Land rover Series 3 1974

Sellers Comments Hi welcome to the listing of my land rover series 3 88inc. I have had this land rover since December 2014. The previous owner used this to go around his farm and as you can see it has a hatch cut out of the roof. It also has 4 spotlights on a light bar, all working, led light in the rear for night time use and a spot light at the back all working. 2 tow hitches front and rear and with all electrics working fine. It has bench seats in the back with seatbelts they can also be folded up, so you could carry 7 people if needed. Cb radio, the tyres are all good with plenty of tread left on them with modular wheels (235 85 R16). It also has chequer plating, a steering guard fitted, and over drive. The previous owner fitted the following new parts. Full exhaust, fuel pump and bushes on the front and back. I have replaced the fuel tank and sender, both door tops, had a reconditioned steer box fitted, replaced the steering damper and one new front wheel bearing. I have changed all the oils and wax oiled the underside. There is some rust coming through on the bulkhead below the windscreen and a few dents due to age. It is painted army green. It has a 2286 petrol engine stamped preserved on the block, and the mileage is 18550. It starts first time; runs just like a land rover should do. The steering is typical of a 40 year old land rover it has been improved since the service exchange steering box has been fitted. The MOT expires on the 2nd October 2015. It is now road tax free

1971 Tax Free SWB Series LAND ROVER 88" Diesel Truck Cab Overdrive Long MOT

Sellers Comments - For sale my SWB 1971 Road Tax free land rover with overdrive and long MOT. Its a truck cab at the moment (half height back door) which means in an hour you can unbolt the roof and door tops and you've got a full convertible. She has had 4 brand new expensive road biased tyres fitted at the last MOT (over £400 alone). Freewheeling hubs. The old girl has obviously had a new replacement chassis at some stage as you can see from the underside photos. The front spring hangers have had some welding more recently and in an ideal world although they are solid I'd be inclined to get them replaced as new ones are only around £85 a pair and it would leave the underside in very good order. The rear crossmember and all the nasty places that these can go is in very good order (again see the pics). The car starts and drives well for one of these (I've had 5 or 6 and this is a very good one). The only reason for sale is I'm having a clear out to spend on new roof and getting my other Landy back on the road (which won't be for sale!!). The bulkhead is in very sound order as are the footwells. As is often the case the much thinner metal area on the inside of the bulkhead has had a little rust in the area around the dash/vents and could do with a coat of hammerite to keep it from progressing. There is no radio other than the period Roberts Radio which I'd guess has been used in the car since new- only mono and LW/MW from its little speaker I'm afraid but at least you can pick up the shipping forecast and the cricket. So, if you know what you are looking at here these old girls and going through the roof in value at the moment with Landrover stopping production of the Defenders. Its dead cheap motoring with spares very cheap and easily found. The road tax is obviously free. I'm 48, live in South West London and she costs me less than £90 a year to insure with Adrian Flux on a limited 3,000 miles PA policy. With the overdrive in and cruising at 45mph it will happily do 30mpg being the diesel (the petrol ones while a little smoother do well to get over 20mpg in my experience. She's not new, she's 45 years old. Some of the paintwork is original, a lot has been repainted over the years and there are areas which could do with new paint now (like the inside of the doors). She won't win any concourse prizes but she gets a load of smiles from passers by and you'll be grinning as you potter around too. Cash sale (or half of the money goes to my ex) from Surbiton in Surrey. I'm letting the auction run unless you have very deep pockets. The lucky buyer will need to arrange collection from my house within 7 days from close of the auction having transfered over £100 deposit within an hour of the sale end to prove you are genuine.

1959 LAND ROVER

Sellers Comments Welcome to my auction for my 1959 Landrover Series 2 petrol. I have owned this for about 10 years and had the intention of sticking a V8 in it and using it as a fun vehicle. The trouble is a 90 came along and this poor old girl was left at the top of the garden. I did a lot of work on the chassis but from what I can see it would need the rear cross member and both front dumb irons replaced at the very least although from what I can remember the rest seemed structurally sound. I had contemplated changing the chassis but that would destroy the history of the vehicle. As you can see it was first registered in 1977 hence the S registration and the log book also says it was rebuilt- assembled from parts some or all which were not new. I do have a letter from the heritage trust confirming the Chassis number relates to a chassis manufactured in October 1959. I don't know any other history but presume it was imported or ex military or just built up in 1977 on an old chassis. It is classed as a historic vehicle so it tax and MOT free!!! I have replaced the leaf springs with parabolic springs and changed the brake cylinders several years ago and also replaced the outer front wings, drivers door bottom and radiator. It starts and moves under its own steam but really needs a total rebuild or at least chassis repairs, brakes, engine service and possibly gearbox rebuild. It is 56 years old so basically you wont be able to drive it home, there may be bits missing but its generally all there and in not totally falling to bits. It comes with the split rear door where the top part lifts up. Apparently quite rare. It was last mot'ed in 2003. The only reason I have decided to sell it is because I just don't have the time to give it the attention it needs and hate to see it rusting away although if it does not sell it will be driven back up the top of the garden and left for another 10 years!! I have seen these fetching crazy money when fully restored! I guess it would be best to come and have a look at it before you bid but I am happy to honestly answer any questions about the condition of the truck although I think the pictures give you a good idea! If you do bid and you win, it is to buy and not just have a look. I have the V5 in my name. I would prefer cash on collection and clearly this is collection only and it will need to be trailered away. I have this listed elsewhere so have the right to remove at any point.

Land Rover Series 2 1966 Tax exempt. Galvanised Chassis. Overdrive.

Here for sale is my trusty Series 2 that I've had the pleasure of owning for the last 5 years! It'll be a shame to sell and everyone tells me not to but unfortunately I fancy moving onto something else and it just sits in my garage not really getting the love and attention it needs. It certainly isn't a show winner, please take time to look at the photo's that I've put up and viewing is obviously more than welcome, bear with me though as I have a pretty hectic schedule!

I can write about it all day so I thought I'd just summarise its good points below..

Bad Points:

Bodywork is pretty rough and there isn't many straight panels on her. They all have some sort of character adding dent on them,,

It won't come with the white 8 spoke wheels as in the photos. It'll come with standard series 2 SWB rims with BFGoodrich Trac Edge tyres. Wheels are solid but scruffy.

General interior is a tad scruffy.

Bulkhead is solid with many new repair panels but isn't the neatest of bulkheads.

Good Points:

New Richards Galvanised chassis which I purchased and put on. I would new to check but I doubt its even done 1000miles since its been built on it. Etch primed and Sprayed black.

Very nice 2.25 petrol engine, starts well, runs well and burns very little oil. It has a 8:1 head fitted and Zenith carb which makes it pull surprisingly well for what it is.

Fairey Overdrive. Engages and Disengages nicely. Slight whine when engaged but I think they all do?!

Obviously Tax Exempt due to is age (1966).

Mot'ed until December 2015.

Land Rover Series 3 Pickup "200 Di" conversion

Sellers Comments - This car has had a 2.5 Ltr Discovery engine fitted less the turbo. NOT 2.25 Ltr as per the norm. I estimate the power output to be in the region of 80-90BHP, making it surprisingly good up hills compared to the standard 2 ¼ diesel, really pulls well. Engine starts first time with no smoke. New items fitted to the engine: - Cam belt and tensioners, Water pump & thermostat, Alternator, Clutch assembly, Starter motor, Glow plug relay, Re-conditioned radiator and electric cooling fan, Engine and gearbox mounts, Front exhaust system, Heater control valve. New parts fitted to the rest of the car: - Parabolic Suspension springs, Drive shaft Universal joints, Armstrong shock absorbers, Re-conditioned steering box, Brake drums, shoes and wheel cylinders, Brake pipes, Battery and box (under passenger seat to accommodate engine), Chassis wiring harness, All rear lights and front side & indicator lights, Ignition switch unit, Windscreen washer bottle and motor, Indicator/light stalk assembly. Chassis is good, there has been some welding over the years but it is solid. Also comes with a custom weather cover and a spare set of 16" x 7.5" wheels and tyres, engine change is on logbook.

For Sale - 1973 Tax Exempt Series 3 Land Rover Lightweight, 2.5 Diesel conversion, long mot Swap/px possible, especially for 90 or 110

Sellers Comments - For sale is my 1973 ex-military Land Rover Lightweight (otherwise known as an air portable). This is a series 3 model, and has 10 months MOT, with only one advisory on the last MOT. It has recently had the brakes rebuilt, and has a relatively new hood. The bulkhead is ok, but the upper right could do with a repair panel. The rear cross member is patched but solid. Both doors are ok. The previous owner fitted a 2.5NA diesel from a 110, so it pulls very well. It has deluxe seats (new). Overall it could do with some TLC, but it runs and drives well. I've been out and about today without the roof on. Occasionally the gearbox will kick out of fourth when you lift off the throttle. You could replace the gearbox, or just keep your hand on the gear lever when you lift off the throttle in fourth.... I'm only selling as I didn't realise when I bought it a few weeks ago that ex military vehicle don't have seatbelts. So I'm looking for a 90 or 110 so I can take my little lad out with me. If you have one of a similar value and want a deal... I currently only have the green slip, but full receipt will be given. Also have dating certificate etc. to prove tax exempt status.

1972 Land Rover Series 3 88 SWB + Overdrive. Tax exempt!

Finished in the original marine blue paint; structurally the car is very solid in all the usual rot spots. All the body panels are in good structural condition but the vehicle does have the usual dents and scrapes you would expect to find on a 40 year old Land rover! The chassis and rear cross member are in good condition although there has been a couple of repairs done to the chassis over time but these seem to have been to a good standard in my opinion. The bulkhead is in solid condition. The usual rot spots around the screen, front vents and A pillar are all in great condition and are totally solid. The original van top is in good condition and does not leak. Similarly, I’ve not experienced any water ingress from the screen seals whilst driving in the rain although admittedly I’ve not used it in very heavy rain. Pleasantly the doors and door tops are brand new on both the driver and passenger side – none of the usual flapping around in the wind here! The lower areas of the bulkhead are in good condition. Over all it is a nice little landy ready for work or play and whilst it does have its cosmetic faults it’s certainly not the usual rolling rusty wreck that you find advertised!

Landrover Classic Vehicle Camper Conversion Expendition ready tax exempt Bargain

Sellers Comments - Hybrid camper for sale with power steering, 200 TDI engine and all the extras (milage is 5000 since engine recon), recently back from a trip fishing trip to the south of france via paris (see pictures), this really is an expedition camper - drive anywhere, camp anywhere. Comes with 12 months MOT Tax Exempt Insurance Costs me £80.00 per year with Lancaster Insurance Many Many extras that i am bound to forget when listing them, it's gun metal metallic now, I've spent in excess of £16,000 on this vehicle, its totally unique and will suit camping in wales or an iraq war zone. Why am I selling ? well to be honest, it's like all land rovers, in that it's not completely finished, im about 90% there (needs a tarting up in terms of roof carpeting wiring, door hinges need adjusting, central heating needs installing (its brand new), wader kit needs fitting, needs a spare wheel, one of the window grills rattle, basically it needs a bit of TLC). What is does have is a 3/4 double bed that folds down (its very comfy) loads of storage space, front and rear diff guards, steering guard, new fuel tank, two optima batteries that charge off a electric (caravan) hook up, 12v and 240v power, sink, running water with 70ltr tank on roof and a shed load of other accessories that i will try and remember. I am advertising this elsewhere, so if it disappears before the end of the auction i am sorry. Also a £100 deposit via paypal or some other method and bank/transfer or cash on collection will get you the vehicle. I do not do tyre kickers or anoraks, try to knock me down after you won the auction and you will be going home empty handed. The vehicle gets looks everywhere. HM Customs have stopped me just for a chat about the vehicle, always fun at ferry ports as they always have a chat. It's lion proof if your going to africa in it - much safer than a tent! - you can walk on the roof, the rack is very strong and is fully meshed with a rear ladder. The brand new seats and power steering make it comfortable to drive and the sound proofing makes it a little more peaceful compare to similar 1960's landrovers.I have a few brand new spares for it, large jack, wheel brace, tow row, euro travel kit, spare lights, bulbs. centre console, cup holders etc about £300/£400 pounds worth that can go with it.

Land Rover Series 3 109 LWB

Sellers Comments.
Land Rover Series 3 109 LWB Hard top with side windows and three front seats + one rear side seat
This has been a very much loved family vehicle which has for many years only been used to tow our family caravan. It has never been used off road other than to tow the caravan off wet camping fields. I have owned the vehicle for 28 years and there has only been two previous owners. Over the years it has been modified to suite our personal needs specifically as a caravan tow vehicle and has had only light usage for family holidays.
This is a reluctant sale but the vehicle is very little used and time does not allow the necessary TLC needed to keep a 37 year old vehicle in good running order. We now tow with a discovery so the series is up for sale.
The vehicle currently has an MOT but this will expire on the 24 September 2015. There should not be any major work needed to get through another test but I simply do not have the time available and would prefer to sell it now. Overall it is in remarkably good condition for its year. Other than the mods listed below it is as original, appart from the bonnet and front pannel which were changed to make better room for the Kenlow Fan and the oil cooler. The milage is genuine at 76381 (may increase a little)
ACR Power Plus inlet manifold with SU carburetta. and air filter
ARC Power Plus performance exhaust system
Kenlow Electric Fan
Military Engine Oil Cooler + temperature gauge.
Fairy Overdrive.
Dixon Bate Shock Link ball hitch coupling
Parrabolic springs soft rating which gives a very smooth ride.
White 8 spoke steel wheels fitted with 235/85/R16 Nexen Roadian AT tyres which have had little use.
Rockey Mountain door tops
Custom made head and side linings
Custom made Rear dog guard.
Rear roof lifting vent
The Land Rover also has a very good LPG gas conversion and with the ARC power plus conversions and the SU carb gives a very much improved performance over a standard engine on both petrol and gas. With current LPG prices at 50 per litre and with the added benefit of being exempt from road tax within the next 3 years, this will be a very cheap vehicle to run.

TAX EXEMPT LANDROVER SERIES 111 / 3 1974 , BARN FIND RESTORED SERIES 111 CHASSIE

Sellers Comments.
The engine and gearbox are still in the landy and are complete, looks like someone had started to rub down the bodywork to start a restoration but that's as far as it got.
It's sold as seen so have a good look at the photos, or better still come and have a look, there is a number plate with it, also it is on the DVLA computer registered as 1974, therefore now tax exempt. There is no v5 or any keys with the landrover.

Land Rover Series 3 Pickup "200 Di" conversion

Sellers Comments.
This car has had a 2.5 Ltr Discovery engine fitted less the turbo.
It has been 12 months since the conversion and the car runs great. MOT till August 2016 - with NO advisories. Next MOT due 02/08/2016.
Viewings welcome, no foreign bids.

1994 Range Rover Classic 3.9 Vogue SE Beluga Black

Here we have for sale 'The Black Pearl' she has been in the family for the last 10 years and the previous owner for 5 years and always serviced at the same garage. Up till 2 years ago this was the main family vehicle and has taken the family throughout the UK and regular trips to the West Coast of Scotland and all over France and for a Classic Range Rove has been pretty reliable!!! For thew last 2 years she has been down at the garage that services her with the intention of getting her up together and selling her, which I have now decided to do...........had to wait until my son left home as he was insensed at the thought of her leaving!!! For a 1994 Classic she is in quite good condition, engine and gearbox are smooth, only with the usual clunk when putting her into reverse, has always done this so used to it. Underneath is good all neccessary welding has been done over the years in the usual places, sills and rear cross member and has been regularly waxoiled. Outside is ok with usual age related marks, top tailgate is good, bottom has 2 scabbs on it which can be easily sorted, bonnet is near enough new, replaced 2 years ago and all doors are good, some paint on the door pillars have faded. The inside is in good condition and benefits from a new headlining with all Tan leather seats and walnut trim. The original stereo has been relaced with a more modern system that has a designated usb ipod connection. The original leather seats have been replaced due to the wear and tear and the replacements do not have the memory facility but everything else, try finding and exact replacement!!!!. Also the air suspensilon has been converted back to coils as I was let down on 2 occasions whilst on holiday and had had enough of the air suspension by then, the only thing that really ever let us down!!! There is a whole file of service history, some stamps in a book but all receipts and some parts that I have kept. She is gas converted and has 2 large tanks underneath and works out at the equivalent of 30mpg.........on a 3.9 V8!!!!! Because we went around Europe in her we have an EU gas adaptor so you can fill up on the continent. The Heads were re skimmed at 100,000 miles, plus loads of other stuff over thew years. It is only when you sit down and go through the service history do you then realised how much has been spent on her!!!!!!. There is also a genuine Range Rover plastic boot tray (not in the pictures), and an adjustable tow hitch. She will come with 12 months MOT but no tax. I would recomend viewing and this can be done where she is currently is kept at Finlandya Custom 4x4, Glastonbury, BA6 9LU and is available to view by prior arrangement Mon - Fri 09.00 - 17.00 and by prior arrangement on Sat 09.00 - 12.00. Please remember that she is not a concours classic other wise the price would reflect this, however she could be made into a stunner with TLC and she does need another devoted owner. I am open to sensible offers as these machines are going up in value. A deposit of £100 is to be made through PayPal but the rest is cash on collection due to fees.

Land Rover Series 3 SWB 3.5L V8 Soft Top with MOT - For Sale £2400 ONO

I have decided to sell my 1977 Land Rover Series 3 SWB 3.5L V8 Soft Top in very good condition with SU carbs. The Landy sounds great and does turn heads. My partner and I are expecting our first child in a few months time hence the reason why I'm selling otherwise I wouldn't. I believe it will be road tax exempt in two years. The Landy started off with a 2.25l petrol engine but that got replaced with a V8. The log book still shows 2.25l. It has a new MOT to July 2016. I did do some mechanical work to get it through the MOT. All electrics work (I.e. Lights, indicators, cluster/dash instruments, air horns, wipers, wiper jet spray). It's kept in a garage and is pretty clean and straight for its age with minimal corrosion. Chassis is very solid and been wax oiled. The rear cross member has had a patch welded in the past. The paint work is not too bad and is in black.
2WD and 4WD all work with free wheeling hubs.

Specification:
- Exmoor dark green tilt canvas/hood with rear plastic window in very good condition. Only slight fading to the colour.
- AVM free wheeling hubs.
- Galvanised good sticks.
- Strong 3.5L V8 engine. Engine code 24Gxxxxxx.
- Engine was rebuilt by previous owner. It was stripped, cleaned, painted, bores honed, new main bearing fitted, new piston rings, valves ground, composite head gaskets fitted, carbs overhauled, new coil & distributor.
- Fresh Engine oil.
- Chassis wax oiled.
- Oil Filter relocation kit.
- Reconditioned alternator with new parts fitted.
- New fan belt.
- New custom exhaust.
- Mountney steering wheel and boss.
- Radiator in good condition.
- New 15lbs (15psi) V8 Radiator Cap.
- New coolant overflow hose.
- Electric fan (with thermostat but I've run the fan permanently).
- New Britpart rear springs.
- New brake lines, brake shoes & slave cylinders.
- SU Carbs.
- chequered tub and foot wells.
- Exmoor trim seats in good condition. No rips or tears.
- Roll cage painted in a rust proof protective coating. Structurally fitted and welded to chassis correctly.
- Seat belts all round - front and at the back.
- New front prop shaft.
- Range Rover diffs.
- New HD battery and tray.
- Tow bar.
- New door tops.
- Fog light.
- Aftermarket air filters.
- Air horns.
- New thermostat.
- New wiper washer jet nozzles.
- New wiper blades.
- Fitted an overflow bottle for enhanced cooling.
- Used BF Goodrich AT tyres on new 16' Modular wheels (tyres have cracking but hold air).
- I will throw in 5x off road tyres on Weller wheels.
- I will also throw in 4x part worn BF Goodrich tyres with good tread.
- Also will include a spare bonnet with wheel holder/carrier.
- Recent cooling system flushed, rad cleaned and clean/new coolant added. No overheating.
The hood is currently off the truck due to the nice weather and that it won't fit in my garage when fitted to the truck. You will need a big van to collect the wheels and other bits.
Landy is ready to drive away but I haven't done any long journeys in it. Longest was 40 miles without issues.
I also balanced the air flow of the SU carbs however they might need a further tuning but it never bothered me and it passed the emissions test for MOT.

For the boring bits now. Please only bid if you have the funds. I require a deposit of £150 to be paid immediately by PayPal once auction ends and the remaining cash on collection. I'm not interested in any part exchanges or swaps. Those with less than 10 positive feedback to contact me prior to bidding or bids will be cancelled.
I would recommend you view prior to bidding so you know what you are getting. You are bidding to buy the vehicle and not view or haggle the price with me upon viewing.
Sold as seen and no returns.
Timewasters will be reported.

The Landy is advertised elsewhere so I may remove the listing of sold.
