Conniston green, checker-plate in places painted orange. Front winch stopped working, possibly solenoid.

This has been my everyday working vehicle but ill-health forces sale with great sadness.

Landrover 90 Defender TD5 County - Red - 1999

For Sale is my Defender 90 TD5 which has a full service history and Bills for nearly what I’m asking for it including a bill for £2000 for a reconditioned gearbox, clutch and Flywheel a couple of years ago. The Landy drives really nice I came back from Devon in it yesterday and it didn’t miss a beat.  I bought this cause I love them and this one is ripe for a total spruce up where it would be worth easily double what I’m asking.  However it needs welding on a the Chassis before it’s next mot is due in late December this year.  Because of my health I can no longer do this type of work so reluctantly I’m going to let somebody else make it beautiful again. It has 5 good tyres alloys, etc etc only has 5 seats Currently as two of the back seats are not there. Starts great and drives beautiful with lovely tight gearbox and Steering.  If you can do your own maintenance (welding) it’s a gift. I have had a quote today for £1200 to replace the whole of the rear chassis by a specialist which is what I intend to do if nobody snaps it up, as I am a perfectionist but anyone with basic welding knowledge could easily fix it.

My 90, I can say it has never let me down, it is a solid car.

I have tried to be honest with my description only selling because my family want to build a rat rod. 

The vehicle had paint stripper thrown over it a few years ago so it will show as a financial right off on a search. 

i purchased the vehicle back and had it professionally resprayed.It is not a factory CSW.

Good points. 

1. 120,000 genuine mileage.

3. Solid bulkhead and chassis. 
4. 50mm wheel spacers. 
5. Karnn style body kit. 
6. Twisted performance style wheels. 
7. Tubular bumper. 
8. NAS spec rear step.

12. Chequer plate wings, sills and rear quarters.  
13. Stainless fixings throughout.

15. The chassis is solid but could do with a waxoil.

Bad bits. 

1. R8 drivers seat needs new plastic parts. 
2. Rear door has aluminum bubbling but is sound. 
3. Front and rear floor mats need replacing.

5. Small amount of damage to one of the fiberglass wings.
6. Rear wiper does not work.

10 months MOT

It is a very original motor. One of the first Defenders to have a TD5 engine. There are no added parts, with some that have been updated. It has done 105,000 miles, but had a newer TD5 engine fitted in its early years. It has 10 months MOT and passed first time. It has had 2 owners from new, having been used on a farm for most of its life. It is a very reliable work horse that will go anywhere. There is a little rust and the paint has started to flake in some places, which is common of a vehicle of this age. The drivers side door doesn't have a key barrel but i have one ready to install and the door has to be slammed shut. The chassis is solid. It has had new shocks and springs fitted to the rear, making it a much smoother ride. It also comes with a Landcover Jack and a Pioneer radio/ CD player with two added speakers.

Couple of bad points but what defender hasnt, both front doors will need work on the bottoms in the near future, it has been used for green laning so does have some minor dents, marks, scratches but nothing to serious, chassis is mint never been welded as is the bulkhead. Starts first time and runs and drives great

This has lots of power and revs freely throughout the range and goes through all of the gears as it should. This does pull like a train with no hesitation

Just has 4 brand new brake calipers and pads all round and also had 2 new repair section welded in the bottom of the front doors so they are solid. (the repair section used where the ones on the market which come with about 3 inches of upright on them so is a good strong job)

Sellers Comments - 1999 Landrover Defender TD5 Regrettably I have to sell my pride and joy due to buying a house. It really is a superb example that has NEVER BEEN WELDED. I bought this about a year ago and since then I have given it some tender love and care which I have detailed below. If you are looking for a genuine Low mileage Defender then look no further. It has only covered 64,000 miles and has service history and MOT history to back this up. It will have a full years MOT when sold. I haven't used it off road since owning it and the previous owner didn't do much in it either. Since owning this vehicle the work I have done is as follows: New Mudflaps Front and Rear Full Major Service Re-trimed interior with Exmoor Trim and Leather Cubby Box Seat bases and Bumper Sand Blasted and Power coated New Swivel Balls, Seals + Gaskets Safari Snorkel Fitted As you can see I have spent a fair bit of money on her but was intending on keeping it for a long time! It has never been welded and I showing very little sign of rust. Even along the rear door is very clean. It has clearly had some paint in its time and could do with a respray again to make it immaculate but on the whole it is very good! When I bought this vehicle the previous owner had a hatch cut in the roof which he used to go shooting. it is water tight and very unique. This is a superb opportunity to own a low mileage defender which is only going to go up in value! Viewing is strongly suggested and any independent checks are welcome. It does also have an immobiliser fitted which helps with the insurance. Only think to note is the vehicle was a Category D back in 2001.
