Land Rover Lightweight

Land rover lightweight 1978, In good condition with new roof. MOT until February. 52,000 miles on the clock. Original condition with 2.25 l petrol engine. Some rust on air vent panel but this does not effect bulk head. Lots of work done on the engine by land rover specialist. Military registration 09GX23. I do not have the knowledge or time to give it the care it deserves.

Landrover series 2A - Chesterfield

Land Rover Series 2A, Has a series 2 style front.

The land rover was purchased over 2 years back a rolling chassis with body. This was my first car at 17, i had been driving it on the road for a year, ive rebuilt it from a rolling chassis up with the help of my family.

Over £4000 has been spent in total.

Tax exempt Historic vehicle, 1969 registration.

Interior and Body.

The body and bulkhead have no corrosion.

Paint work could do with touching up, otherwise in good order.

Chassis is in good shape but does have a couple of patches, nothing drastic. The chassis would benefit from waxoil or painting. 

The dashboard was made by myself from aluminum sheet, the original will be supplied along with the other dash panels if you desire to restore.

Has a Smith's Heater fitted, had a recondition matrix fitted which cost £150 to be done.

Has a pair of Britpart deluxe front seats along with seat belts and two rear bench seats.

All around the bulkhead and floor in the front has been sound deadened and carpeted.

LED work light fitted.

The wheels are 8 spokes which was powder coated in matt anthracite. 

General Mechanics.

Fitted with a ex MOD reconditioned by ABRO 2.5L engine out of a ex MOD defender 90, the original 2.3L diesel engine is available for an extra cost, it was removed at the start of 2015 due to badly smoking which has been put down to scoring in the cylinders and would require a full rebuild.

Gearbox was recently rebuilt with new genuine bearings and other parts costing over £80.

Fitted with overdrive.

Front Axle has Selectro Free wheeling hubs fitted.

New rear parabolic springs fitted costing £160 and new bushes fitted to front parabolic's was fitted last month to pass MOT.

Had a brand new Auto Sparks wiring loom when rebuilt.

The buyer would only need to tax and insure it to drive away.

Land Rover series 3 1976 2.25 diesel 12 month MOT

Sellers Comments - Land Rover series 3 1976, original 2.25 diesel with overdrive. Just had full engine rebuild, chassis welding and new brakes costing in excess of £1700, with receipt. New leaf springs, new seats, rear step and tow bar. 12 Month MoT, tax exempt from January 2016 (historic vehicle tax). Odometer current showing circa 2,000 miles, wholly unreliable but as per previous MoT's, the Land Rover has only covered 1,000 miles in the past 5 years. Will include additional spares which I have including rear tailgate (for converting to a soft top), matching new wheel rim, 2 x wheel bearings. Sellers Comments - I bought this vehicle a year ago on eBay. It drives brilliantly but as you can see from the photo of the MOT failure there is quite a bit of work to do to it. The interior of the vehicle is tidy and I love all the lights and A frame on the front. I will be sorry to see it go but I have replaced it with a similar one as I don't have the time to do the work this winter. You will need trade plates to drive the car away or the car will need to be put on a trailer or transporter. It is not roadworthy.

Landrover Series 3 - 1964

The 2.25 litre petrol engine was rebuilt 7 years ago over the last 5 years the landrover has been used a lot.  I have done a lot of work on the vehicle over the summer months breaks,  wheel bearings,  steering ball joints all overhauled.  The Landrover is has an MOT to November 2016.

Sellers Comments - This is exceeding rare on two accounts. The 1st that is a very early Series 2 Chassis number 141801096. The 2nd that it was supplied to Somerset Fire Brigade when new for use as a fire tender. It has its original 2.0 engine number 141805482 which runs well. Only approx 1700 Series 2's were fitted with this engine due to the new 2.25 engines being in short supply. 1955 LAND ROVER SERIES 1 V8 Special

The story behind this particular Land Rover is detailed in a 5-page feature in the October 2012 issue of Classic Land Rover Owner magazine, 

Starting out in life as a bog standard 1955 Series One 86", it was long ago converted into a stripped out trials machine and was spotted languishing in a farmer's field by the late Mark Rumsey, a well known figure in the Series Land Rover world. In something of a sorry state when acquired in 2011, it was soon back in Rumsey's Tring workshop where he set about a thorough rebuild with the aim of making it a competitive trials machine once more.

It had already been fitted with a 3.5-litre Rover V8 twin carb engine and a Range Rover gearbox with Series 2 or 3 axles and was soon got running again. As the original bulkhead was in a bad way, another was fabricated using 6mm thick steel. Deciding to make it road legal and get an MOT, the vehicle was completely rewired and headlights, wipers, horn and indicators restored to working condition.

Sadly, Mark Rumsey died unexpectedly just as the project was completed and his brother invited LRO magazine to come and put it through its paces in a muddy disused quarry to sample the quality of his late-brother's work. "I'm delighted to report that this custom-made and custom-rebuilt old trialler delivers all the fun and thrills that Mark intended," said the article. "This thing claws its way over everything, through everything and up everything. It's huge fun."

It comes with a V5C, an old MOT and a copy of the LRO magazine in which it is featured , it now needs a new owner to grab it by the scruff of its neck and show it a good time on some thrilling dirty weekends.

1963 109" Series IIA Land Rover

Sellers Comments - I'm moving house end January and very reluctantly have to sell my faithful 1963 LWB IIA. Fitted with a disco 200di (no turbo) used daily and has been very reliable. MOT till May 22nd 2016. Good tilt, new tyres. Have owned her for just over 5 years and during that time have fitted new front springs, starter motor and had the brakes overhauled. Previous owner (local to me) advised that a new chassis and new wiring had been fitted. This is NOT a restored poser, it is a working Landy with patina to match!! Probably could do with tidying up I guess or restored if you're that way inclined. Front prop shaft UJ needs to be replaced (I have a new one ready to fit and might find the time do it), and the speedo stopped working last week......either the cable or speedo drive I suspect. 1984 LAND ROVER LR 90 4C SW GREEN

for sale a very early Land Rover 90 genuine station wagon. This is an A reg 1st registered in July 1984. Being early it has all the desireable bits such as lift up door handles, galvanised body cappings etc. The MOT is until the end od January 2016 it will need a few bits of welding for next one .. patch on bulkhead outrigger N/S, repair on top of chassis at middle crossmember O/S. It drives well, engine is a bit smoky when cold but okay when warmed up, Usual oil leaks, gearbox works fine. Recent new battery. Usual scrapes and scratches in bodywork, doors and bulkhead are solid. It has 2 original side folding seats in rear (dont have the other two) and original front seats with a cubby box in between. I amnt really in any rush to sell (if at all), but would consider a swap P/X for a more standard Land Rover. I am in Tayport, Fife, Scotland and would recommend coming to see it. Modifications: Fitted with 2.8 Iveco Turbo Intercooled engine 2" lift with DeCarbon shocks and air assist on the rear. Sellers Comments - one 1964 diesel pick up complete in tact and untouched, lost keys for this vehicle, but does turn over when battery connected and 'hot wired' does not start, i imagine if i spent a day changing a few fuel hoses and clearing fuel lines i would be able to get it running i just never got around to it mostly this gypsy needs welding,floors, wings, arches, etc etc etc, im good with a welder myself but just haven't had time unfortunately, this gypsy is on leaf springs 2nd gypsy is a petrol 1965 in pieces, its all here except for the oil pump which I gave to another gypsy owner to keep there gypsy running on the road, this gypsy is on flexitor suspension, much of the panels and chassis are rotten but I was just planning on cutting out all the rot and replacing with new panels, most of the panels are flat so wouldnt take much to make a cardboard template and cut a new panel out of a new sheet of steel cash on collection or paypal is fine but please no cheques

1972 Series III Land Rover LWB 109"

Sellers - Comments I'm not quite sure if I should sell my Landy or not, so I though I'd let ebay make the final choice for me, if it sells it sells, if it doesn't, it doesn't, the catalyst being an illogical urge to get another 2 door Range Rover. It has been owned from new by two farms, both in Yorkshire (one at Pollington, from new and the next in Melbourne from May 1979). It had sat in a barn for around 9 years until the farm was cleared and I bought it from a general dealer just as it was removed from storage. All I had to do to get it back on the road was to rebuild the brakes (all new cylinders)and clean out the fuel system. It has subsequently had a new fuel tank.

LAND ROVER SERIES 2 OFF ROAD VEHICLE

Great little Landrover rebuild project for somebody.

Built with full Roll cage for off roading, Modified for this purpose.

This vehicle was used for off roading events across the UK, modified to a full off road standard.

Originally had a 3.2 Chevvy mustang engine fitted, but started to change that over to a reconditioned V8 (as shown in picture), also fitted with brand new parabolic springs, but due to commitments and time just didn't get chance to work on it to finish, thats why this for sale so someone else can finish and use this great vehicle for plenty of muddy off roading fun.

When up and running this vehicle went through the famous mud run at Weston park off roading show, which has all the military vehicles going through it.

Buyer would need to collect, so would need their own trailer or to be able to tow on a A frame which comes with the vehicle.

I have owned this vehicle for 7 years and in that time covered just 100 miles per year.  I used it for towing my boat from home to the slipway and back. The Landy has never been in the sea and always had a good wash after every outing. I never used the vehicle during the winter. Even though the V5 states 2 previous owners there was only actually just one, the second owner was the garage that were selling it. The first owner was Trawsfynydd Power Station who had it from new and it was purely  used by their security to drive around the perimeter of the power station. You'll see in the photos that the interior of the Landy is orange and not white! When the power station was taken over by a different company they resprayed their vehicles in white, but obviously didn't bother on the inside! The Landy is in good condition, starts first time, runs well and does not burn any oil. Good chassis, new rear crossmember fitted by garage before I bought it and new outriggers fitted  this year.  The drivers door hinge is a bit worn and the drivers footwell needs a small plate fitted. There's slight damage to the passenger side of the front bumper. These are all shown in the photos.
