Land Rover Series One 80" 1950, 1600cc, unrestored, very original, 25500 miles

Sellers Comments - 1950 Land Rover 80" Lights through grill, narrow spring model with yellow knob freewheel gearbox. Chassis number 061123xx 25500 miles which I beleive is genuine judging by previous history and wear on pedals (I am only second recorded keeper) Very original unrestored vehicle with original Staffordshire registration. I have owned this for eight years, prior to my purchase it was laid up in a barn since the mid 1960's. The chassis and bulkhead are in very good condition. The chassis has no patches, and original rear crossmember with implement towing plate.

Land Rover Series 3

Sellers Comments - Hi everyone. I bought this Landrover with a view of restoring it. At first I was somewhat enthusiastic about the project but found I did not have time to complete it. The vehicle is currently SORN with no MOT. It has a Heritage certificate and will be tax exempt this year. The bits restored. Driver and passenger flooring renewed using stainless steel screws. Braking system. All new wheel cylinders and brake linings. All new front seats and recon runners. Driver and passenger door seals replaced Vent rubbers replaced Gear stick, transfer drive rubbers replaced. A new metal centre box installed replacing the centre seat. Have new seat if required. New centre and tail box exhaust........yet to be installed. Still bundled New headlights..........Yet to be installed Bad bits. No MOT Some welding needed under driver side crossmember. Paint work rubbish as I have rubbed down a lot of flaking paint Small dent in n/s wing. Small water leak coming from the roof. Needs sealing I have tried to be as honest as I can regards to condiction. But this is a project. I have driven it and all the gears, the transfer box all operating ok. Engine does not smoke and starts first time. There are slight oil leaks nothing major. It drives like a pig. But that's the fun of it. Most landys this age drive like total animals. This will be a good on going project for someone who has the time. Please view the vehicle before bidding. I don't want anyone to be disappointed.

1971 land rover lightweight for restoration Original condition , starts and drives .

Sellers Comments - Starts and drives , has had new rear x member fitted , rest of chassis in reasonable order but may require a little bit of welding here and there . Bulkhead is poor and vent panel also poor . I have its army history and apart from the hard top is pretty much standard , it is as you can see in the pics , in need of restoration , brakes are binding but it does move under its own steam . Its a nice early series 3 , ideal winter project for someone .

1967 Land Rover Series 2a 88inch 2 1/4 Petrol SWB Pickup £500 NO RESERVE

Sellers Comments - Welcome to my Auction for a Land Rover series 2a 1967 SWB I purchased this in 2009 and have not done anything with it, I was intending to completely strip and restore / overhaul to a usable everyday vehicle, however 7 years down the line I have realized this isn't going to happen its just sad to see the old girl deteriorating outside the house so reluctantly I have decided to part with her, she comes with current mot and obviously TAX EXEMPT (huge saving) Body work wise she is best described as tatty and functional,Doors need usual repairs, interior is basic and shabby seats are not original but functional, the engine seems fine to me and always starts OK (bit smoky initially) the bulk head could do with tidying and as for the chassis it has had welding in the past and is covered in some type of bitumen, the rear chassis has been replaced at some time,Heater has been bodged into engine bay and hot water pipes feed into cab, I replaced the fuel tank with a Brand new one in January, also the Solex carburetor was replaced (see photo) the only time I drive this is to the MOT station and around the block ! please study the pictures carefully and I would advise viewing before bidding (it's old and needs TLC), to be on the safe side I would advise trailering away as never driven over 5 miles at a time, (only when I initially collected the vehicle 45 miles away 7 years ago !) Does drive and seems to stop in a straight line ! Comes with the 4 spare tyres and a CRANKING HANDLE ! This may be a bargain and with a bit of time and effort should turn out a reliable Iconic vehicle Number Plates will be replaced with newer white and Yellow.

Land rover series 88' SWB - 1967

Sellers Comments - For sale is my series Landover. 1967 so it is tax exempt. It has 11 months MOT. All round good condition. It has a 2.5 diesel engine. Has overdrive and comes with a roof rack with ladder. Has comfy Saab seats in front. Centre console with stereo inside. Has shelf above windscreen with speakers. Folding bench seats both sides in back. Has tow bar and electrics and rear work light. The only thing that lets it down, I think, is the lower dash vinyl which is cracked as normally these are.

1958 Land Rover Series 1 Station Wagon

Sellers Comments - What can I say? This is a tired but Rare Series 1 Station Wagon with a later 2.25L Petrol engine installed and is in the condition as per photos. Chassis and bulkhead are not rotten and are in remarkably good shape - except for rear crossmember. Missing rear bench seat and two folding seats (ones shown in pics are not part of the auction as they belong to another vehicle). Engine turns over, but petrol is old and stale. Can be put on the road with very little work, but will take a fair bit of effort to make her look perfect! Purchased recently and imported as a restoration project and I would love to keep it but circumstances have changed and have to raise funds for home renovation instead. Will come with V5 and UK plates. Will need to be transported away.

Land Rover 1972 series 3 turbo diesel. Drives well. Project

Sellers Comments - This land rover is an ideal project for someone who doesn't want too much to make this into a smart, original vehicle. It is in France very near to Dinan in Brittany. You can get there easily by ferry to St Malo, Dieppe, Cherbourg, Caen or by air to Dinard. I am a retired mechanical engineer and bought it with other things from the estate of some people moving back to the UK for health reasons. Its a lovely unspoilt vehicle and was used on the French roads since 2002 and was issued with French MOTs and insurance certificates during that time. I have all the documentation to prove this. I have a certificate of permanent export issued by the UK department of transport dated 28/2/2002 but the vehicle continued to be used on its UK plates and not registered on the French system I can't find proof of being on the road after 30/1/2014, I presume that is when the owner became ill! It drives very well and all major things seem to work OK. I fitted a new battery when I bought it about 1 year ago. I have done nothing to it as I am not an enthusiast but this would be a lovely project for anyone who is. The vehicle is complete, the tires are all good and it comes with a complete set of new, genuine, Land Rover mud flaps and front mats. The pictures show these in the back together with some side window channels and some metal flanges etc that I believe are for back seats or something similar, there are the original mesh guards for the front and rear light clusters. I will be in Dinan for the first week in August so anyone who wants to see it can then, if you fly out with Ryan air I could possible meet you at the airport. That's about all I can tell you. Its all very straight forward. I will only accept payment in cash or by Bank draft

1958 2 x Wheel Drive Series One Land Rover

This is a very rare opportunity to become the proud owner of this lovingly restored Series One Land Rover which has been in my family for 25 years. There were only 80 of these in the two wheel drive format ever made, & they were used as Military Staff cars. It has been restored for 5 years. It has an 88 inch pickup cab which is in excellent condition for it's age. The chassis is in excellent, original condition with no repairs. The panels are all original. It has new tyres, brakes & suspension. At present it is fitted with a 2.25 series 2A engine & gearbox, but the original ones are here waiting to be restored & fitted. All original engine, gearbox & chassis numbers match the date January 1958. The production of the Series One ended in February 1958 so this is one of the last ever to be produced. This is a Private Sale.

Land Rover Series 3 / 88"

Sellers Comments - Land Rover Series 3 Truck Cab in Slate Grey. 88" Chassis. Re spray and lots of history. Last owner had it for 10 years and kept it in dry storage. Fitted with a Perkins 2 Ltr. engine which gives approx. 36 mls per gallon. I do have the engineers report on the engine. Drives good, Long MOT, Chassis, Bulk Head, Brakes and tyres are all good. New shocks all round and new bumper. Interior all sound and has good defender seats with Land Rover seat covers. It has overdrive and free wheeling hubs. I will include hood sticks but there is no canvas. The door tops passenger side needs replacing, other than that all good. It is 39 yrs old so 1 more year and it will be TAX exempt.

Land Rover® Series 3 109 Pickup - Ex-Military

Sellers Comments - Land Rover is a restoration project not a weekends work !
Unmolested 1973 tax exempt Land Rover Series 3 109 pick up, 2.6 six cylinder petrol. Ex military, built 1973, registered 1985 when left the army.
Start price £250 is what I have been offered for the wheels alone! For spares or repair- chassis is quite rusty and will need some replacement or welding for an MOT I've included pictures so you can see the underside / condition. The bodywork is very straight and original.
Was rescued from a farm where it had been standing for the last 15 years, when it was parked up and left by the owners son, I don't believe there was anything wrong with it, he just went abroad and did not return. I believe it is ex-military going by the amount of underseal the chassis and under body has on it, it was also not first registered until 1985, but, is declared manufactured in 1973, I have the new style V5 in my name.
The chassis has rust broken in front of the osr spring mount and the spring mount has detached, I haven't been all over the chassis but include pictures its not nice except for the rear x-member funnily enough ! I think it must have been replaced shortly before it was parked up.
There is a great set of 7.50-16 Deestone extra grip tyres fitted on the wheels which have near new tread on them.
I have put jump leads on it but the starter just clicks and doesn't engage, but the engine is free and turns over by hand.
The brakes were seized but have freed off when it was winched it up onto a trailer, both clutch and brake pedals are locked solid but I will try to free them if I have a chance. the brakes will obviously need attention and the fluid is low in the master cylinder so i guess a brake pipe or cylinder has gone.
The bodywork is extremely straight and tidy for a land rover of its age. under its non military camo paint job ! the paint has worn through to the ally in places and pretty much gone completely on the ns front wing, I think this was replaced and not etch primed. The top strip of the tailgate is rusty where it was laying in the back upside down, the door tops are rotten but the bottoms aren't bad. the bulkhead is very good, I've taken pictures to show this at the top but there is surface rust in the footwells and some rot starting above the pedals.

Land Rover 1980 109 Series 3 - KDF 695V

This starts, runs well drives yet the steering is very heavy / stiff - needs attention as it is so heavy it would best be trailered away not driven long distances, the headlights need attention yet other lights appear to work. Sold as seen. There are a couple of small boxes of spare nuts and bolts and gaskets etc. included in the sale. This is the V6 Petrol engined Model.

Land Rover Series 1 Eezion Barn Find

This Series 1 Land Rover body type is probably the only one in existence, It has been stored on a farm for excess of 40 years and recently moved to maintain buildings. It is in very poor condition and requires a full restoration. This is (or was) an 86" 1954 vehicle with a 2L engine, FWD only This Eezion was a hydraulic body, Approved by Land rover and adapted to Land Rover (or other) chassis cab (research on Google will confirm). It was commissioned to an equestrian in Royston and then passed onto my farmer friend. 1 of the pictures is the same as the original vehicle. Due to too many restorations in the queue, we have decided to let this 1 go to fund other on-going projects. You are welcome to view by appointment.

Landrover Series One (1) 1958 88 inch

First registered 09-Jan-58 10 owners from new.
I purchased this hardtop series 1 Landy in 2012 with the intention of doing a complete restoration and converting to soft-top. I got it running and MOT tested with no advisories. I started to acquire some parts I knew I would need, these included new period seats (which I fitted as it had tatty defender seats) and a new galvanised hood frame and canvas (not fitted but included in the sale). Unfortunately, time, moving house, age, and more recently personal mobility problems have conspired against me and the Landy now has to live outside in a seaside climate with me having little prospect of ever getting the restoration done. So it would be far better for this vehicle to be taken on by someone else to preserve/restore and use.
Description.

I’ll try to be as honest as I can with this and I am happy for prospective purchasers to view and inspect by prior arrangement. The main issue with the vehicle at the moment is exposed and non-galvanised steelwork (chassis wheels, fittings etc) does not like the sea air environment and is generally acquiring surface rust. This clearly does not help the appearance and needs attention and protection. It will need some attention before putting it on the road but this should be relatively straightforward.

KFO 130 - 1963 Land Rover Series IIA - Survivor !! 34,498 miles

KFO 130 - 1963 Land Rover Series IIA - Survivor !!
Rare to find in this condition - this particular Land Rover came to us back in 2000 in a rather unusual way.
Local businessman Mr Stephen Johns was in the process of retiring, selling his business and embarking on a dream that he had had for his retirement - a museum of unusual vehicles and memorabilia. He was looking for some particularly unusual Land Rovers for what was to become the famous"Exmoor Classic Car Collection".
Naturally, looking to find the best and most unusual examples available he came to visit us here at the Land Rover Centre.
Over the period of a couple of months he purchased a number of Land Rovers from us, including a concours example of a period Series 1 recovery truck fully fitted with all the equipment, a very low mileage Land Rover Fire engine, one of the ORIGINAL Tower of London Ceremonial Lightweight Land Rovers - and a deactivated 25 pounder field gun to tow behind the lightweight !
During this period, he negotiated to exchange "his old Land Rover" KFO 130 - and we were very happy to be able to take it in exchange.
It was as delightful then as it is now, and KFO soon found a new home. It has resided in Warwickshire with Walter for the last 16 years, and has been enthusiastically owned until last week, when Walter contacted us to explain that he could no longer enjoy the Land Rover due to a particularly bad back - So once again, we were more than happy to renew our friendship with KFO.
As you will see from the pictures KFO is a great survivor. It has certainly had some very light restoration work over the years - but everything that has been done has been perfectly in keeping with such a lovely example of this iconic Land Rover.
When sold by us in 2000, the mileage was 31,615 - Current mileage is a measly 34,498 - believed to be genuine, and this is backed up with the driving experience as well as previous MOT certificates:
  • 1997 - 29,662 miles
  • 1998 - 30,790
  • 1999 - 31,258
  • 2000 - 31,604
  • 2000 - 31,615
  • 2001 - 31,954
  • 2002 - 32,215
  • 2003 - 32,728
  • 2004 - 33,005
  • 2005 - 33,093
  • 2006 - 33,196
  • 2007 - 33,465
  • 2008 - 33,600
  • 2009 - 33,686
  • 2010 - 33,803
  • 2011 - 33,915
  • 2012 - 33,959
  • 2013 - 34,180
  • 2014 - 34,252
  • 2015 - 34,356
  • 2016 - 34,498 - current mileage
Other original features include:
  • metal spoke steering wheel
  • correct for period Tex Magnalux indicator stalk
  • Round Smiths heater
  • Single smiths windscreen wiper
  • 600 x 16 Avon traction mileage tyres
This Land Rover is ready to be used and admired exactly as it is - or the new custodian may consider some "improvements" - entirely to their own taste, choice and budget:
Canvas Tilt - The existing canvas is in usable condition and has lovely patina - but a new canvas would give a very fresh look (£329)
Front seats - These have been upgraded to deluxe black vinyl - a set of period reproduction "Elephant hide" would take the interior to a new level (£342)
Rear seats - none currently fitted, but many of our clients will request these to use as occasional seats for extra passengers (2 x rear bench £139 - Black vinyl, £264 - "Elephant hide")
Rear Lap belts - None currently fitted - set of 4 (£220)
All of the above options are "in stock" and can be quickly and easily added to the Land Rover fit your requirements.
Having driven the Land Rover today, I can report that it is an absolute pleasure to drive, and attracts a lot of attention - (Mark Griffiths).
The chassis and bulkhead are in exceptional condition and mechanically everything has the feel you would hope from such a low mileage Land Rover.
The Land Rover will be fully serviced prior to hand over, have a full 12m MOT, and free road tax will be arranged on behalf of the new owner
Don't forget, a £500 holding deposit will secure any of our Land Rovers - please ask for details.

1966 Land Rover Series 2a 109

2.25 petrol, ex-military, tax exempt.
There are 29,400 miles on the clock, the gearchange is very precise and the 4x4 system works as it should.
I’ve owned this Land Rover for 6 years, and have recently refurbished the running gear and paintwork.
The previous owner intended to fit a 200 Tdi engine at some point, so they fitted the front panels from a Defender to give extra space for the installation. The vehicle also has a hardtop, one-piece screen and seats from a Defender, with inertia reel seatbelts on the two outer seats (lap belt on the centre seat). The rear door is also from a Defender & has a rear screen demister element (not wired in).
I’ve recently replaced the clutch slave cylinder and all the wheel cylinders and brake shoes, and fitted new parabolic leaf springs to the rear. The front leaf springs are in good condition. It also has a new water pump and engine service items (points & condenser and spark plugs). It is fitted with an electric fan instead of the standard viscous fan.
All the electrics work, with the exception of the panel back-light. The door tops are in good condition, although the sliding window rail needs replacing on the passenger side. The chassis and bulkhead are solid.
It passed its MOT in mid-March with just one advisory (the traditional Land Rover ‘oil leak’, which was a weep from the sump plug). I’ve covered a little over 100 miles since then without any trouble.
I’ll put a fresh MOT on the vehicle for the new owner.
The Land Rover is in Shipley, West Yorkshire, and can be viewed at any time.
