Land Rover 90 Defender - Good working condition for its age

Sellers Comments Land Rover 90 Defender 1988 2.8 Isuzu injection engine, diesel which makes it very economical, getting about 45 to the gallon. Black with hard top. Extras include snorkel, working wench and rock sliders. Reconditioned Discovery gear box, new fuel tank, 2” lift kit. Side facing bench seats in the back. I have owned this vehicle since 2013 and use daily. It is a Great truck for the year and looks good. It is UK registered and MOTd till Oct 2019 and in good working order. -

I bought this car 2 1/2 years ago and I have used it as my daily driver ever since. I have invested a lot of money and time into the maintenance and upkeep of this car. A solid example of a Land Rover Defender 90, double winch front and back, Discovery engine upgrade, 5 saw tooth wheels with BF Goodrich all terrains, full LED exterior lighting, new clutch, new rear prop shaft, new exhaust (custom built) and steering arms.

As it is a 1980s Land Rover it does have some signs of wear, these include: paint (particularly drivers side door as shown in photos), front tyre wear, interior roof lining sag, small rip on drivers seat, and battery box exterior rust.

With some more love and time this car could be perfect. Due to change of circumstances, I'm forced to sell.

Land Rover Defender 110 300tdi 1988

Selling my pride and joy.
Recently had an engine swap from 19j to 300tdi from discovery. Lt77 gearbox. Runs well (if a bit smokey like all land rovers its age). Like most of its kind its got torque up to its eyeballs and a personality all its own!

- The engine conversion costed £4000 and was done by a land rover specialist.
- The custom cab is from a 90 and has custom plates that fill in the gaps either side of the rear door (see picture).
- Fitted with BRAND NEW wheels and tyres costing around £850,
- Recently replaced speedo cable with brand new one.
300tdi has done roughly 75,000 miles approx. Chassis is in good condition with not much rust.

Selling because i just do not have the time to fix the small wiring fault in the dashboard and i cannot afford the insurance on her (I AM 18! AND INSURANCE COMPANIES CHARGE TOO MUCH) I have loved driving her and shes a great laugh to drive and will certainly be missed. Hope she gets a good home!

Due to wiring fault which i suspect is affecting the fuel pump, she will not turn over. She is a rare specimen as i have never seen another land rover with a cab like hers. Lastly  the passenger door is missing its inner door card which is purely cosmetic.

This is a very well looked after car with genuine 300 TDI engine and gearbox but it has a unique paint colour.

Over the last year, I have added a few upgrades including rear seats, new aluminum radiator, and intercooler, new shock absorbers all round and a night heater which will hold a constant temperature for over twelve hours without the engine running which has been very effective in the recent weather.

There are new shock absorbers all round, led lights, bonnet struts, air suspension on the back and loads more.

The only reason for selling is that I need a larger family car.

It has an MOT until January 2019, data tag kit fitted.

This car is also advertised in a couple of different so could be removed before the end of bidding, I would recommend viewing and test drive before buying as sold as seen.

Sellers Comments - This is my 1988 4 door range rover which is for spares or repair, I bought to strip for parts for my race car but I think its too good to break up, its had one previouis owner and done 113k miles. it does need welding to get it through an mot but think its mainly the sills as the chassis looks ok, I have onlky had a quick look though. the interior is in very good condition with no damage or wear on the seats but does need a clean and the headlining has dropped like most. I haven't had it running but it does turn over and you can hear the fuel pump running so I think its probably old diesel not letting it start.
