Land Rover Series 2a 1968 SWB NO RESERVE - Location - Northwich, United Kingdom

Sellers Comments

I have owned this lovely Landrover since 1998. It has been used reguarly throughout the last 17 years. It has only done 58,000 miles in its 47 year life! I have always had it maintained properly. It comes with a new MOT. It is tax exempt.

Good bits
Original chassis and engine both in good condition. Full engine rebuild 5 years ago. Good body work. Good tyres with plenty of life left in them. Free wheeling hubs.

Bad bits.
Paint work ok but could do with a respray some time. The passenger side wing is dented and could probably do with another if you want it perfect. The door tops are rusty at the bottom and could do with replacing, again if you want it perfect. The diesel engine is noisy and slow. As it was when it was made! It does about 50mph!

This is a good honest old Landy. It works well and has nothing to hide. I have too many Land rovers and no space for them. I will be sad to see it go. Sold without reserve.
It will be great for the summer with the roof off.

Please no time wasters. I did advertise it last year but some idiot bid and didn't pay. Just got round to listing it again. No bidders with feedback less than 25 and no one with positive feedback for not paying! If this is you, your bid will be cancelled.

£500 immediate paypal deposit required from winning bidder with cash on collection, which should be within 3 days of auction end unless we organise something else. Many thanks

LANDROVER SERIES 2A LWB DIESEL 1962 1164 DF FOR RESTORATION ONLY 1 OWNER FROM NEW AND HIGH SPECIFICATION

LANDROVER SERIES 2A LWB DIESEL 1962 1164 DF FOR RESTORATION

ONLY 1 OWNER FROM NEW AND HIGH SPECIFICATION

hello and welcome all to my auction, for your consideration is this landrover series 2a lwb diesel dating from 1962 and registered  1164 DF,  recently pulled from its resting place in a barn where it has sat untouched for many many years upon the death of its owner, originally purchased new when he was just 16 years of age and used by him until the 1990s when an engine failure deemed the landrover U/S, the landrover was then parked in a barn and left, only to see the light of day again in november of 2014 upon his death and the dispersal of his estate where it was purchased by me,  initially purchased as a restoration project by me however over the next few months interest has been lost and is now offered for sale, the landrover has a high specification for its age and boasts a fairy overdrive, engine operated capstan winch, tudor cab heater and rather a large turbo, all of which i believe are not standard specification,  the landrover is sold strictly as a NON runner and an investigation into its initial engine failure will need to be done, i did try to start the engine checking the more simpler diagnosis and it does turn over fine however it fails to start so please bear this in mind when bidding, also brakes are U/S due to perished seals in the brake master cylinder, the chassis however looks to be in good order and the landrover stands very level, evidently many layers of red oxide and grease over the years have done a sterling job in preserving it, one area of the chassis however that will require work is at the very front where the bumper fixes on and where the front spring hager is attached, (there is some deep corrosion in this area), other than that the chassis looks good as does the bulkhead (with the exception of some minor little bits), all in all a good base for a restoration and i do have a v5c logbbok in my name, please bear in mind the length of time that this landrover has stood and that some degree of attention / recommissioning will surely be required, also to be noted is the absence of the front seats, offered without reserve to the highest bidder

Land Rover Series 2 - 1963 - Petrol - 109 Long Bonnet

Land Rover Series 2 - 1963 - Petrol - 109 Long Bonnet
Land rover series 2 109 long bonnet.  Mot till May 16   tax exempt. This land rover has had the bulkhead moved back the length of the front doors, and the rear doors of a station wagon fitted with the tops removed. The chassis has been stripped down, welded where required (rear spring hanger area), painted with rust killer, red oxide then black synthetic paint. The bulkhead was shot blasted, welded where required (new foot wells and other areas) and then red oxide and synthetic top coat. All the suspension bushes were replaced with poly bushes, new brake shoes and wheel cylinders (the axles are from a straight 6 109). New flexi hoses and copper brake pipes throughout. The steering wheel has been refurbished. Wheels were shot blasted and sprayed black. 4 very good general grabber tyres and a different spare. The bonnet was fabricated using 2 bonnets and some extra aluminium and the front wings elongated. The drag link for the steering was manufactured by a local engineering firm to cater for the extra length required. There is only one wiper motor fitted, there is another one with the vehicle but it is not working. All new lights, including halogen headlights. It has had the points removed and an electronic system fitted with a new coil from the Distributor Doctor, and an electric fuel pump. The engine is a rover v8 high compression from a rover P5B. The gear box is an lt95 . A new clutch pressure, friction plate and release bearing were fitted.  The bikini hood is new, the speedo doesnt work, there is a cable but i hadn't figured out how to  attache it to the back of the speedo. The body is painted with synthetic paint which has been flatted back lightly to give a mat finish. I finished it last year and took my son to his prom night in it with his mates, then my niece to her wedding, and have hardly used it since, despite all the work that's gone into it I have decided to sell. There is more that could be done or you could just use it like it is. Viewing welcome, I have put a reserve on and will let the auction run. 07977 556967 Matt. Cash on collection.

Landrover Series 3, 12 months Mot. Clean and tidy, Safari Roof, 2.3 petrol

Sellers Comments -

It has the following extras

Free wheel hubs
Safari Roof
Overdrive (although untested)

I bought this landrover last summer as a project, it was mechanically excellent but looked a bit rough. My father and me gave her a new lick of paint and now she looks quite presentable for a 34 year old vehicle.

I will put a new 12 months M.O.T on for the winning bidder so you should be good to go.

A word of warning if you have never driven one of these...they are hard work, they are noisy, slow, require herculean strength to steer, are bouncy, cold in the winter and hot in the summer but are great fun.

Please come and have a peak before buying, I am not a mechanic and would want someone to be 100% happy before leaving in it.

There are a couple of boxes of spares and a Haynes manual.

Cash on Collection only and I require a deposit of £100 at the end of the auction.

1960 LAND ROVER 88" series 2 swb 200di - Requires a couple of bits of TLC for the MOT, Had a chassis up rebuild

It is with a heavy heart I have to list my Series 2 for sale. I have run out of time to work on it and I need to spend more time with my family rather than in the garden working on the Land Rover. I bought just over a year ago with the knowledge I was going to have to replace the Perkins engine. As I removed the engine I discovered hidden and disguised rust and as I removed more of the front panels to get access to it I found more and more so before I knew it I was left with a bare chassis and a pile of Land Rover.

The chassis went into the metalsmith instructors on the camp  I was based on at the time and it was welded from front to rear. At the same time I bought the worlds rustiest 200tdi discovery for its engine. I removed the turbo and fitted a 2.5 N/A defender exhaust manifold to allow it to mate up to a brand new standard series exhaust, while the engine was out I also modified the flywheel housing to make it mate up to the series gearbox via a brand new clutch. There is a bit of a leak from the rear main seal. I also rewired it completely, changing the single fuse for two blade fuse boxes. I added a new ignition barrel as the old one was a bit temperamental and a Defender temperature gauge.

The bulkhead also turned out to be a long way from savable and so was swapped for one requiring slightly less work. it was at this point I also started the colour change from blue to yellow. I added roof sides with windows fitted. An electric fan was fitted to the front panel, which was also repaired, there is a Kenelowe fan controller but as I haven't had a chance to test it I have it fitted directly to a switch on the dashboard.

It was previously fitted with a twin leading shoe set up from a long wheelbase Land Rover and when I fitted the engine I exchanged the master cylinder for one from a Long wheelbase which has a servo connected to the vacuum pump on the engine. These brakes have been one of my major headaches, I haven't been able to get them adjusted correctly and is one of the reasons for the failed MOT. I have fitted brand new cylinders, shoes and front link pipes, also when I was rebuilding it all of the brake pipes were made up brand new.

The other issue preventing me from getting an MOT is it is running a little bit smokey which I believe is mostly due to the fact it has been sat without having a good drive for a long time. The other points mentioned on the MOT failure sheet I have remedied, wiring tidy up and the rear light not working. The tiny bit of welding that was required has also been done.

it is fitted with a smiths heater but this failed today and so I have bypassed it but it is still fitted.

I have put a lot into this Land Rover and if I didnt need a vehicle on the road I wouldn't be selling it but now my wife has gone back to work I need something capable of carrying me and my three kids at least!

I have started it at £2000 and I do have a figure in mind which I would end the auction for but this could be negotiable and is not set in stone.

I am in Emsworth in Hampshire. I will answer any questions you have.

1980 Land Rover Stage 1 109 V8 1980 truck cab, solid, un-molested condition, low miles

1980 Land Rover Stage 1 109 V8

1980 truck cab, solid, un-molested condition, low miles

For sale my 1980 Land Rover Stage 1, Ruby. These are becoming more and more rare these days, and this one is particularly unmolested. She has excellent running gear (LT95 gearbox, very good synchro) and a fantastic engine (older replacement Defender V8 engine with SU carbs, no leaks or rattles, pulls beautifully). I am selling her as technically a non runner, as she has been off the road since last Summer, when the starter motor failed, meaning that a little rewiring will be required.

She comes with a fairly comprehensive history of maintenance and improvement. She was originally built as a left-hand-drive version, as confirmed by the VIN, and was converted about 15 years ago by a previous owner to right-hand-drive, at considerable cost and using new components. Because of this, she is one of the best-steering Series Landies that I have ever driven - no slack or play at all! The radiator (unbelievably expensive brand new!) was replaced with new in 2008. The body is basically straight, with a few dents here and there. The tailgate has been hung on hinges which greatly improves acces to the rear bed. The truck cab has a complete (except for the door trims) deluxe trim kit, which is in good condition with no tears. She has an older respray which is getting tired, and would benefit from refreshing. Alternatively, simply enjoy a Land Rover which looks like a Land Rover should!

Landrover Lightweight 1970 land rover V8 4.6cc three speed auto 300BHP

Landrover Lightweight

1970 land rover V8 4.6cc three speed auto 300BHP

I will try and cover everything and if I miss anything out I will add it later.
This rover lightweight was built in 1970 and is road tax free it was used I guess in the forces? then registered with dvla in 1979 giving it a 'T' registration.
I have owned the lightweight for around two years the previous owner had it for nineteen years and the revamp was his creation!
here is a list of some of the changes..
Engine is a 4.6 v8 with a cross bolted block believed to be out of a classic range rover? has a edelbrock carb and 4 in to 2 in to 1 manifolds that eventually exit the rear via x2 big bore silencers. The wheels are classic range rover with like new general grabbers.
The gear box is a borg warner model 66 three speed auto box attached to the transfer box via a Ashcroft conversion.
The axels are from a classic range rover comprising of 3.54 diffs 10 spline and the luxury of disc brakes all round and range rover split braking system each calliper has x4 pistons and stops in a straight line on the button! it also has a high capacity radiator with a kenlowe electric fan and it all works well.
The engine starts fine and runs really well with NO knocks rattles or smoke, The gear box has had a new sump gasket due to an annoying slow drip and new oil and filter fitted at the same time.
Jobs known to be required if new owner wishes to sort them are rear diff pinion oil seal easy job really just not had the time new seal  will be provided also slight drip on transfer box but all in all its a landy.
Chassis wise its had some repair to the rear cross member but looks ok, also 3 new outriggers and two repaired also front floors have been plated but overall for a 45 year old its certainly not new but also not in bad order.
Driving wise 'well' its not a kids toy! lt will poodle along as it should but squeeze the peddle and hold on! it has to be driven with respect and its a real head turner.
insurance cost me £138 per year with all modifications noted.
The truth is I have to many projects and its been a hard and sad decision to sell.

Any way please only bid if you are a genuine buyer no door step hagglers.
No test pilots or this is my mate he's a mechanic!

Land Rover Series 2a IIa 1962 Orig Reg 375 BRP Full Canvas Bronze Green New MOT

Here we have for sale a very early Series 2a.

Chassis number 24100765a was built in October 1961 but strangely not registered until 1st June 1962 so I am guessing it was a demonstrator for a garage?

375 BRP is a Northamptonshire registration number and is valuable and transferable but it would be a shame to part them after all these years.

V5 document present and correct.

It has MOT certificates dating back to 1984 when the mileage was 45,307 and the mileage on the new MOT certificate is 66,747 so not many miles in the last 30 years.

The Land Rover has been checked over prior to the MOT as it has not been on the road since 2003.

The chassis is very good and will not need any work.

The bulkhead is also good and solid with excellent footwells.

The gearbox was removed to renew the spigot bearing as it was very noisy, all working fine now with a good clutch.

Brakes are good all round.

Correct Lucas wiper motors.

Free wheeling hubs.

Paintwork is scruffy in places but I quite like the look! It comes with a tin of Deep Bronze green enamel if you wish to smarten it up.

A new Autosparks wiring loom was fitted in 2007 with an alternator conversion.

The canvas is a few years old but in good order.

Bench seats in the back so fun for all the family!

It has had approx £1800 spent on it in the last year.

These early Series 2a's are really going up in value due to Series 1's going up so strongly so grab one while you can.

This Land Rover is ready to use again as is or improve it over time while enjoying it.

Can be viewed off Junc 14 M4 Near Hungerford

LAND ROVER Series 1 county station wagon, Resprayed, solid chassis/bulkhead

For sale through AB4x4s Cleveland is a most superb 1956 series 1 that has just benefited from a full professional respray in its original colour.
The entire vehicle has been through a restoration in the recent past and completely defies its age!
Such a vehicle is quite rare being a genuine factory station wagon with safari roof.
Bulkhead is solid and the chassis is one of the best I have ever seen.
Some of its recent parts include new water pump, new seats and the original carb was refurbished.
In short she runs very nicely indeed and maintains her original registration no of WUB 363.
It is unusual to find Series 1 landrovers in such lovely  condition and are becoming more and more rare, proving to be superb investments.

LAND ROVER SERIES ONE 88" IDEAL FOR RESTORATION

Jake Wright

Independant Land Rover specialists

For 40 years

We have gained experience from everyday servicing as well as safari preparation and have satisfied customers worldwide

Here we have for sale -

A 1957 Series One 88" or "short wheelbase" land rover.

An ideal restoration project .

The vehicle is more or less complete just as it arrived.

Previously owned by a land rover enthusiast and then out of use for some years.

Series 1 80" land rovers are now getting out of reach for most enthusiasts due to collectors and investors pushing up the prices and so these slightly later models are the next best thing in the ever rising classic car market as have been shown on recent TV programmes.

The body is mostly very straight with only small scratches and dents which are to be expected.

Originally built as a petrol engined vehicle this one was converted to a land rover series diesel engine some years ago for economy reasons.

The engine has been running and it runs extremely clean and looks like it could be a reconditioned unit judging by the colour.

The chassis will need work including a rear x member and some outriggers, etc which are all available commercially.

The bulkhead will also need work or replacement and these are also available.

We have the V5 registration document in our name and the vehicle will retain its number.

All in all this will make a very nice project.
