Land Rover Series 3 - Lightweight - 1980

Made in 1980 but not registered by the MOD until 1983.

Owned by me for 20 years. It is time to sell by beloved lightweight as I just can’t stand to watch it not being used year after year. When I did use her it was only for the odd shooting weekend. No serious off roading.  Comes with 11 months MOT.
The land Rover has been modified over the years.
3.5 litre v8 early range rover engine. Fitted before the last owner approximately 23 years ago
Salisbury rear axle
Range rover diff in armoured front axle
Free wheeling hubs on front axle
Overdrive so 5th gear
Roll bar correctly mounted to the chassis.
Two front seats (high backed) with 3 point harnesses
Cubby box in between front seats with space for stereo
Warn M6000 winch
Aluminium chequered plate in rear tub
General SAG’s on eight spoke steel wheels with unused spare
Tool vault in rear tub for secure storage
Electronic ignition
Twin SU carbs with K&N air filters
New oil and filter
New water and coolant after flush
All oils checked and changed
7inch chrome spotlights
Steering bash guard
NATO hooks to front and rear

Condition:
In general good condition, she could do with a new soft top but still water tight, needs a passengers door top as it’s a little rusty by the window channel. The winch only pulls in and freewheels out, don’t know why. Fuel gauge has stopped working.

Please understand this is not a modern 4wd, this is a no nonsense truck with not a hint of carpet in sight. Hose out chequer plate floor and vinyl seats. Built tough to last. No welding or rust on chassis or footwells.

Land Rover Series 2a 1971 SPARES /REPAIRS *RUNNER* , TAX FREE

Sellers Comments - 1971 Series 2A (I think) short wheel base land rover. This land rover has been owned by my brother and father for approximately 20 years. It came as a very tidy light blue petrol truck cab and was modified to what you can see in the pictures. It is fitted with a 2.5na diesel from a 110, series 3 gearbox (I think), 110 windscreen, door tops and modified roof. It had a new wiring loom and various other parts at the time. It was also brush painted green, had the fuel tank installed in the tub and a roll cage and bull bars fitted. It never made it back on the road and has been lurking around my fathers farm since - it has a few battle scars, the brakes are awfull, the clutch is not operational (needs bleeding I think), the rear springs and exhaust are shot, the engine needs a lot of cranking to start but runs fine (I think this is a timing / glow plug issue) It does however have a very good chassis and bulkhead and we have the V5 for it. The land rover is a project vehicle and requires trailered away. Being a land rover it is not beyond restoration and would be a good project for someone or could donate it's good chassis, bulkhead and tax free registration to your project

1966 LAND ROVER 88" - 4 CYL PETROL GREEN SERIES 2a SWB RAGTOP (Tax exempt) May part exhange for great Range Rover V8 P38 or L322

Here we have 'Gizmo' my 50 year old (tax exempt) Landrover Series 2a. As I write this I am still not 100 percent sure i want him to go, but I am opting for a Range Rover V8 (need a longer distance vehicle) so I would consider a very clean p/x or p/x with cash either way. I know the P38 and L322 faults so would have to be free of those to be considered.

I have owned him for the last year and spent lots of time and money on him getting him into daily comfortable use, and include
New Carb.
Gearbox overall to stop the very annoying jumping out of third.
New master and slave cylinder.
New door tops
Fume curtain
Defender heater
New seat bases
New wiper motors
Mats / soundproofing throughout
..and lots of other things i cant think of at the moment.

He's on a fantastic chassis and bodywork (rot wise) its 100 percent clean which is why i bought him. Few dents on the body but does nothing to effect the look. Someone looks to have fitted a snorkel in the past and a hole in the wing top is plugged with a plastic bung (can't say i every really notice) but thought i would mention. Gearbox is now 100 percent. Transfer box works as should. Engine is great, and starts every time, uses a bit of oil but that's more likely to be because I'm using semi synthetic which they were never designed for (photos are taken while engine running). Its the petrol (perhaps not original engine) and not fantastic mpg but to be honest these are not cars for high mileage folks. I have the original wheels for it (two tyres good two need replacing) which are in with the sale. There is a decent set of wheels and tyres on it now. I have got rid of the terrible and leaking smiths heater and fitted a defender heater which is miles better (see pic. of mod to inside to accommodate). Mats and sound proofing fitted which is not for everyone but does mean you can talk to your passenger, if you don't like just peel off. Rag top in great condition, with new fume curtain. One of the clocks has a crack (see pic)

Please come and look, not for the rivet counter or purest but very clean, fun to drive and a real head turner, and mods to make it a daily albeit local drive.

Tax exempt with 1 months MOT but will put 12 months on it if it exceeds £4,500. It will sail through.

Located in SOUTH WEST SCOTLAND 'GIRVAN' AREA.

LAND ROVER DEFENDER 110 MIGHT PX Soft Top Canvas Tilt

Land Rover 110 Diesel Started life as a petrol pick up The body had been taken off the chassis rubbed down and painted The body is very straight with only a couple of minor imperfections. Last year I sourced a low mileage 200tdi Discovery Lump. This has been fitted properly and had a major service before being fitted. I fitted a set of stick and a canvas placed on it, Last year I took the plunge and put a brand new roof on it from Exmoor Trim. Along with new bench seats in the back The Private Plates have now been removed The Landy will come as seen with the rims in the first few picture or could come with 10x15 modular if price lowered Any viewings are welcome Also had a new brake master servo fitted last year. Any questions please ask I might take a px at trade value.

LAND ROVER DEFENDER 110 300Tdi - For Sale

For sale is my Land Rover Defender 110 300Tdi.

It's a long wheelbase soft top, great for accepting awkward size loads (wide opening compared to normal back door) - fits more in. Plus, converts in 15 minutes into a pickup, still keeping the cabin covered, also great for summer fun.

The bit you should know about is an inch & a half tear to canvas on the rear. That's it! Very immaculate, in and out. The Landie looks great!

·      CD player/radio with USB connection

·      Low genuine mileage: under 77,500 miles.

·      300 tdi - a very versatile engine, and the best for the balance of simplicity and modern efficiency.

·      Power steering.

·      Disc brakes all round.

·      Multi-height tow bar.

·      Snorkel.

·      2 swivel points.

·      3ml black chequered plate.

·      Stainless steel bull bar.

·      Steering guard.

·      Front and back Dif guards.

·      Has x2 bench seats with seat belts, but one is not currently being used.

·      The underside has been fully wax-oiled in 2014 by 'rust master' which has a five-year warranty.

3 year old Exmoor Trim canvas hood - very good. Ex-MOD vehicle - it came out of the MOD in 2004. It's been well-cared for by all previous owners. 4 months MOT remaining.

If you have a desire to purchase a good defender, you will not be disappointed with this one. I will be very sad to see it go - such a useful tool, not just a vehicle - and whoever purchases the vehicle will undoubtedly have as much fun using it as I have had.

Please come and view if you can, but if not be sure I will help you as much as I can with questions should you wish to buy.

£6750 - may consider a Part-Ex

This car is in excellent "unmolested" condition. The paintwork and bodywork are in really good order and the upholstery shows little sign of wear and tear. I have loads of history for the car including a fully stamped service book, some bills and most of the old MOT certificates. The car drives superbly and to find a Defender in this sort of condition took me a long, long time. Most people who see the car assume that it's only a couple of years old and that I paid a stack of money for it (it's currently on a cherished plate which I'll remove and retain prior to sale). The Td5 engine is the last of the genuine Land Rover engines later Defenders were fitted with Ford Transit engines. The only reason it's for sale is that my wife, who has had a lengthy spell in hospital, finds it simply too heavy for her to drive - if it was down to me we'd be keeping it but we need a car that will cater for our two large dogs and that we can both drive. As you'll probably know, good Defenders are tipped to be an appreciating asset which is not something you can say about many used cars!

If you would like to view the car please do so before the auction ends as if you bid I will expect you to honour the bid. I am situated in The Vale Of Belvoir (Postcode NG13) - about 12 miles from Nottingham and 10 miles from Grantham, just off the main A52.

1993 LAND ROVER RANGEROVER VOGUE EFI WESTMINSTER GREY 1 year MOT, Excellent Condition, Used as holiday car

Extremely reluctant sale, but no longer required as the family has grown up. This car has been used for family holidays in the Highlands of Scotland for over 10 years. It hasn't done any serious off-roading, but has been been used on single-track roads and sometimes unmettled tracks. It has towed and launched boats and carried bicycles. Most of the time, It has been garaged waiting for holiday time. Its been fitted with many extras for our leisure use.

Steel front bumper with hitch
Front Mounted Electric Winch "Champion"(fully functioning)
Front towball
Steering guard
Diff Guard
Roof bars with surf-board holder (currently dismounted)
Rear variable height tow-flange (with towball and pin)
Waterproof seat covers both front & rear
General Cooper All-Terrain tyres with ample tread
Spring suspension (the air suspension was removed for reliability)
Sony Bluetooth iPod compatible Radio/CD

It has an enormous history file detailing some of the owners and much of the servicing and work done over the years. The lower tailgate was replaced 5 years ago, and the upper was replaced with an aluminium version. The rear load area floor was replaced with a fabricated unit by specialists James Fench of Witney around 5 years ago. After wrestling with the air suspension (it was not reliable) I replaced it with spings. I regularly go over the car after holidays and any paint bubbles or scratches are coated with anti-rust and painted. It was rustproofed at "before n' after" just under 10 years ago.

Note that this car is over 20 years old and while it has been regularly used and well looked after, it has some minor body dents (see photos) and the roof lining is drooping. There is a blow from the exhaust manifold (its been there for the last 8 years). The aircon doesn't work (not really needed in Inverness) and the blower stopped working at Christmas.  I have just driven it down from Inverness to Didcot and she didn't miss a beat. I cannot, however, describe the car and its faults or wear and tear in full and you must see it and judge its value for yourself.

The car has been serviced regularly and used about 3 times a year for last 10 years during holidays. It comes with a large history file and 1 years MOT.  Available to view near Didcot. First offer of £3,950 secures

1966 Land Rover Series IIA V8 - For Sale £7950 ONO - Chester

1966 | D Registered | 3.5 Rover V8 | 3.54 High Ratio Diffs | Freewheeling Hubs | 11” Front Brakes | New Hood | Recently Serviced | MOT’d until 7th April 2017

Specification:
1966 model on original chassis. 3.5l Rover V8 engine with twin carbs from the Range Rover Classic, coupled to 3.54 (high ratio) Range Rover differentials via the strong Series IIA 4spd manual transmission. Parabolic springs all round, rebuilt axles with 11” LWB brakes on the front, coupled to a servo. Electric in-tank fuel pump. LWB steel wheels with 7.50x16 radial Michelin off road tyres. Brand new full removable canvas tilt, exhaust system from manifolds back, battery, fuel tank, radiator, and door tops. Fresh fluids and filters. Original Marine Blue paint. Original Cheshire registration. Accompanying the vehicle is a full specification sheet with service parts listed making maintenance easy.

Description:
The Series IIA is considered by many the hardiest Series model constructed, having the same main design as the original Series 1, but improved upon in many areas. It is the type of classic Land Rover that features strongly in the general public's perception of the Land Rover, and its shape was carried right through to the most recent Defender, which only this year has seized production after its long 67 year life span.
This particular model is the archetypal blue ‘Regular’ short wheel base (88”), but with a twist… It has a very powerful 3.5 litre Rover V8 lifted from a Range Rover Classic! It starts readily and runs well, ticking over with a gorgeous smooth ‘burble’ at the tailpipe. It will cruise around town and country very smoothly, but floor the throttle pedal and accelerates very well (for an old Land Rover anyway)! It will sit at 60-65 mph all day long. Don’t be put off by the fuel economy, it has the same, if not better MPG than a standard 2.25 petrol engined vehicle. It will pull up to a stop nice and straight with the uprated, servo assisted brakes. On road of off it, the vehicle is very capable and manoeuvrable, with its parabolic springs and tall tyres.
The chassis and bulkhead are believed to be completely original, but have had repairs in the past to a good standard, including new rear cross member, front dumb irons and new outriggers… Most of it’s new! It has also been fully undersealed inside and out to protect it for the future. The bulkhead is mildly modified to accept the V8 engine. The vehicle has been recommissioned by the previous owner over the winter, since it has been out of use since 1998, until he found it and decided to get it back on the road. The exterior of the vehicle has been resprayed to a good standard in its original colour, and inside the paintwork still has a lovely original patina. The interior is good; with vinyl ‘Deluxe’ front seats and rear bench seats for passengers. There are auxiliary volt and oil pressure gauges, a 12v socket for a satnav, the original Smiths round heater, and a rare hand throttle that still works! The vehicle has a very long MoT until 7th April 2017.

This vehicle would make a fantastic investment, that can be used, enjoyed and cherished, ideal for those hood-off trips down the pub on a summers evening!

1960 Series 2 Land Rover 2.5 Diesel 4X4 Tax Exempt Green SWB 88” - For Sale - £2500 ONO

1960 Series 2 Land Rover 2.5 Diesel 4X4 Tax Exempt Green SWB 88” Chassis No 141002880 30+MPG
This is my old Series 2 Land Rover which I am selling as I need to focus on other projects. She was first registered on 10/05/1960 and is chassis number 141002880. Please note there is a mixture of pictures from over the time I have owned her, she is now in a friends dry storage.

She has a 2.5 15J diesel engine which is consistent and has done long trips faultlessly and reliably, I have had a good 34MPG out of it although it is no racing car! I have been on trips abroad with her, I am happy & comfortable with the performance and the quirks of the engine however don’t expect extreme performance, she will reliably chug along all day through many difficult conditions and as I have found out she is very, very capable in slippery, muddy, steep places. I joined a Land Rover Club and was taken around a short course by a member to demonstrate it’s off road ability, it went amazingly and the old fashioned ‘narrow’ off road tyres give a lot of traction! That was the only time it has been ‘off-roading’ in my ownership. She has that classic look and is in broadly original condition apart from the engine as mentioned and I think the front brakes which are from a V8, so it stops well relatively compared to original period brakes. The engine does smoke on start up like most old Land Rovers, but clears in use and does not use oil more than it should, it is an old diesel after all and not like the modern diesels of today, yes you will need to glow the plugs before start up! It is very cheap to run after all and built for work rather than speed!

It has new front brake cylinders and front shoes, and rubber brake connection hoses all round however she will need bleeding to finish. She ran well when she was on the road however she is going to benefit from some restoration work to get through an MOT, she needs a new rear cross member and new front dumb irons or patching by a competent welder. If I was keeping her then I would put a new galvanised chassis on for the long term and maybe give her more of a restoration at the same time, she needs a good clean and if the new owner wanted then you could give her a fresh coat of paint. Like any old car it has its quirks but that is to be expected for a car of this age. The bulkhead is good to my knowledge, please come and inspect her for yourself. Also has large Smiths heater and nice big Land Rover mud flaps, it has the early series razor edge bonnet and large bonnet hinges & early air vents with early screw controls. The cab is pretty original inside.

It would make a good project to have a fun car for summer, it was great fun with the top off and so useful for putting dogs or logs in etc. It will come with a full length hard top, door tops and possibly a good set of tyres as the ones in the picture are now on a different vehicle. If it sells for the ‘buy it now’ price then it shall come with a spare set of tyres I have, the same as in the pictures which are a ‘Deestone Extra Traction’ type tread pattern though the actual make may vary. There is also a tow hitch that comes with it for the ‘buy it now’ price.

Any questions please ask, I am happy to show people around the vehicle by arrangement, she is in a friends dry storage at the moment. I have tried to list all of its points but I may have missed something so please come and inspect the vehicle yourself so that you can have a good look around and be happy with the work that needs doing etc. It will need to be put on a trailer to take away, or I can deliver locally by arrangement.

Land Rover Defender 110 - Year 2001 - TD5

Sellers Comments - Reluctantly it's time for me to sell my land rover defender 110 TD5. The land rover is an ex utility vehicle which I brought originally to convert into a tipper as it has the 3.500 kg chassis . Since owning it has been well maintained and all work carried out to a high standard. The chassis itself is is in great condition for its age as it has been regularly wax oiled twice by me. I have also painted it gun metal grey and have half a tin of paint which will come with it. Additionally it has a stainless steel exhaust, performance TD5 air filter, TD5 EGR blanking kit and silicon hoses, the engine runs really well and pulls like a train.

More Information - Additional Photos

Land Rover 1955 Modified Series 1 ** Fantastic Bit Of Kit **

.Sellers Comments - This Land Rover has been modified and is running with a Daihatsu turbo diesel engine and running gear. The V5 registration document states 1955 Series 1 Land Rover, which means it is tax exempt and does not require an MOT test. This has not been modified by "Dave and his mate in the shed" (no offence Dave) but by professionals with experience in off roading. It has the fuel tank in the cabin behind the seats, a full substantial roll cage, an ignition system suitable for off roading which has switches to manually turn on and off the ignition and fuel, with a stop start button. It has high/low mid range setting that are selected for gearing, as well as the 5 regular road gears. The soft top can all be removed from the cabin very easily. There are galvanised metal plates where necessary. Everything about it has been built to be strong as an ox and everything is finished very nicely to a high standard. It is a proper piece of kit that will not disappoint. It must have cost a fortune to build, along with the initial purchase of a Series 1 Land Rover, which is not cheap. Everything on the Land Rover is in perfect working order. The mechanics are fantastic. The gear box, brakes, suspension, steering are all great and the engine doesn't burn or use any oil etc and has loads of power. There is no rot anywhere on the car and it has seen few miles since being built. The car currently sits with the odometer reading just shy of 23,000 miles, it has 10 previous owners on the V5 document and it has MOT until December 2016 with no advisories.
