Ex mod army land rover defender 127 ambulance wolf 4x4 truck off road camper

Sellers Comments -
ex mod army land rover defender 127 ambulance wolf 4x4 truck off road. in fantastic condition with only 57 kilometres on the clock. this has seen service overseas however I do not know the details. it has an English logbook that states it is a 1990 but its1st registration in the uk was 2005. it comes with a full 12 months mot and is running a 2,5 turbo diesel. it has 5 off road tyres and the 4x4 works great. it has just been serviced at the same time as the mot. as its army it has 2 fuel tanks and a switch on the dash to switch them that works perfectly. the spade and pick axe are all complete on the bonnet. it has a lift kit on the suspension and an engine snorkel. I thought this would make a great camper for someone who wants something abit different. any questions you can call me between 9 am and 9 pm on 07967 583749. please only contact if you are interested in buying it. I do not need to know if your friend has 1 or if you saw 1 for sale in 1972 12.99. you will be hard pressed to find a better example that turns heads like this does. please note the log book lists this as a 3.5 petrol for some unknown reason. I have spoken with the dvla and when the log book is sent off to change ownership I was advised to fill in the change of detail section to correct this mistake on the dvla side

1998 Land Rover Defender 90 Wolf 300 TDI Soft top ex MOD Wolf in excellent condition with extras

Sellers Comments -
A desirable Wolf Defender 90 TD soft-top, uprated with side steps, front winch, rear view camera, and phone kit, which was released by the Army in 2015 , UK registered and has had three previous owner since then. The 300Tdi engine has rebuild plates dating to 2005, the speedo is in Kms and the vehicle has covered the equivalent of only 61079 miles since built.

British Army Designation; Truck Light Utility TUL HS 4X4  Land Rover GS Soft Top 2.5 Litre Turbo DSL. Built to British Army Specification by Land Rover based on the Defender 90, and accepted for service in 1996, the specifications and history of the Wolf are as follows

The Wolf was tested, rejected, upgraded and tested again before the MoD was satisfied. It is far stronger and more reliable than the Land Rover Defender on which it was based. When the Wolf was designed the engine in the civilian Defenders was the Td5. Land Rover preferred the 300Tdi for the Wolf because the electronics in the Td5 were more complex to manage in the field.

The 300Tdi on a Wolf uses a slightly different design of timing cover compared to the civilian version with a reinforced rear axle as during extremely rigorous military testing the original Salisbury axles kept breaking, the axle was redesigned using stronger internals, hubs and outer casing, making one of the strongest land rover axles ever mad

The wheel is bonnet mounted making it easier to use in congested areas

The chassis is considerably different in design to the standard Defender chassis even though it looks similar. The side walls are standard, most of the rest is bespoke. The additional rear load bed mounting was to take increased weights as the standard chassis kept punching big dents in the rear floor.

Chassis made after the production run (service chassis) are slightly different, later ones have a triangular reinforcement behind the front outriggers, none of them have the front round tube going through the main chassis walls as it is more costly to tool and produce although it is stronger.

The chassis wasn’t galvanised due to the additional cost it would add. There were also unfounded Health and Safety concerns about the gases involved in welding a galvanised chassis, due to the fact that supplying correct respiratory protection to welders would negate this problem.

The chassis on all Wolfs was sprayed internally with Dinitrol rust proofing.
Other Wolf specific items

Wolfs are equipped with a steering guard, to offer improved cross country capability.

To keep in line with MOD policy to simplify the stores chain, Wolf vehicles were fitted with 24 volt electrics. This meant supply of simple electrical items such as bulbs was now the same as the rest of the vehicle fleet. FFR (fitted for radio) variants gained a second alternator specifically to power the signals equipment.

A rear body roll cage was fitted in all conventionally bodied vehicles and some Wolfs were later upgraded with an extra front roll cage. It is worth noting that this "roll cage" is not mounted to the chassis, merely the rear body tub and has questionable benefit were the vehicle subjected to being rolled over.

To reduce noise and heat from the transmission in compliance with health and safety rules a special heavy duty military matting system was designed for the Wolf by Exmoor Trim. These mats weigh about 30 kg, and consist of mats to cover the footwear and transmission tunnel.

The Wolf soft top is made of PVC and the rear flap is fastened either by zippers and Velcro or by Dutch lacing down the sides and elasticated, the hood on our Wolf is in excellent condition

1994 Ex MOD Land Rover Defender 2.5na (Gurka Rifles)

Sellers Comments -
This listing is for my ex-army Landrover Defender 90 GS built in 1994.

Description
This is a Landrover 90 originally a soft top 12V General Service vehicle although fitted with base plates for radio wing boxes so was likely used with clip-in manpack radios. It is fitted with Wolf wheels which appears to have happened while still in service. A previous owner has fitted a civillian hard top (he commuted to London in it and needed a weatherproof and secure vehicle). The mileometer shows 29,000 but looking at past MoT and Army records it has been once round and is really 130,000. The engine is a 2.5 litre normally aspirated diesel.

Could be used for classic car/Military shows or equally would be a fantastic daily driver being virtually depreciation proof.

The vehicle has a NATO tow hook and trailer connector, both of which I have used and which work, and SA80 rifle mounts between the front seats. I have fitted two modern civilian folding seats and had a local MoT garage fit Britax seat belts in the back so it is a 4 seater. There is an unused spare tyre on the bonnet .
I have two sets of keys, the V5, the MoD Merlin record, some photos of the vehicle as released and MoT history since I bought it.

History
The vehicle was purchased by the MoD in 1994 and cast in 2010 having been issued to the Ghurka Rifles in 1994  and then spent 12 years from 1998 to 2010 in reserve, being bought by a dealer and sold to the first civilian owner who fitted the hard top and the stickers (which reflect its service with the Ghurkas).  I have had it since December 2014,  and in that time I have driven about 9,000 miles, and replaced the starter motor and generator, had a £500 stainless steel exhaust fitted in 2016 and had some welding done on the rear chassis member either side of the tow bar.

Reason for sale - I want to do some expedtioning and would be a terrible shame to turn such a good example of a military defender into an expedition vehicle.

Landrover Series 2a 1967 - ex mod -

Sellers Comments - A proper barn find! i have a 1967 swb ex mod 2.1/4 petrol landrover,i have got here running and sounds really sweet, the chassis will need extensive welding ie a rear half chassis and a few out riggers, the bulk head is very good and would get away with just a pair of foot wells. she has a fairy overdrive fitted and avm free wheeling hubs and a full hood and hoops, she also comes with a heritage proof of build letter as she was de mobbed in 1974.the engine i would say is a little later but still the 3 bearing variant.

1958 Series one 88" PROJECT ex MoD - For Sale - £2750 - Make An Offer

1958 Series One 88"

Ex MoD

Relisted due to overseas bidder not being able to pay or collect! :-(

Recently dragged out of a French field where it's sat unloved for the best part of 30 years. It is most definitely a project. It comes with no docs but the original chassis plate is still present and the numbers readable.

Complete with original wheels, engine, gearbox & axles

It looks to have been originally Military or Ministry of Supply as it has a military chassis, military towing socket and original 50's military towing jaw. Interestingly it is a Truck Cab but looks to have had a factory fit hard top sides grafted on. The worksmanship is superb and matches the rest of the roof, so I suspect it's original too. The previous owner recalls it's original UK reg starting SXF but I can't confirm that. So more digging needed but looks to have had a very interesting history. It's been 30 years in France, approx 10 in the Channel Islands, and UK originally.

The bulkhead is virtually non existent and the front panel nearly as bad. remarkably the chassis is in incredibly good order and will only need very minor repair. The rear crossmember and outriggers appear totally solid!

Mechanically speaking I have no idea about the engine & gearbox as it was left parked in gear and still is! I've removed the front prop to get the wheels turning and am attempting to do the same with the rear one! All tyres are flat & u/s but the wheels are original.

May consider a deal with another old Landy, quite fancy a Series 2A, or 110, 109 or Jeep

1981 LAND ROVER 109 Series 3 Long Wheel Base Ex MOD/Coast Guard

Landrover 109 series 3 long wheel base. In very good condition for its age its an Ex MOD Coast Guard Vehicle hence the paint Job which appears to be painted over the original army green. It drives really well with the usual old Landrover feel. It will sit at a steady 50/60 on the motor way no problem. I am selling because I need the money and I'm sad to see it go. The MOT has recently run out but i'm genuinely confident that it wont need much to pass this time, I just need a quick sale thats why I have not put it through. It runs really well the engine sounds sweet and everything works. The gearbox and 4 wheel drive gearbox work fine. The Chassis is in really good condition not needing any welding that I can see. It was sold to me as having a galvanized chassis but I cant see much of the galv left so i am not going to list at as this but I thought it was worth mentioning. It is on safari tyre at the moment but the valve just popped on one so it is on the spare wheel atm. 1981 model first registered for the road 1991. Mileage is 11000 Km so approx 69000 miles

1986 Landrover 110 GS Ex MOD 12M MOT 2.5 NAD 111k Very Clean + Original Defender HD springs, re-con engine, Runs and drives excellently!

TRUCK-UTILITY-MEDIUM-4X4-LANDROVER-110-DIESEL-GS-ST-12V-CARGO-RHD 41-KF-02 So, we have here a lovely example of an Ex- MOD Landrover. Above is the MOD reg and description from the plate on the seatbox. Obtained recently with a view to keep, reality has hit and the missus can't get on with it! Too high and too basic!
It was MOT'd when I bought it so I have run around in it and it's great fun with smiles and kids pointing, not to mention really usefull - the load bay is huge! It goes stops, steers exactly as you would expect with good brakes, smooth gear changes and nice steering - yes really, despite a lack of power steering it is more than manageable as the previous owner has fitted a slightly more A/T tyre to the front (a matching pair to the current rears is included in the back that are also studded - fit these to the rear and the rears to the front and there is no stopping you!) The body is clean and tidy, but a '15 plate it is not! Supposedly a veteran of Iraq, the current paintwork is handpainted as usual and probably done over the desert sand colour on it's return. There are dings and marks, but it is rock solid. The doors have obviously been renewed at some point and fit well. The door tops are the correct MOD sloping glass alloy units. The bonnet structure is a bit tired with some corrosion, but still functions fine - I'd planned to replace it and you won't even need ant tools to do it! The tilt is in good order with no holes or rips - but obviously not new! I quite like the fact the MOD insignia is still present along with the camo 'details'! :) The tub and seat box are good and solid, with just a small amount of alloy corrosion to the drivers side - not a problem currently and easily sorted with a repair panel. The tool box and battery tray are good and solid. The chassis really is excellent and is the main reason I bought it - The only repair it has ever had is to the O/S of the rear cross member and that has been done to a very high standard. The chassis/VIN number is present and correct on the O/S - important if you are considering export and reassuring for us UK owners too. This matches both the MOD plate and LR plate on the servo. I have had the chassis/underside professionally media blasted and epoxy primed then refinished with chassis black. It now looks better than new! The bulkhead is also very good - having had a couple of well done repairs by the pedal box and an older MOD repair to the O/S lower footwell - this is solid, but could be tidier. The N/S is also solid, but would benefit from some improvement in the future. I really am being super critical of a near 30yr old ex MOD vehicle! The engine is a belter - not the fastest but willing and actually quiet compared to a 200! Showing as reconditioned in '06, I don't believe it has done much as it is super clean inside and does not smoke, tap or breathe. A new alternator has also recently been fitted. The gearbox and transbox are also spot on with hi-lo and diff lock working correctly - light comes on and goes off correctly. A complete clutch assembly with release arm etc was fitted in Jan '14. The axles are good and quiet with no oil leaks and good chrome balls. Believe it of not this must be one of the most oil tight landrovers I've come across - barely a drop from anywhere! A new fuel tank and sender was fitted in June '14 - and a standard height tow ball is fitted. The front springs and dampers are also recent HD items. I will fit the corresponding rears springs in blue in the next day or so.... What else to say??? It's here to sell and I will listen to sensible offers. Cash on collection preferred and I can help with delivery although this will get you anywhere you wish to go! (del £1/mile ea way) Questions?? Fire away! - Sellers Comments

Land Rover Series 3 109 Military EX M.O.D. Lwb

Land Rover series 3 109. its a long wheelbase ex military. comes with the merlin report from the army telling you what she was used for which was light work these are 12v as standard, it a nice motor and it runs very very well. only 1 previous owner low millege It has a great gearbox great engine bodywork is great original camo paintjob working heater high/low box and 4wd all work fine tyres are all good including spare solid chassis has had repair in the past on a outrigger solid bulkhead

MOT until APRIL 2016

seatbelts in the front four bench seats in the back with seat cushions apart from one is missing

tow hitch and electrics, the electrics are working

new gear box 3 years ago

Oil cooler fitted every thing on this car is original also has infa red lights twin petrol tanks

She is a nice solid motor and i will miss it, i love these petrol engines and i will be sad to see her go . please bear in mind that this is a classic and not a super comfortable and plush modern car. they bounce and they rattle, they are simple and basic but all the more rugged for it. so don't expect a truck with all the mod cons as they weren't invented when this was made. this is a solid example of a proper series though and nothing rattles that would have done in the first place.

feel free to ask questions and i will get back to you as soon as possible.

sensible offers will be considered but please, no time wasters.

viewings are welcomed from serious buyers.

I do have it advertised else were,

I reserve the right to sell else where.

Sellers Comments / Notes
You are looking at an exceptionally good and solid Land Rover 110 Ex mod, manufactured in 1994. The chassis is in incredible condition with no welds or repairs. The bulkhead and rear crossmember are both in the same great shape. The bodywork is very good and the interior although very straight, could do with a bit of a clean out! It starts on the button with ease and drives really really well. It has only covered 29,700 miles and was in service for the RAF Logistic Support Squadron in Cyprus before being discharged. As yet, it is unregistered and comes with its mod disposal letter and a full 12 months mot with no advisories, so it is ready to register and go! If you have any questions whatsoever, please feel free to phone me on 01204 465235 anytime up until around 10.00 in the evening. The Land Rover is situated in Bolton, near Manchester and any inspection is invited. Delivery can also be arranged if required, good luck!
