LAND ROVER SERIES 3 LWB 109 HARD TOP 6 CYL EX FIRE BRIGADE
For sale by no reserve auction is an Ex Fire Brigade Series 3 2.6 6 cylinder Land Rover.
This Land Rover is in very original condition. It is also very solid and non rusty for the age. I suspect it spent a good deal of its life stored inside.
I will describe to the best of my ability but this is my opinion so please make your own mind up before bidding.
Ex West Sussex Fire Brigade – see old photo.
Very solid for age
Would have been red as per the old photo but painted blue at some point since it Fire Brigade days.
6 Cylinder has the bigger front brakes.
Bodywork is fairly straight apart from the front outer wing skins.
Fire brigade parts still in place – switch panel, charging socket, door pockets etc.
Galvanised roof rack.
MOT certs from Nov 2005- Jan 2014.
Various receipts for previous works/parts.
Previous owner stated the gearbox and clutch was replaced recently.
Seats have been changed out for later type high back ones and have covers.
Bench seat in rear
Halogen head lights.
Brand New Carburettor installed.
Chassis number on the chassis and bulkhead.
Clutch needs bleeding/fixing and is not working.
Blue paint lifting back to the previous Fire Brigade red.
Ignition switch is intermittent and needs looking at. Cuts out electrics when driving.
There is a water leak on the engine when running - see photo. I suspect the water pump is the issue.
There is an engine tap on running.
The battery in the pictures will be removed prior to sale.
The exhaust and manifold will be removed as I borrowed it from another vehicle to check the running. I will include the original manifold. It is solid but damaged around 1 of the 3 studs.
Wheels and tyres not the best.
This has been a well looked after Land Rover that has not been messed around with and is very original. It is also generally very solid both in the chassis and bulkhead.
The vehicle will need to be trailed away within 7 days of the auction completing.
Cash on collection.
UK bidders only and please contact me if you have less than 10 feedback before bidding.
