The Land Rover Defender is an off-road vehicle produced under this name by the British manufacturer, Land Rover, since 1991. However, the vehicle is the direct heir of the first Land Rover that made its debut in 1948. The first prototype was built by the British automaker in 1947 and it was designed for the army. This iconic car was improved over the years and it has been known for generations as a national treasure.

Land rover Series 3 1974
Sellers Comments Hi welcome to the listing of my land rover series 3 88inc. I have had this land rover since December 2014. The previous owner used this to go around his farm and as you can see it has a hatch cut out of the roof. It also has 4 spotlights on a light bar, all working, led light in the rear for night time use and a spot light at the back all working. 2 tow hitches front and rear and with all electrics working fine. It has bench seats in the back with seatbelts they can also be folded up, so you could carry 7 people if needed. Cb radio, the tyres are all good with plenty of tread left on them with modular wheels (235 85 R16). It also has chequer plating, a steering guard fitted, and over drive. The previous owner fitted the following new parts. Full exhaust, fuel pump and bushes on the front and back. I have replaced the fuel tank and sender, both door tops, had a reconditioned steer box fitted, replaced the steering damper and one new front wheel bearing. I have changed all the oils and wax oiled the underside. There is some rust coming through on the bulkhead below the windscreen and a few dents due to age. It is painted army green. It has a 2286 petrol engine stamped preserved on the block, and the mileage is 18550. It starts first time; runs just like a land rover should do. The steering is typical of a 40 year old land rover it has been improved since the service exchange steering box has been fitted. The MOT expires on the 2nd October 2015. It is now road tax free

1971 Tax Free SWB Series LAND ROVER 88" Diesel Truck Cab Overdrive Long MOT
Sellers Comments - For sale my SWB 1971 Road Tax free land rover with overdrive and long MOT. Its a truck cab at the moment (half height back door) which means in an hour you can unbolt the roof and door tops and you've got a full convertible. She has had 4 brand new expensive road biased tyres fitted at the last MOT (over £400 alone). Freewheeling hubs. The old girl has obviously had a new replacement chassis at some stage as you can see from the underside photos. The front spring hangers have had some welding more recently and in an ideal world although they are solid I'd be inclined to get them replaced as new ones are only around £85 a pair and it would leave the underside in very good order. The rear crossmember and all the nasty places that these can go is in very good order (again see the pics). The car starts and drives well for one of these (I've had 5 or 6 and this is a very good one). The only reason for sale is I'm having a clear out to spend on new roof and getting my other Landy back on the road (which won't be for sale!!). The bulkhead is in very sound order as are the footwells. As is often the case the much thinner metal area on the inside of the bulkhead has had a little rust in the area around the dash/vents and could do with a coat of hammerite to keep it from progressing. There is no radio other than the period Roberts Radio which I'd guess has been used in the car since new- only mono and LW/MW from its little speaker I'm afraid but at least you can pick up the shipping forecast and the cricket. So, if you know what you are looking at here these old girls and going through the roof in value at the moment with Landrover stopping production of the Defenders. Its dead cheap motoring with spares very cheap and easily found. The road tax is obviously free. I'm 48, live in South West London and she costs me less than £90 a year to insure with Adrian Flux on a limited 3,000 miles PA policy. With the overdrive in and cruising at 45mph it will happily do 30mpg being the diesel (the petrol ones while a little smoother do well to get over 20mpg in my experience. She's not new, she's 45 years old. Some of the paintwork is original, a lot has been repainted over the years and there are areas which could do with new paint now (like the inside of the doors). She won't win any concourse prizes but she gets a load of smiles from passers by and you'll be grinning as you potter around too. Cash sale (or half of the money goes to my ex) from Surbiton in Surrey. I'm letting the auction run unless you have very deep pockets. The lucky buyer will need to arrange collection from my house within 7 days from close of the auction having transfered over £100 deposit within an hour of the sale end to prove you are genuine.

1959 LAND ROVER
Sellers Comments Welcome to my auction for my 1959 Landrover Series 2 petrol. I have owned this for about 10 years and had the intention of sticking a V8 in it and using it as a fun vehicle. The trouble is a 90 came along and this poor old girl was left at the top of the garden. I did a lot of work on the chassis but from what I can see it would need the rear cross member and both front dumb irons replaced at the very least although from what I can remember the rest seemed structurally sound. I had contemplated changing the chassis but that would destroy the history of the vehicle. As you can see it was first registered in 1977 hence the S registration and the log book also says it was rebuilt- assembled from parts some or all which were not new. I do have a letter from the heritage trust confirming the Chassis number relates to a chassis manufactured in October 1959. I don't know any other history but presume it was imported or ex military or just built up in 1977 on an old chassis. It is classed as a historic vehicle so it tax and MOT free!!! I have replaced the leaf springs with parabolic springs and changed the brake cylinders several years ago and also replaced the outer front wings, drivers door bottom and radiator. It starts and moves under its own steam but really needs a total rebuild or at least chassis repairs, brakes, engine service and possibly gearbox rebuild. It is 56 years old so basically you wont be able to drive it home, there may be bits missing but its generally all there and in not totally falling to bits. It comes with the split rear door where the top part lifts up. Apparently quite rare. It was last mot'ed in 2003. The only reason I have decided to sell it is because I just don't have the time to give it the attention it needs and hate to see it rusting away although if it does not sell it will be driven back up the top of the garden and left for another 10 years!! I have seen these fetching crazy money when fully restored! I guess it would be best to come and have a look at it before you bid but I am happy to honestly answer any questions about the condition of the truck although I think the pictures give you a good idea! If you do bid and you win, it is to buy and not just have a look. I have the V5 in my name. I would prefer cash on collection and clearly this is collection only and it will need to be trailered away. I have this listed elsewhere so have the right to remove at any point.

1960 LAND ROVER 88' (series 2)
For sale is my series 2 land rover, not a 2a advertised as a 2.
First 4 digits of the vehicle number are 1410
The motor is original and starts almost first time every time, runs and drives fine.
I currently run it on a k&n filter but original oil bath filter is included in the sale for anyone wanting to take it back to original.
I believe it has an alternator instead of a dynamo, installed by a previous owner
Chassis and bulkhead fine, had an mot june and passed
Has fairey overdrive hubs as pictured
Also has overdrive system for better motorway driving.
Original land rover mats
Paint is flaking in patches from one of the previous owners painting with a brush, other parts are original faded paint.
Bad points are;
the seats are ripped and faded
Door seals need replacing
Some may say needs a respray but i personally like the paintwork, more character.
Sold as seen
no warranty implied or given
