Land Rover lightweight,date built 1st Feb 1979

Sellers Comments - Here we have my Land Rover lightweight, date built 1st Feb 1979,date of dispatch,10th Feb 1979,Destination (dealer) Central Army Vehicle Depot,Hilton (for C.A.V.D.,Ashchurch) Label (line) 3/335. She is a 12v 2.25 petrol with 36k reading on the clock which I was told is genuine,I found this lightweight in a barn in June, she has been off the road since 2007 until I bought her, after some tinkering and fitting new plugs, coil, points, leads, distributer cap and arm and drained the old petrol and filling with fresh fuel she fired up.

I drove her 10miles home with no issues,I have had to clean an free the brakes and adjust the wheel bearings with some added fresh grease along with a rub down and fresh paint with NATO green and Matt black, this was done via a roller but has come up very well and is tough and durable paint.

I put her in for mot in August and all she needed was the brake light switch adjusted again and the sidelight sorting, the only advisory was the windscreen marked, although she should of had two advisorys due to the left hand footwell needing repair which I haven't been able to do due to recent hand injury, otherwise I would repair with ease as I'm a welder/mechanic by trade, the chassis is perfect and not a patch work qualt, she has had a new rear quarter chassis in the past.

Onto the bulkhead now and the prone top panel is again perfect along with the rest of the bulkhead, the only part being the footwell needing repair but that's the only welding repair needed.
Fitted with a good Fairey Overdrive and Free wheeling hubs is another added bonus reducing fuel costs and improves driving over 55mph,she drives very well with no excessive free play in the steering or slack in the drivetrain or excessive oil leaks, perhaps a few minor drips from the gearbox nothing to be overly concerned about.

The clutch has a slight Judder when pulling away but I'm not a clutch rider so it's not an issue, the brakes are spot on as to be expected as I've checked cleaned and adjusted the brakes,no spongy pedal or pulling when braking,as a lot of people seem to say, they are all like that, well not any of my series Landys as I actually like to maintain mine :)

The engine runs lovely and has been fitted with a Webber carb, she pulls well and has no excessive smoke ,she could benefit from an oil change now as not been able to do this due to recent hand injury although the oil is still very clean, along with a fresh coolant change, the cooling fan has been removed and a kenlow kit fitted.
Interior is in good condition with a seat upgrade to cloth series seats with head rests which in my opinion do not suit a lightweight But are comfy, the heater unit works well and is complete, along with that is a military fire extinguisher in passenger side footwell area which adds to the character, the doors are good, but drivers door top is a tad ropy but is still strong and not swinging in the wind but will need to be replaced in the near future,on a positive note they are just standard series door tops and readily available unlike some lightweight parts which as people who are in the know are hard to come by nowadays, and complete vehicles are fetching silly money.

In terms of service history all I have is the last mot certificate from 2007 a heritage certificate issued 2014 a complete Land Rover lightweight army manual and an old V5 along with the current up to date V5 the same owner since 1998 only 3 former keepers.

The hood and sticks are in good condition and she is water proof but the hood is showing signs of age so not new, back bench seats are fitted along with lap belts, the split tailgate is good with the straps to hold the pic axe and shovel sadly I don't have these but they do come up on here from time to time.
She has not been used as an off road toy but a piece of military history I have driven her like 30 miles since she was motd,so I'm testing the waters here as I'm not in a great rush to sell and a realistic reserve is set, viewing is welcome by appointment and test drives around the block so to speak.

Land Rover Series 2 109 Double Cab - 200TDi & 5 Speed Gearbox - Selectable 4WD

Sellers Comments - I am selling my much loved Land Rover Series 2.
The reason its being sold is purely I am looking to downsize the amount of vehicles I have before moving.

Let me describe the vehicle, it is an ex military ambulance that met an unfortunate demise in the rear body department, now fitted with a stage 1 back body with a double cab roof which  was professionally  tig welded together to fit. The rear part of the cab is off a defender (off an ex James Bond Film Defender) and the front is standard Series. Rear doors are the rare split door version (but unfortunately someone before me fitted speakers in the door cards. Has Defender seats all round.
Chassis is the heavy duty combat chassis with parabolic springs fitted all round. Engine is a 200Tdi with recent cambelt with a full Steve Parker exhaust system fitted. Gearbox & transfer box is a Defender unit with selectable 4WD. Painted in RAF Blue Grey.

Chassis is good and benefits from a replacement crossmember, Chassis is not bent or cracked but has had some repairs in the past. Overall a good useable chassis.
Bulkhead is in good condition, needing no work or repairs as this was all done previously.

This vehicle has plenty of modern features such as hazards, speakers (but no stereo) soundproofing, rear fog light, reverse light etc but still retaining the character and charm of a series vehicle. This has been into Europe several times and has never let me down. I would jump in this and go with this Land Rover.

Summary:
12 Months MOT
200TDi with recent cambelt
Defender transfer and gearbox
Ashcroft selectable 4wd conversion
Custom made roof
Sound proofing
G90 Tyres on Series rims
Parabolic leaf springs
Defender seats
Upgraded Headlights and spotlights through a relays
Steve Parker exhaust system
Split rear safari doors
Freewheeling Hubs
Rocky Mountain door tops

Some people wanted to check the vehicle history online but were unable to do so. I have looked into this and the reason is that the vehicle is registered as an Rover not Land Rover.
It is registered as a Rover Ambulance with its military designation.

So if you want to check MOT or Tax etc please enter WFO 805 and make as Rover then all the information will come up.

This is a used vehicle so there are signs of wear and tear on the vehicle.
Please bid to buy and not kick tyres

Landrover 6x4 V8 military landrover

Sellers Comments - landrover 6x4 1986. here I have a landrover 6x4 defender, one of a kind conversion. A huge amount of time was spent to make this a one off landrover. as you can see the 2b back body looks superb on the chassis. this is a petrol V8 with a modified chassis and a 2b back body installed. all sides and rear can be undone and hinged down. ideal for access. five speed gearbox. new front discs. new clutch master and slave cylinders. 6 brand new tyres. fully undersealed chassis in black. looks superb. 12 months mot. this would be a superb vehicle to use at a show or to make into a camper conversion with hoopsticks and a canvas hood.

Land Rover Defender Blind Spot Mirror RH - MUD UK - DA6550R

Land-Rover-Defender-Blind-Spot-Mirror-RH-MUD-UK-DA6550R
Land Rover Defender Blind Spot Mirror RH - MUD UK - DA6550R The MUD Defender Blind Spot Mirror is the latest innovative Defender product to come from the MUD design team. Working closely with one of Europe's leading mirror manufacturers, MUD has created a retrofit mirror for the Land Rover Defender that incorporates a wide angle convex mirror to eliminate potentially dangerous blind spots. The Blind Spot Mirror function offers a huge improvement in road safety, making lane changing manoeuvres safer whether you're in slow or fast moving traffic. Mirrors are sold in Right-hand and Left-hand configurations. The convex section is fixed and not adjustable. The surface area of the XL Defender Mirror Head measures 245 x 140 (mm) compared with the standard mirror glass area of 198 x 124 (mm). The mirror area of the MUD Blind Spot mirror is 173mm x 127mm, and the convex section is 52mm x127mm. The MUD Blind Spot mirror is a straight swap for the original Defender door mirrors, using the same fixing method as the factory mirrors and even retain the same styling as the original Defender door mirror to ensure an OE factory appearance. The MUD Blind Spot Mirror is housed within a larger mirror head that in addition to providing a larger reflective surface area than the standard Defender mirror glass, features the convex wide angle mirror glass. The mirror insert can be flipped through 180 degrees within the mirror head so the wide-angle can be positioned at the top or the bottom of the mirror. The MUD Blind Spot Mirror has been fully homologated, E marked and carries full EU Type Approval. We can also supply the mirrors etched with "Objects in Mirror Are Closer Than They Appear" text to comply with North American Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard legislation. Replacement is straightforward. The Defender XL door mirror uses the same clamp fixing at the standard mirror head.

Land Rover series 3 - 1972

Sellers Comments - I am selling my TAX exempt Land Rover series 3. It has a 2.8 TGV engine fitted, 5 speed LT77 gearbox, locking diffs Power steering, Galv Chassis and a webasco arctic heater with remote. Last year a new rear floor was fitted. The paint looks a little tired and I've been meaning to return it to its original Marine Blue. Mileage is pretty much unknown as the speedo has change twice in an effort to find the correct one for the vehicle. Excellent runner, which I use every day for work and pleasure. On purchase you will get any spares I might have. Any questions or viewings please contact through Ebay.

Land Rover Series 1 109" Fire Engine ex Cheshire Fire Brigade

Welcome to my auction for my 1957 Series 1 LWB Land Rover ex Cheshire County Fire Brigade.
It was first registered on the 1st of March 1957.
It is a 109” LWB Land Rover with a 1997cc petrol engine and standard 4 speed gear box with a hi / low transfer box and 2 and 4 wheel drive etc.
It is a great useable classic that is MOT and Tax exempt and very cheap to insure (it only costs me £68 a year fully comp for 3,000 miles!)
The rear tub has huge capacity as it is 6’3” long by 5’ wide and can carry 1,500 lbs!
The doors and windows lock!

I am selling it as I have not used it much recently and am short of space.

It went from the Land Rover factory to David Rosenfield Ltd a Land Rover dealer in Manchester
They supplied it to Cheshire County Fire Brigade as a L4P (light four-wheel-driven pump).
It was originally stationed at Hazel Grove.
It then moved to Stalybridge. I was a specialist Hi Expansion Foam Unit which is quite rare. It was probably converted to this configuration to meet the need for fire fighting at chemical plants in the area.
As a result it is much more useable than other fire engines as it does not have the normal water tank and pump etc so has all the LWB capacity and none of the extra weight of other fire engines.
It left the fire brigade on 14th of May 1975 and was sold at Bradshaws Auction Manchester.
The previous owner did a lot of research and found all this history along with 8 photos of it in service! It is great to have all this history. I’ve included one of the photos in the listing so you can see the then and now comparison.
It lost it reg number a few years ago and carried reg no SSK504 for a while until very luckily I managed to track down it’s original number and buy it back.
If you google SSK504 and / or YTU390, quite a lot of history comes up.
It comes with British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate, correspondence about it's history, photos etc.

It is very original, I believe the engine, gear box etc are original but the engine number was not recorded on the log book / V5 or the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate so cannot be sure. It looks very similar to how it looked in the photos of it in the Fire Brigade.

It is in great condition for a 58 year old vehicle. It’s speedo only shows 5,725 miles but I do not think this is the original mileage. The chassis is very solid and the bulkhead is in great condition as well. The engine starts easily and runs very well and does not burn to use oil. Everything works as it should even the Winkworth Bell, I am sure it would easily pass an MOT although it is not required as it is MOT exempt. The body work is nice and straight and the paint work is good and looks very well but nether are perfect. It drive well, we drove it to France for the weekend a couple of years ago.
