Welcome to this auction for my 1963 Series 2a hybrid 3.5 V8.
I have had this since last June and have loved every minute of it. It started
life as a Series 2a but was put on a Range Rover Classic chassis. This gives it
coils, discs all round and power steering which makes it so much nicer to
drive. It also has had a Defender front end added which gives the big V8 more
space under the bonnet.
When I got it in June I put brand new Pro Comp shocks,
springs, cranked trailing arms and radius arms. I also had the twin stack
exhaust custom built out of stainless steel which exits out of the rear bed.
These cost £400 alone and make the V8 sound awesome!
Inside is typical of a series land rover, very minimal with
no radio (the V8 is the only sound track needed) but does benefit from a
working heater which is a bonus.
In the back of the load area is a van vault secure box and 2
smaller tool boxes which are bolted down.
She has twin snorkels, one for the heater intake and the
other for the engine air intake. It is currently disconnected but I have the
standard air box and piping if you choose to go wading!
There is a top of the range flat dog LED light bar which
gives immense light at night, this is 3 months old and cost £299 alone. LED
indicators and side lights are fitted. I have also put on a Defender front
winch bumper which obviously does not fit properly and needs a bit of welding.
(They do not make a winch bumper for Series Landy's) I will include the
standard series bumper.
It has large wheel arches added to accommodate lager
diameter wheels and tyres and give a wider stance.
If was to keep here I would want to get a few jobs sorted:
Repaint the exterior
Paint the interior and engine bay
Fabricate brackets for front bumper
Please note this will NOT come with the wheels pictured, it
will come with standard land rover wheels which will make it look funny as it
has wide arches but I will be needing them for my new truck I'm afraid
Cash on collection only, I have been messed about enough on
ebay enough so you bid to buy not come and haggle. I encourage you to come and
view as it is very old, it is a rickety ride and very loud but that is all part
of the charm of an old Landy.
She has just been serviced so ready to go. MOT is till April
and will sail through again as the chassis is in good condition.
