Land Rover Series 3 Safari - Mazda Diesel Conversion - Fairey overdrive - KENT

Hello and welcome to our auction for a Series 3 Land Rover Safari, with one of the Mazda Diesel conversions that were very popular in the early 1980s and which increased the vehicle's power substantially. It also has a Fairey overdrive. As this vehicle's log book shows only three previous owners and was supplied by Sturgess of Leicester, I presume it started its life on a Leicestershire estate, and has ended up on a Kentish estate where it's been used as shoot transport for the past two years. It now needs light restoration, having run out of its last MOT in January of last year. By light restoration, I mean a bit of chassis welding and attention to one of the front footwells, the other having been completely repaired by us a couple of years ago. You will not need to replace the chassis. That said, the engine starts and pulls well, clutch, gearbox and transmission are good. Brakes need improvement, electrics are OK and the interior is not bad, but could do with tidying. There is no reserve and no buy-it-now, so please don't ask, and the vehicle WILL GO to the highest bidder. If you have a feedback score of less than 10, please call me before you bid, or your bid will be removed. If you win the auction, please make contact within 24 hours by phone or the vehicle will be offered to the underbidder. Finally, cash only on collection please.
