For sale is a Land Rover Series III. This Land Rover is based on the 88” short
wheel base chassis.
The Land Rover has had a recent sympathetic restoration and
fluid top up. MOT until July 2015. Tax
will need to be arranged yourself as this is now the new requirement from the
DoT.
The body work is straight with only minor blemishes as would be expected for a
Land Rover of this age. It has been
repainted in a Marine Blue with a Limestone Hard Top and matching wheel
rims. Although the finish is not a two
pack showroom quality finish it is hard wearing and to a good standard.
The Chassis and underside have been very well maintained and
fully undersealed. There is no sign of
rot or damage.
The bulkhead has had some areas replaced but has been fully
treated and again repainted.
The door frames a generally in good condition. Again for a vehicle of this age rot has been
apparent but this has been removed, treated and repainted. No filler has been used to cover this up.
The engine is a 2.25l petrol which has only done approx.
78300 Miles. It is really smooth and
surprisingly quiet.
Gear change is good with only a slight crunch on 3rd and 4th
gear change which is common place on these due to the synchromesh clips
breaking. These can be replaced for
about 30p each. Although some would say
this is just the way Land Rovers are.
Transfer and Hi/Lo ratio are all fine.
The Land Rover has been completely rewired and a new wiring
diagram will be given to the new owner
80% of the bolts and screws have been replaced
Free Wheeling Hubs are fitted to the Land Rover.
There has been many new parts fitted and these include
Radiator, Thermostat, Water Pump, Hoses, Brake Hoses, fan belt, oil filler cap,
master cylinder, rear mat, seating front and rear, seat belts (rear seat belts
will be supplied but not fitted), Halogen lights to the front, door seals, door
hinges and I believe but not 100% the steering box.
There are headlight protectors included with the holes
already drilled.
The tyres are General Grabber and are excellent.
The Land Rover will be complete with a history folder and a
matching Owners/User Manual. If the
bidding exceeds £4,500 then I will put 12 months MOT on it aswell
I would highly recommend viewing this Land Rover to
appreciate it fully and have the opportunity for a test ride.
