Landrover defender 110 TD5 2002
Here we have our 2002 defender 110 with the well renowned
TD5 engine fitted from new
We purchased this Landy with the sole intention of fitting
sets of rear seats and fitting the panoramic side windows in but I have been
offered a super smart110 double cab that I really want and have been chasing it
for a while now so this one is now surplus to requirements.
This particular 110 was chosen as it was a great example to
start with and a good basis for me to do some little mods to make it a bit
nicer to use on the road - certainly very straight for a 2002 landrover 110
The mechanicals are all exactly as expected and work like
they should - high/low gearbox operates fine - engine starts on the button
first time every time and gets up to temps with no issues - brakes are spot on
and suprisingly strong actually - gearbox is the five speed manual
The exterior does look as good as the pics, panels are super
straight with very few blemishes other than the usual landrover dinks that you
get from the large rear panels flexing. It gets polished and comes up very well
indeed.
Door bottoms internally are not the usual Landy rotten items
so is suspect these may have been replaced in the past.
Seats are in great shape with mo rips or tears and only very
slight wear to be expected.
Cd player fitted in centre console with under dash
speakers
Rear load has been carpeted to the sides, roof and floor
area to make it a bit better should you have any passengers - one side bench
seat already fitted with belts
Overall a lot nicer than an empty back that's for sure
Everybody knows defenders have chassis problems if not
looked after and this one is fine. Has had some repairs in the past and I have
the reciepts for all of the work undertaken
At around 100k miles in Jan 2013 the Landy had quite a lot
of work done at the previous owners expense - another reason why I bought it
!
Jan 2013 - new rear crossmember - various bushes - oils - filters - chassis
treatment with a general overall and service - total £1800 !!!
modular wheels fitted with decent tyres with life left in
them - some suspension replacement in the past as it's not original but
lift/make unknown - rides well
Most recently - last week I have replaced all the filters
again with fresh oil and a general service and inspection at the local
landrover garage.
So there it is - a well presented defender 110, is a bit too
good for off-roading as it's nice and straight but would certainly make a good
base for it should you wish. Will
happily take the kids to school or take ya mates green laneing and it's not
been modified or played with so there's plenty of scope to personalise yet
The fuel pump is a bit noisy and as I am quite picky this
will be getting replaced early next week and it's booked in for Tuesday - if it
sells before I will happily deduct this cost from the sale price - either way
it's fine with me.
As stated this is a recent purchase to me and I have the
green slip from the V5 but awaiting the full logbook from the dvla so bare that
in mind. If you have any doubts pleases don't bid as I want a hassle free sale
- see my feedback - genuine ebayer.
Only for sale as I am looking to get my mates double cab as
I said earlier but this is not a rushed or forced sale so please keep the silly
low ball offers to yourself. All genuine interest is very welcome
