Petrol pickup / truck cab
Previously owned by Royal Ordnance Wescott and Royal
Ordnance Summerfield, and used as a security vehicle. During this time it was
regularly maintained by the on site garage mechanics.
Benefiting from a body off rebuild and respray around 5
years ago. During the rebuild all necessary welding was completed to a very
high standard including the replacement of the rear crossmember and 4 out
riggers. The bulkhead has has both foot wells and door posts replaced, hence no
rust. Door tops, bottoms and hinges on the drivers and passenger sides were
also replaced, and hinge mounted wing mirrors fitted. The Gearbox and transfer
box has been rebuilt with new bearings and seals and a new clutch fitted. All
of the brake shoes were also replaced. A servo assisted pedal box has been
fitted to reduce braking effort. New leaf springs were also fitted on the rear
axle.
Last year the swivel seals were replaced and then refilled
with Land Rover thixotropic grease and the free wheeling hubs rebuilt and
resealed.
The vehicle has 4 very good 255/70R16 BF Goodrich All
terrain TA tyres with around 7mm tread remaining on Black Modular steel rims. A
spare set of original Land Rover wheels with 7.5x16 Michelin X re-groovable
road tyres which are ideal if you are using the vehicle on the road.
