Sellers Comments - This Land Rover was purchased by my late husband from a local farm when we "Escaped to the Country". Sadly, he was unable to use it due to ill health. It has been used by us only to drive my daughter to her wedding. A local garage has examined the vehicle and I have details of work it will require to pass a MOT. Resprayed Bronze Green , nice straight panels .excellent bulkhead

As  part of a body off rebuild the landrover has had a

 replacement rear X member and outriggers , chassis was stripped and

 re-undersealed .the chassis was then fully waxoyled internally .

Fitted with a replacement fuel tank ,shock absorbers

new water pump and all wheel cylinders,

all lights overhauled , and rewired to the rear,

all electrics are working as they should.

The land rover benefits from the following :

excellent swivels (chrome balls) fitted with leather gaiters , rear bench seats , 5 x Toyo open country m+s tyres with great tread.

engine has just been serviced , and all other  levels checked as required ,zenith carb 

The engine is free from oil leaks , the gearbox performs well with no jumping out of gear , good clutch.

She drives fine , with no wandering on  the road .

There is a bottle jack and brace in the tool box .

Original military reg. number 26 RN 89 (think that makes it Royal Navy?)

 

This is RHD No 1321, I understand only 1893 RHD and 1096 LHD of these Land Rovers were built so it is a very rare vehicle especially in this condition.

 

Very good chassis

Very good bulkhead

Very straight bodywork 

Hardly any rust

Metallic brown paintwork - looks very good.

Usual military lightweight spec, e.g. strengthened front and rear axles, front and rear military bumpers, twin fuel tanks (but only one currently piped in), 2 piece tailgate etc....

It has the following upgrades

Discovery 200tdi engine that runs very well still with turbo and intercooler fitted. Looks like a nice conversion. It is more powerful and more economical than the standard engine.

Originally it had 2 1/4 (2286cc 4 cylinder) Petrol engine. I have a complete spare 2286cc petrol engine that is available to the winning bidder for an additional £200 if you would like to make it more original.

High ratio Range Rover type (3.5) diffs – these enable it to cruse at 70mph

Body mounted role bar 

Rocky mountain parabolic springs

Pro Comp Shock absorbers

LWB Brakes with servo

Kenlow fan

Fairy Free Wheel Hubs

Front seat belts

Defender door mirrors

High back seats etc…

Offed for sale is this 1975 swb series 3 Land rover with a safari roof and a 2286cc engine.

A beautifully restored short wheel base Land Rover

It has a current MOT valid until Nov. 2017 with no advisory's . since the start of the project it has always been garaged.. I have receipts for much of the expenditure on this project,costs that have been numerous.

The chassis and bulk head are sound,the engine stars first time and runs well with no mechanical issues.It has a four speed gear box without overdrive.  

The wheels have been shot blast and professionally sprayed. 

It has been fitted with ;

NEW DOORS ALL ROUND WITH NEW HINGES

NEW rubber door seals all round

NEW Exmoor front seats and chubby box.

New Exmoor rear bench seats and seat belt (cost £290.00)

NEW rear door step.

NEW carburetor fitted two weeks ago. 

NEW replacement sliding window runners  all round.

NEW La Salle side and door trim (cost £625.00) 

It has had a professional re spray  (colors are RAL6015 and Limestone)It has also had complete oil change to engine, both axles, gear box and transfer box at the same time   the oil filter was changed.

There are numerous other parts fitted with recites to show such as temperature sensor ,brake light switch  safari roof spacers(£68.00) door check rods/straps and chequer plate for the rear. 

I would estimate that in excess of £4000.just on materials that excludes the even greater labor element. You have to see this vehicle to truly appreciate the standard of finish that's been achieved.    I have recently acquired from the DVLA  the full history of this vehicle which will be passed on to the new owner. Even though I have attempted  to be accurate with this  listing I do recommend viewing  prior to bidding as returns are not accepted.

For Sale - Land Rover Series 1 , Ex Military , 1956 - £3750 - ONO - Esher

Sellers Comments - Land rover series 1, 88 inch , 1956 , Ex military De mobbed in 1966 and road registered hence the D reg, comes with Heritage certificate to confirm manufacture date of 22nd October 1956 on chassis number 111700*** An age related plate could be applied for but it would be a shame as this Landy comes complete with its original logbook and varies other documents as pictured. This Land rover has been off the road for approx 25 years and requires a full restoration, it was originally a petrol but has been converted to a 2.25 diesel at some point in its life, i had the engine running approx one year ago and it sounded fine but has not run since, gearbox and drive train are untested. body work is fairly straight apart from the crunch on the nearside rear as shown in the picture, chassis needs a reasonable amount of welding but in my opinion is saveable, chassis number is still visable on the dumb iron. Bulkhead is very rotten and would properly need replacing. The Land Rover is located in Kt10 Surrey and will need trailering away, it does roll freely so shouldn't be a problem to move. Cash on collection preferred but will also accept back transfer.

Lots of work carried out including welding to chassis (outriggers and dumb irons), all now solid including rear cross member and bulkhead. Fitted with free wheeling hubs and fairy overdrive plus rocky mountain parabolic springs. Recently converted to petrol and mechanically sound.
