Land Rover Defender 300TDI Off Roader

Thank You for viewing my LAND ROVER DEFENDER 300TDI OFF ROADER, or as I call her the GREEN BEAST because of the colour.

I have owned her for the last four years & have spent many happy hour out off roading or driving the green lanes around Devon, but since moving to Wales to live I have not used her for what she is capable of.
Apart from starting her up to drive the few miles each month to Land Rover Club, or for MOT & servicing, or to the local tip to dispose of rubbish she has sat on my drive. Hence the reason for selling.
She took part in the Land Rover Discovery 25th Birthday weekend on the 11th /12th October 2014, on Plymouth Hoe.

I collected her from Doncaster in 2014 & drove her home to Plymouth, boy that was some road trip. She has been regularly serviced at each MOT & wax oiled also. Any & all repair work has been carried out professionally, receipts are available to see & will be handed over on sale.
I will be as honest as possible & list as much as I can, you are more than welcome to ask any question & it will be answered to the best of my knowledge.

Sellers Comments - Defender 90 td5 pick up. Just changed both swivels, front wheel bearings, cvs. Universal joints changed. Fuel pressure regulator. Oil changed in diffs and transfer box 1000 miles ago. Chassis solid, bulkhead solid. Bottom of the doors slightly corroded. Owned for the past 18 months and used for taking the dog's out. Selling as Now need something with more seats.

Land Rover defender 110 CSW camper

History: manufactured and bought new in 1991 by the MOD, originally a hi-cap body. Decommissioned and became road registered in 1998( hense being two different dates)

In 2010 it was rebuilt to '92 CSW then converted to an overland/camper van.

Bought in late 2017, almost completely rebuilt and sprayed inside and out to the beautiful colour of sandstone! With plenty more work being done to it. We purchased it on the basis of wanting to travel around Europe at ease and to suit our surfing and snowboarding/skiing adventures.

Specs are;

Land Rover defender 110 CSW

200TDI DISCOVERY engine

First registered in 1998 but manufactured in 91.

Mileage is a little over 75000miles

Due for MOT in August but can be done before sale.

The '92 chassis and body painted sandstone in 2016.

The heavy duty chassis has been stone chipped painted (zero rust)

Extended fuel tank (100L)

Specialist security deadbolt doors to all rear doors

NATO tow bar and hitching

Chequered plates

Tmax HI Lift jack (bonnet mounted)

Terrafirma low profile roof rack

Front diff guard

Steering guard

Tree sliders (rust is just starting)

Rear timken bearings, cleaned greased and reassembled with new seals

New discs drilled/grooved solid and pads fitted

Much much much more done and fitted, too much to write however if serious then I will go into detail with it all.

Bad points from my end,

Hand break pivot broken, so hand real doesn't work.

Bulkhead is starting to rust near drivers mirror and passengers mirror,

Bubbling paintwork.

Small amounts of rust on doors.

2.5 200tdi diesel engine

Has MOT till 28 May 2019

Was raised and fitted with extra wide wheels by previous owner

We were in the process of returning to original spec so have refitted original wheels.

Wide wheel arches were fitted for the MOT. We have 3 of the original arches (1 missing)

A change of circumstances means we no longer have need for her.

We have a new set of standard springs and shocks which we will include if the bid is high enough or sell separately if not.

Has recently been brush painted in Land Rover Pennine Grey (An unopened tin of which is included)

Original 200tdi engine and LT77 gearbox

Has creases in both front wings as you will see, we left these as they add "patina"

Obviously has the usual dings and scuffs you would expect on a 28 year old defender.

If these are important to you please come and take a look (although why are you looking at Land Rovers !)

Comes with an LED light bar at the front (around £750 retail), Snorkel, Sparco seats and a pedal box lock.

Comes with a lot of recent receipts for recent work which include:

New (to us) Gearbox and transfer box from reputable Land Rover parts supplier

New clutch

New clutch master and slave cylinder

New exhaust (complete system)

New propshaft

New battery and cables

New glow plugs

New fuel pump and filter

New locks and keys

Pedal box security lock

Not perfect but in good usable condition with a solid bulkhead and Chassis.

Good basis to improve or use and enjoy as is.

Defender 90 ex and Sankey Trailer - Ex Military

Sellers Comments - MOT until Oct 2018 - I have had this vehicle now for about 10 years and the only time it let me down was a flat battery. She is as you would expect rough and ready. No bells and whistles just an honest basic landrover. I have used her primarily for shooting and it will go absolutely anywhere. Only selling due to my ex wife's insistence as part of the split. It does need a plate welding in the passenger footwell but this does not affect the MOT or chassis.

You are looking at a very nice Land Rover Defender 90 300 Tdi County, first registered in August 1998 making it one of the very last 300 Tdis produced. It has covered a mere 89,000 miles from new and comes with an excellent service history. The chassis, bulkhead and rear cross member are all very good and strong. The bodywork is very straight and the interior is lovely and clean. It starts on the button and drives superbly, just like a low mileage 300 tdi should do. It is equipped with metallic Rioja red paintwork with traditional white roof, roof bars, snorkel, front mounted A bar with additional driving lamps, side bars, Land Rover Freestyle alloy wheels with a good set of BF Goodrich tyres, front and rear mudflaps and a towbar with electrics. It has 2 front seats with a central cubby box and a forward facing rear seat ( another one could be added easily if required ) and a CD tuner. This 1996 N registered Defender was fully rebuilt 18,500 miles ago to NAS specification and fitted with a Rover 3.5 V8, 5 speed R380 manual box and a LT77 transfer box.

Finishing in arguable one of Land Rover's best colours Corris Grey metallic and complimented by matching colour coded freestyle wheels and biscuit cloth interior.

The Defender at time of build was fitted with the full NAS spec roll cage (currently not fitted but included within the sale) and also had some aesthetical enhancements in the way of a new canvas hood, side steps, Mountney classic steering wheel, crystal headlights, and clear indicators.
