Land Rover Defender 90 300 tdi Galvanised chassis rebuit 2013, *rebuilt gearbox*

Sellers Comments For sale through AB4x4s is this very presentable Land Rover Defender 90 that has been subject to a full rebuild onto a new galvanised chassis only 4 years ago. At this time it was also resprayed in Stornaway Grey and still looks very well indeed. At time of rebuild a 300 tdi engine was sourced and fitted. It runs without fault and pulls like a train. Gearbog was recently rebuilt and a new clutch fitted. Tyres are still as new and were replaced only 12 months ago along with the wheels. We have fitted a new rear exhaust and are sorting a few small niggles out for its new owner. We are including a full service and vehicle inspection prior to dispatch. Bodywork is still really nice but as all defenders, there is some oxidisation here and there.Back door has some cracking around the hinge but we can replace this for new and respray to match at extra cost. All in all a superb investment and with the all important galvanised chassis, there is little to worry about. Also remember in around 5 years it will be tax exempt !!!

Land Rover Series 3

For Auction is my 1975 Land Rover Series III. I bought this with a view to running it over the winter and doing it up a little. However, I have now had planning through for an house extension so won't have the time to devote to it! It's clearly not mint as the photos show but is a nice solid little truck. It had a load of welding work a couple of years ago - kind of a semi restoration - and this year all it failed on was one of the rear brakes being below efficiency, (a simple case of adjustment). The MoT has until November next year to run. The vehicle has the rare safari roof. The previous owner had tried to remove what I presume was insulation on the underside of this, (see photo). Although the car sits on a T plate, upon a bit of digging it transpires that it was made in 1975. Although not a military spec one, I'd guess that it spent the first three years on an airbase or something. I only have one set of keys for the car and the only paperwork I have is the log book and the current MoT. There is no record of any service history. Before I bought it, a friend of mine had a look over it for me. He spent most of army career fixing these in NI so I took his word when he said it was a good one! If you're after a minter, this really isn't the car for you. If this was on the forecourt of a classic car dealer, I believe the correct phrase would be 'Patinated'. As the pictures show, there a marks here and there on the body work, (well all over it!). The interior is tatty and it only has two seats. If you can source the other ones, this will actually be a 7 seater! The sliding windows don't appear to open and I don't want to force them. The check straps on the doors have also perished although an industrious former keeper has used cable ties in their place! As said above, the vehicle seems basically sound and could be a really nice example given some time, effort and enthusiasm. Any trial / inspection more than welcomed. In fact, owing of the age of the vehicle and the fact I don't know an awful lot about them, I would really rather the car was viewed BEFORE you bid to make sure you are happy with it. The car is currently located in Hayes, North West London, (near Heathrow), and is available to be seen at most times with a bit of notice. A couple of pointers about the listing if I may: * I will let the auction run for 10 days to give people the opportunity to view the vehicle. * I won't end the auction early, I don't think that's fair on other bidders. * Car is for pick up only. * I am not interested in shipping the car abroad, sorry. * You are bidding to buy, not view. Please view the car before you bid. *No bids from people with under 10 feedback please. * Please don't ask for a Buy it Now price. I'll let the auction run and it makes what it makes. * Payment either by cash on collection or bank transfer please. All monies must be cleared before the vehicle can be taken. * Vehicle to collected within 5 days of the auction end. Sorry for all the T's and C's but I'm sure we all know why it's needed!

For Sale - LAND ROVER SERIES 3 - 1972 - Grimsby - Online Auction

Sellers Comments
For auction I have my Land Rover series 3 short wheel base. I have owned it only for a few months. Was a must buy as I have known of this vehicle for some years. It was owned by a local chap, who around 10 years ago set about a complete rebuild. He removed the old Diesel engine, had the original chassis shot blasted, repaired as required and then sent it off to be acid dipped / cleaned and galvanised. At the same time he did the same to the bulkhead, which was modified first to take the ROVER V8 engine. The front radiator panel was treated similarly and all body cappings also re- galvanised.
The rebuild then included parabolic springs , polly bushes, Range Rover 3.54 diffs, Rover SD1 engine, and more.
Roll forward a few years and some use and maybe a little abuse, the Land-Rover, due to his work commitments was layed up and stood unused for almost 3 years. That's where I came in. I bought it as a Winter project and have spent many hours and a fair bit of cash improving, but in doing so have neglected other things and my other projects, so one has to go and I have decided this is the one.
The list of the work I have completed is extensive, some jobs small, others more involved, but a brief list, is as follows :-

Trans: brake o/h, inc; new mintex shoes, return springs and oil seal.
Rear diff removed to drill casting to fit filler / level plug.
All brakes inspected, freed off, bled, adjusted.
New axle casing breathers.
New rear hub oil seals and seal landing rings fitted.
All oil levels checked, topped up or changed.
Engine oil and filter changed.
New remote oil filter pipes.
New spark plugs and HT leads.
One new fuel pipe.
New speedo cable.
New choke cable.
New genuine part, LUCAS indicator switch assembly.
New military style , LUCAS ignition switch.
New lamp lens.
Replacement headlamp.
Various wiring replaced.
Alternator replaced with good used unit.
Near side sill  panel changed.

The above is not the full list and in addition the starter motor, fuel tank and facet fuel pump have been recently replaced.

The Land Rover flew through its MOT test, drives very well and the engine sounds as it should. There are a few negative points, the front brakes will need new shoes within next  year, depending on mileage covered, the door tops are corroded and could do with renewal and the engine suffers from a fuelling problem. Maybe the carbs need o/h. I did find a blockage in the tank  pick up pipe, but that has been rectified, the fuel pump checked ( it is almost new ) and in line filters cleaned. I could, I am sure resolve the fault , but having spent so much time on the vehicle, I have a list of other things to do.

In conclusion, the previous owner rebuilt the Land Rover to last a long time, with a galvanised chassis and bulkhead and in that respect he did a good job. With a little bit more work, the vehicle will give many more years of service and pleasure. It is tax exempt and I only paid £78.00 for insurance and that is declaring the 3.5 v8 engine details , but then I am getting on in years.

You are welcome to any inspection, a coffee or tea, chat about Land-Rovers  and take her for a drive on a test run if you have insurance. I am not desperate to sell, as if there is no interest, then I will keep it and progress the improvements next Spring , when it is more pleasant to work outside. As far as price is concerned, I am looking to recover my outlay, excluding my time. There is no reserve and for a Land Rover on a galvanised chassis and bulkhead, it is a very realistic if not low start price.

Thanks for looking.

Land Rover Defender TD5 2001 (Massive Spec) 64000 Miles.

The Spec is as follows: Forge Motorsport Intercooler, Forge Motorsport Turbo Actuator, TD5-inside remap, Full custom stainless steel side exit exhaust with DPF removal, EGR Delete, Samco heavy duty intercooler and turbo hoses with new stainless clips, Adjustable tow bar (13 pin), 16 x 10 Modular wheels with new tyres, Extended wide arches, RDX Grill, Top Spec Midland CB Radio, Corbeau wingback bucket seats with matching large centre cubby storage box including 2 cup holders, rear side facing seats, Uprated (return to centre) steering damper, New suspension with 2" lift, Diff Guards, Steering Guard with A-Bar bumper with winch mount, Side steps, Rear step, New mudflaps without exhaust cut out, High spec steel cable super winch with remote, Uprated Odyssey battery, Fully carpeted rear and custom made headlining with LED lights, New windscreen with blue top band, New windscreen rubber, New heated rear window, Tinted glass all round, Aero wipers all round, Front wind deflectors, Leather trimmed door panels, All LED lights including headlights - indicators - side lights - brake lights - indicators - reverse light - fog light, 2 x Ultra powerful LED light bars (small one comes on with high beam, large one above windscreen is on a switch), LED rear work light (on switch), Puma Bonnet, New bonnet vents and side vents. Smaller sport steering wheel and seats been moved over 1.5 inches on new runners to help prevent hitting your elbow on the door. New Steering Box, New UV joints, all oils and filters changed including diffs, gearbox and engine oils. New fuel filter, power steering fluid and coolant change. Fully undersealed and wax oiled. Fully Polybushed. Category 1 Toad alarm and immobiliser, and also comes with a heavy duty pedal lock, which locks over the three pedals so it can't be driven away. Kenwood DAB / CD/ MP3 / Bluetooth stereo, with Audison two way front speakers, JL Audio 10W6 subwoofer with custom made enclosure, JL Audio 500w sub amplifier (all sounds amazing) with bluetooth phone, i-phone cradle mount and usb connection. This truck is stunning and turns heads everywhere it goes. It has had all the common issues with a TD5 checked and renewed / modified including a new ecu loom also. It drives lovely and now has the power that is was missing from the factory. My only reason for selling is that i don't use it, and it just sits there on the driveway. I have never really took it off-road, but is more than capable as you can see from the spec. These are hard to find with this mileage and spec, and also in this condition. Pretty much everything listed in the advert is under a year old. Very reluctant sale, and a good future investment for whoever buys it.
