Land Rover series 3 - 109

Sellers Comments - This is my 1972 Land Rover 109 series 3. I bought this Landy in November its something ive always wanted and with me heading back to Scotland to live it was to be my every day vehicle, work horse and something i would keep around forever, But plans have now changed and this wont be happening well not in the near future anyway. The Landy itself is MOTed and of coarse tax free due to age i insured it for£88 a year amazingly. This is not a pristine fully restored vehicle its 44 years old and been used its been hand painted at some point but it isnt bad, the usual bulkhead rust has been addressed by last owner but not brilliantly and needs painted but this was stuff i was looking forward to sorting myself. Mechanically it all seems sound to me although it smokes but ive been told the timing is out and needs adjusted although i would not tackle anything mechanical like that as i learned my lesson trying to fix my hedge cutter which is still in bits. Chassis has been well undersealed over the years and i guess thats whats protected it and all looks as it should to me. It has a full canvas with 2 bench seats in rear there is also a thick tarp rear tub cover if you wish to remove canvas and use as a pick up. There are various other bits and pieces that come with it including another fuel pump, roof bar, full front bull bar with spot lights etc and a stack of wheels. I even got my hands on a huge maintenance manual. There is also 3 sets of keys and basic glove box manual. A Fairley overdrive is fitted which gives a wee bit extra speed, free wheeling hubs, a towbar, hand throttle even a good working heater for an old land rover anyway. If i think of anything else i will add it. Please remember the age of this vehicle it doesnt drive like a new car but its still a good experience all the same. Can i please make any potential buyers aware that vehicle will not be available to view/ collect from Friday 18th until 28th so amy time before or any time after is fine. Please excuse any errors in advert as i have had to do it by phone. Im also not sure of date of manufacture or mileage but i will update

Series 1 Land Rover

Sellers Comments - welcome to the auction for our landrover series 1. a reluctant sale of this much loved classic. the car runs and drives well and looks the part. chassis is solid has signs of past repairs, bulkhead is solid as are the panels and doors. the interior is clean and tidy and we have used the vehicle for car shows and local days out its been a pleasure to own. first registered on  10th feb 1955 with 6 former keepers so to my mind that gives each owner just over ten years each. drivers side wiper motor is no good but apart from that all the electricals are good. has been barn stored all the time its been with us but unfortunatley thats no longer available. i strongly suggest you come and have a look i describe it as very tidy.

It has 42,000 miles showing which is believed genuine
As the pictures show this is by no means showroom condition
There is no mot with this vehicle
It was last mot'd October 2015 when it failed & has not been done or used since
It has been welded previously & can clearly be seen where it was done although not a bad job
The engine is very good was driven 50 miles here with no problem
The gearbox is good & changes through the gears with no issues
Axle is fine with no whines
The brakes just do not exist, the peddle hits the floor & it doesn't stop!!!
There are no indicators working either
The vehicle is a 1979 but shows registered on HPi as 1991 due to being Ex Military
This is an easy restoration for someone that knows what they are doing
It will need to be collected with a trailer or flatbed due to brakes & lights not working

1965 Land Rover series 2a SWB 88" ex military for spares repairs or restoration.

Sellers Comments - this Ex military Series 2a Land Rover. I think it could be ex RAF, but I'm sure someone will put me right on that.... This, obviously will require complete restoration. It had been used as a breakdown truck by the local garage here in Usk until it was parked up in 2002, first it was kept indoors, then later was evicted and has spent the last few years outside braving the elements. It joined civilian life in 1974 and was correctly registered as a 1965 vehicle with a "C" registration. (many were registered as if they were new vehicles) It would appear to have had just two previous owners since 1974. Other than the fitting of a truck cab, much of the original military equipment remains intact, which must make this a worthwhile project for the military vehicle enthusiast. The chassis has not survived particularly well. There are large holes along the length of the o/s chassis leg. The n/s is in better shape but has a large hole near the rear fuel tank outrigger. Basically it will need a lot of welding or a new chassis. The bulkhead is rusty but should be a good basis for repair using the available repair panels. Many series 2 bulkheads are now getting to the point where they are just not worth the bother. The front panel seems sound. Generally the bodywork is fairly straight in Land Rover terms other than the o/s rear wing which has been beaten straight at some point and has cracked. The Land Rover has been hand painted in a horrible shade of green hammerite but this is now peeling off in sheets to reveal the original military paint, still in surprisingly good condition! The engine runs if you pour petrol straight into the carburettor.... I could not get it to pump fuel from the tank to the carb... but then again, I didn't spend long messing with it. It rolls freely and steers easily, however both brake and clutch pedals have seized, so the Land Rover can not be driven. Other mechanical parts are therefore in unknown condition, but there is no reason to believe that there should be any serious problems here. It has a current V5c document and both the normal chassis plate and the military plate on the bulkhead. The registration number would appear to be transferable.
