Land Rover Series 3 Soft Top - 1978

Sellers Comments Selling my rag top classic Landy as I've currently got no time to enjoy it. Grab some cheap summer fun and a handy 4x4 rolled into one. My Landy starts, runs and drives really well. Usual dents, scrapes etc that you would expect on a Land Rover of this age. Fitted with new door tops and a reconditioned Webber carburettor. This is a very useable project vehicle and comes with a long MOT. The chassis is good but the bulkhead needs some work. i.e passenger side footwell and top corners. Top corner repair panels are supplied with the car. There is also a short truck cab style soft top supplied with the car which is brand new. Feel free to ask any questions. Don't expect a new car but a useable and fun project that is only increasing in value. Buyer collects from Warrington, Cheshire and should feel confident to drive this car back to anywhere in the uk. 1978 SERIES 3 SWB LAND ROVER PETROL

Sellers Comments Good chassis and bulkhead. New tyres. We have done a lot of work on the interior as is shown on photos. New road springs. New clutch master cylinder and radiator Good paint work. Good gearbox, no louder than you would expect. Overdrive and four wheel drive work as normal. Brakes good. Nearly new exhaust. The last owner, plus myself, have kept a full service history and record of all parts bought and fitted dating to 1999. Also been kept undercover. It has passed the last two M.O.T. tests with no advisories. This vehicle is tax exempt after Dec next year. I am reluctantly selling my Land Rover due to ill health.

1978 defender hybrid v8 challenge truck

Land Rover 88'' Series 3 1978

Series 3 1978 SWB petrol Land Rover.

Unfinished project, however doesn't need a lot doing to complete it.

Its been painted except for the tub .

Not a Galv Chassis however I do have one

Its very standard as you can see in the pictures,

Got the nice seats too, and have been refurbished.

Only thing it does require is a gear box but really easy to find for these old Land Rovers.

I do have a few spares for sale as I'm a bit of a Land Rover nut but this one needs to go for space.

If you do buy it you will need a trailer to take it away.

1978 88" Land Rover Series 3 Diesel SWB, Ex RAF Landrover

For Sale, my Landrover which I have owned since 2012. It is ex RAF, its 12v and has had no military equipment added to it. RAF number and ident plate present. It left the RAF as a petrol and was converted to diesel sometime later. It has a Q plate registration. It was built in 1978 and was registered for civilian use in 1992.
It has a Fairy Overdrive, freewheeling hubs and rear seats, all gears work as they should (no jumping out) the gearbox was replaced with a recon one in 2010. It drives and stops well, its solid, it has a couple small oil leaks as Landrovers do, other than the engine change its as orginal as you'll get. The rear tub is chequer plated. The V5 is present. The mileage shown on the clock is 13416, this is not its total mileage as the clock was replace in 2013 this is shown on the MOT certificate in the Odometer Reading and History section, the replacement clock had 12000ish miles on it to start with. During my ownership the following  new parts have been fitted:

• ·         Starter motor
• ·         Fuel Tank
• ·         Shock absorbers
• ·         Clutch master and slave cylinder
• ·         Engine sump
• ·         Brake shoes all-round

• ·         Inner wheel arches / mud panels
• ·         Lights rewired with relays
• ·         Front door panels and window channels/seals
• ·         Transmission brake shoes and oil seal

The paint work is not at its best, there is peeling to some areas especialy on the wing tops.
