The Land Rover Defender is an off-road vehicle produced under this name by the British manufacturer, Land Rover, since 1991. However, the vehicle is the direct heir of the first Land Rover that made its debut in 1948. The first prototype was built by the British automaker in 1947 and it was designed for the army. This iconic car was improved over the years and it has been known for generations as a national treasure.

1957 Series 1 88" 2250 petrol
Sellers Comments 1957 Series 1 88" 2250 petrol The chassis is good original condition but would benefit from x2 new outriggers and some welding on the back end. I would say a good weekend with a welder would have the chassi sorted. The bulkhead is in not too bad condition. It does have a hole on the left hand side above the vents and is starting to bubble up in places, I would recommend replacing the top trim of the bulkhead ( part available at craddocks for £90 ). The fuel tank has a leak in it so it has to be run off a temporary one, The brakes need looking at as there is nothing on the foot peddle but the hand brake works. it is fitted with overdrive, Free wheeling hubs Parabolic springs with Rocky Mountain shockers. The Landy is an ideal project for someone who has the time to strip it and rebuild although if you wanted to use it as it is you could have it back on the road in a couple of weeks. I bought this with the intention of getting it on the road and using it through the summer but I'm currently on with a mk3 rs turbo and it's got to the point where I now need to sell the Landy to get the rs finished.

1957 - Land Rover series 1 88" very early 2 litre diesel
Sellers Comments - Hi there, here for sale is my land rover series 1 88" 2 litre diesel, it is a very early diesel model and i bought her earlier this year to fully restore, it was originally bronze green but had a colour change in the 1980's, it is currently completely stripped down in my workshop but was carefully taken apart and stored,, the body panels are all in tidy condition and the rear tub is very straight too. Unfortunately the bulkhead is rotten and the chassis is very bad too,, i have rebuilt the rear axle with new bearings etc and is ready to paint, the front axle is the same. I have the new style log book and i'm the third keeper from new. Very original, came new as a factory hardtop and will make a super little land rover when done. All the parts are there, i just stripped it down so i could see what parts were needed, Please message with any questions, your welcome to come view if your serious about buying but no time wasters please, it is located near doncaster, south yorks,, only bid to buy and you'll need to contact me within 12hrs of the auction end. Cash on collection only please, please only bid to buy!! Not happy about selling as i'd love to finish it myself as its a lovely original example but unfortunately i'm no longer able to see it through :(

1957 Land Rover Series 1 107 Station Wagon (running & with V5)
Relisted with V5 & age related plates (693 UYT - Taxed and MOT exempt). Also have sourced
a period centre bench seat. Also runs (was a dodgy battery lead in the end)! Great project needing minimal work
to make roadworthy - photos show areas needing attention! I need the space and funds for my other
projects. Can be driven for loading purposes - no pressure on brakes.
|
Rare Series 1 Station Wagon with a later 2.25L Petrol engine installed and is in the condition as per photos. Chassis and bulkhead are not rotten and are in remarkably good shape. Missing rear side facing seats (ones shown in pics are not part of the sale as they belong to another vehicle). Can be put on the road with very little work, but will take a fair bit of effort to make her look perfect! Heritage cert supplied - states this was originally green.
Open to reasonable offers

Land Rover Series 1 - 1957 88 inch diesel
.
This is a 1957 Land Rover series 1 diesel 88inch. Chassis number 116700286 engine number 14601118. Green. It is thought to be one of only 200 series 1 land rovers with the original 2 litre diesel still fitted as many were converted to petrol. Purchased by me in 2014 in a barn find condition the Land Rover has been extensively renovated with the aim to keep it as original as possible. Noteworthy works carried out have included removing the body and repairing the chassis where required, followed by repairing the bulkhead where corroded. The engine has been rebuilt with new piston rings and big end bearings and has a new water pump. Both the Dynamo and starter motor have been reconditioned. The clutch renewed and all brake cylinders shoes and pipes replaced. The exhaust system is all new and the wheels were shot lasted before painting. It has two new batteries fitted. It has five brand new tyres and the interior has been renewed with exmoor trim seats to the original design and colour. The vehicle has a V5C, a heritage certificate and receipts for work undertaken.

Those people who know land rovers know that there are always things to do on them to improve them further. I'm selling it due to a change in job but if I was keeping it I would renew the wiring, fit an internal heater and replace the door rubbers. I would probably also replace the injectors as it does smoke a bit. These diesels always did but I suspect they are the originals and are probably due for a change. They are easy to source and fairly cheap to get off eBay.

LAND ROVER series 1 - 109 - 1957
I'd like to give some the opportunity to have and enjoy the vehicle. I use the 109 more less every day, and find it to be very reliable, in the time I've owned it it's only broke once(loose wire in the distributor, easy fix!!!)) only last week I was out on a 50miles round trip, jumped on the M62 back to junction twentyseven, motor way was an experience but no bother!! as you can tell by the amount I'm writing I love it! The vehicle, it has a 2 1/4 petrol engine sat on a solid chassis( all undersealed ), 5 good tyres all round, springs and axles all in good order and paint. Just needs some TLC. I've added as many photos, as you can see for yourself the vehicle is as I described, the chassis is all solid just has a splash of mud on, and I've put as many angles of the bulkhead on to show it's good order too, seat box, floor , gearbox tunnel all good.

1957 Land Rover Series 1 88" Petrol
Sellers Comments - Land Rover Series 1, first registered on 14/11/1957 with the reg number 482 BTU. It comes with a full new log book with 2 previous owners. The way it sits now is how I bought it about 6 months ago from the same place it has stood for over 25 years. I have done a full HPI check on it and it is clean, never written off or scrapped, I would have put a picture up of it but ebay will only let me upload 12 photos, I will happily send more on request. The chassis and bulkhead are salvageable (so I am told by a specialist) but it does need a lot of work and is not for the faint hearted. It comes with 2 mint condition doors that came with it and I am told by the old owner that they are the ones for this and they were put in the shed when it was parked up. I am absolutely gutted to have to sell this but if I'm honest I will never get the time to do it and someone else will. I would highly recommend coming to have a look at it before bidding, I have been as honest as possible. Collection from Corwen, North Wales, local delivery can be arranged. Winning bidder must get in touch within 24 hours and it is to be picked up

SERIES 1 LAND ROVER. 1957 86 INCH, A REAL LIFE BARN FIND AND IT'S ALL THERE
GENUINE barn find and so what you see is what you get. Rare
Series 1 diesel, 1957 and believed to have been registered at new to the
Belgian Air Force. Hence it began as a 4x2 and not the usual 4x4! At some stage
during it's life, someone has made it into a 4-wheel drive by making the front
axle live. I guess you could easily "reverse" this process. Only
about 2 months ago, we had her puffing, panting and blowing some good diesel
smoke and so she will run with time and love. Everything is there (somewhere in
the sheds!) front wings, front panel, doors, windscreen, hard top, seats etc.
Hard top is without glass. So, a real find. Bulkhead a touch iffy on the
offside but I have seen a lot worse (see photos) and the chassis is actually
not bad. For restoration. Just stating the obvious! Great opportunity.

A well-restored 1957 land rover series 1 88in petrol softtop+needs nothing
957 example of a Series 1 Land Rover 88in softtop finished in Desert Sand...
This one is fitted with a matching set of 5 Firestone 650x16 tyres, twin rear bench seats giving seating for 7, new tilt, and towbar.
Believed to be an ex-military example that left service in 1984, it has a quite superb chassis and bulkhead, (it has apparently been recently fully rebuilt) and the correct –period 2.0 engine fitted. There is a file of history back to the early 1990’s.
It’s full of character and on test it performed superbly

Landrover Series 1 - 1957 - 88" - 300Tdi
Here we have for sale my 1957 series 1 88"
This is being sold as i do not have the time to use it. This landrover has a 300 Tdi engine and later gearbox wich includes an ashcroft High ratio transfer box. The body work has a nice used look with the usual knocks, scrapes and dents as you would expect of a landrover of this age. The chassis is very solid and has had some repairs The bulkhead is a Radfords remanufactured replacement, which is very sold. It has a new Hood stick set and uprated brakes. While not being 100% original ,this is a very usable landrover that pulls well and can cope with daily traffic. There has been some upgradeds and later parts fitted to make it more usable while keeping an original look. There was a new clutch radiator and hoses fitted when the engine conversion was carried out. This landrover could be kept as is, or returned to original spec, over time while being used and enjoyed. The landrover is MOT and tax exempt and still carries its original reg number There is a hood included in the sale which is blue in colour. The spot lamps are not wired up This is a uk Auction only |
