of its unique nature.

Remember it is 45 years and I am selling it as seen without any guarantee.

Viewing and any inspection welcome and encouraged.

The V5 is in my name.

Land Rover Series 2A Pick Up SWB 1966

Sellers Comments -
It is fitted with the Rover 21/4 Diesel engine.
Declared manufactured 1966 it was assigned to the Army and was decommissioned and first registered with its current registration in 1976
Classed as an historic vehicle it is tax free. It’s very cheap to insure through a specialist company.
It’s been my daily local runabout and great fun to drive. Milage is 62700 but will go up slightly as I us the vehicle most days.
I have fitted many new parts during the 6 years that I have owned it these being as follows:
  • Complete exhaust
  • Four general grabber AT2 tyres
  • Four steel wheel rims
  • Door tops
  • Light Lenses
  • Pedal covers
  • Wipers arms and blades
  • Fan Belt
  • Water hoses
  • Parallel diesel injector system
  • Heavy duty battery
  • Alternator
  • Break linings & fluid
  • Drive shaft
  • Fresh air intake rubber seals
It’s an ongoing project as they all are but I don’t have the time anymore so I need to let it go
The canvas has just been waterproofed but there are some splits in the plastic window parts and the window parts are now opaque.
Engine oil, (with Lucas additive), Gearbox and Transfer case oil, (with moly slip), and oil in the axels and hubs, (free wheeling), were changed last year.
At the last MOT my mechanic said it was solid underneath which it passed without any advisories. MOT until December 2017
At high speed the vehicle tends to wander a little which suggests the steering needs adjustment but I will leave that to the new owner. It was obviously checked at MOT and was okay to pass.
Every fall it gets a spray of fine oil/white spirit mix underneath to help keep it sealed and in good order for winter.
Cylinder head was removed, cleaned and a new gasket fitted 3 years ago. During this work it was noted that at some point the diesel pump would need replacing but it has been working fine so I have never bothered.
There is an inherent oil leak which came with the vehicle, sometimes it drips, sometimes it doesn’t, I simply check and top up as required.
All previous MOT’s present
Small file of receipts etc
Extras include:
  • Two sets of keys for both doors and ignition
  • Two Haynes manuals one petrol and one diesel
  • Fire extinguisher fitted
  • Clarion remote control radio cassette fitted, (radio needs an ariel)
  • Small 9 piece tool kit in cloth roll
  • Wheel brace and sockets
  • Trolley Jack
  • Vintage 20L Gerry Can
  • Grease Gun + 2 new grease cartridges
  • Oil Filler pump for axels
  • Box of assorted fuses
  • Touch up paint
You are welcome to come and view and I can give you a test drive. I offer no warranty on this vehicle and no guarantee is offered or implied. Strictly sold as seen. Positively no cash offers so don’t waste your time and mine. I am after a yank or two seat roadster so may swap WHY.

Land Rover Series 2A - Galvanised Chassis & Bulkhead & reconditioned Gearbox Galvanised Chassis & Bulkhead & reconditioned Gearbox

Sellers Comments - FOR SALE! LAND ROVER SERIES 2A 1965 - TAX EXEMPT 2.5NA DIESEL Starts runs and drives The Good Bits - -This Landy has already been fitted with a Richards Galvanised Chassis -New Galvanised Front Panel -Repaired and Galvanised Bulkhead -Parabolic springs & shocks -Supplied with New Fuel Tank -Repaired & solid bonnet -Good solid door bottoms -Exmoor trim high back Chairs -Very good original panels. -Range rover rear Diffs This landy was in everyday use until march 2016 when the MOT ran out. At this point it started to kick out of second gear when over running down a very steep hill. At this piont the then owner decided to dry store it until he could get it repaired. I purchased the Landy in febuary. Once i got it home and realised it drove as it should (Less the gearbox) and found it was on a full galvanised Skeleton i too put it into a barn as with the straight panel work, gearbox and lick of paint it would be very special. Unfortunately in the last 6 months i have not even found the time to look at it let alone start to work on it due to an expanding family its time to move house and i have now lost my storage. It still starts on the button and drives as it should but its time to let it go. There is no roof with this landy as the previous owner kept it permanently in the garage and only used it on nice days, I can supply a roof, sides and back door at additional cost but personally like to see these old girls with a rag top. Prior to advertising i put it into a local garage to see if it would go through an M'O'T to help it sell but i have been advised -The swivels leak and have excessive play -Several bulbs not working (typical landy) -Play in the bushes for the rear springs -No wipers (motors were not wired in where the screen had been taken off and put back on. Due to it being stored for a while i think it would benifit from a good service too, but like i said does start and drive. V5 Present and in my name. Based in Gillingham Dorset No offers by text phone call preferred. Can be delivered nationwide subject to cleared funds. cash on collection or by transfer prior to delivery Patrick - 07740 242867 On 26-Jul-17 at 22:09:19 BST, seller added the following information: The reconditioned Gearbox is a series 3 suffix D syncro box brought from Simmonities. Its 3 months old and is still under warranty. it cost me £750 and an exchange unit and i have the invoice too,

Land Rover 1971 Series 2A LPG Petrol Tax Exempt with Sankey Trailer Full MOT

Sellers Comments - Series 2A Land Rover, with dual fuel capability. 109" 4x4 LWB. Manufactured in 1971, it is now 46 years old and still going strong. Everything works as it should. It is used mainly for the occasional big shop, trip down the beach, the odd show, or just mooching around with the kids, because they love it with the top down, or just opened up. Everything is good, bulkhead, chassis, it's been welded here and there, there is some aluminium corrosion, it has a dent in the rear o/s, and bears the scars of a 46 year old, weeps a bit of oil, but nothing to worry about between services, but most endearingly, has not yet failed an MOT. It has had the odd advisory over the years, but they are always dealt with before the next MOT. It has manual locking front hubs, overdrive, and a hand throttle, should you wish to add a power take off. I have owned it now for 14 years and it has NEVER let me down. It had 44 something, thousand miles on the clock when I bought it, which I have no idea was genuine or not. Now it has nearly 88,000. It is bouncy, rattly, draughty, leaky, smelly, slow, scruffy, all in, it is just a posh tractor but I love it. In my view, the best 4x4 by far. I now though, have to part with it, for something more sleek, and kinder to my old bones. When I bought it, it had just had some new foot wells fitted, which I still haven't got round to painting. I still have the paint though. It also had an unleaded cylinder head fitted too and LPG. It has slightly wider than stock, Wella wheels, with good tyres. Last year, soft ride springs were fitted all round, which are anything but soft, unless it is loaded. Drive over a Cherry pip at speed and you will hit your head on the roof. I am sure they will soften with time. I also replaced the full canvas top, with a Dutch Military, rubberised canvas one. They last twice as long as the regular canvas version, for the same money, if you can find one. It comes with the truck cab too, and a 3 1/4 canvas to go with it, which I some times fit in the winter months, if it gets cold. Or you can just take the lot off, fold the screen onto the bonnet, and enjoy the lovely hot summer days with the wind and the bugs in your face. No surprise the farmers loved this pick up, you can't do that with a Nissan, or similar, can you. Also included, are the 2 seats where the gas tank is now, it was a 7 seater once. There is also a spare tail gate, with a pick and shovel attached, should you want to go to any of the shows, or off roading. Also included is a brass, ex military, radio mast, hand pump and fittings, should you like to spend months in the wilds, and you get a puncture. There are some door rubbers too, should you wish to fit them. Included in the sale is a scruffy, but perfectly usable, very sturdy, no rot, Sankey Trailer, to load all your camping gear, dump the garden rubbish down the tip, etc. I have a few other spares too. New brake shoes and cylinders, glass, in case the screen goes, alternator and starter motor, knackered, but ready for nipping down to autoparts, for that recon exchange when you suspect a failure, and more I can not remember. I have all the MOT tickets. Etc etc. I do recommend you view the vehicle prior to bidding, for your own peace of mind. To arrange a viewing, I can be contacted on, 07732 771207. 18.00 to 06.00 is good, as I work a night shift at the moment. So, you are bidding for a healthy Land Rover package. Happy bidding. I have also advertised locally so will cancel this auction if it sells.

Land Rover Series 2a 109" Central Electricity Generating Board Original paint!!

Sellers Comments - This has got to be unique! Only two owners, the first was the Central Electricity Generating Board who owned it from 1969 until 1989 when it was sold off. Ordered by the CEGB in orange direct from the Rover factory The next owner clearly loved and cherished it as it is in remarkably original and sound condition. Thank goodness for some reason he didn't paint it! Most of the original livery is in place and the rest could be easily put back on. When released from the CEGB it had 24,997 miles on the clock and it now has 58,848 miles showing. Correct type 2.25 petrol engine fitted which starts on the key and goes well. Superb sound chassis and excellent bulkhead. The gearbox is good and it has a near silent overdrive as well! Fitted with a superb Ramsey electric winch in 1985 which works well. All MOTs from 1989 until 2004 when it was stored away. Exhumed by me a few months ago and then recommissioned including brakes, exhaust, clutch and many other things. This will look great at shows as no one else will have one! New MOT until 4th July 2018. Tax exempt

Series 2a Landrover

Sellers Comments
Series 2A Landrover Pickup

This vehicle was purchased for a film production.
The vehicle has had a full body repaint inside and out. Full service with nothing overlooked.

Its has had a complete new set of seats purchased and re upholstered to the requirements of the film.

The vehicle runs and drives as it should and has no known faults. It actually did a fair bit of driving for the production and never missed a beat.

4 x good tyres fitted with an almost new spare included in the sale.
The wheels have been refurbed and paint to match the roof and is a real good looking vehicle. When transported many landrover owners where taking pictures of it whilst on the motorway and we even had a few people approach us and say what a great looking vehicle it is and how well it looks.

The vehicle is 48 years old and looks like its just come out the show room.

There is a few things that need doing to make this an a perfect vehicle but are only very small and cosmetic i.e - rubbers on sliding windows for doors and new window wipers that have perished slightly but that is really about it

If you wish to view the vehicle please contact me 07785382448
The vehicle is based in Hemel Hempstead.

If you have any further questions please message me direct. Or call me to discuss

Listed with no reserve as want to give everybody a chance to own a classic that really is a lovely vehicle and very collectable.
