For sale 1972 Land Rover Series 2A, Tax Exempt. Cost of insurance around £80 a year. This car is a project I started while ago and never had time to finish so decided it is a time to clear driveway and give someone else chance to have a fun with it. I owned this car for the last 3 years which for the last two is only sitting on my driveway collecting dust. 2.25l diesel engine is not starting right now as it looks like the system is air locked so has to be tow away. Need someone who has a time to check the fuel system and bleed it. Was running really well before when I bought it but I run out of diesel one day and since then I had no time to sort things out. New fuel lift pump and some fuel pipes where fitted as well as new exhaust. All wiring has been replaced to non original one but it works and is so easy to go through as there is no rocket science in this cars. Plenty of new bits and pieces. Top windows I was thinking to replace as whole part on both doors so never had them done. Plan for the wheels was to paint them black to much the rest of the car. I have a spare wheel as well. Real head turner and my kids absolutely adore this car. Inside the car is a temporary panel with switches and fuses which I thought would be nice to replace with something build from fibreglass on my own in the future..
Good tires. Roof rack. Air filter and heater are in my shed waiting to be put back in place. Whole engine very clean. Gearbox with overdrive and in really good condition. Previous owner fitted new tank. More I write more I realize how many things has been replaced. Speedo has been moved by me and disconnected at around 77k which is all this car has done.
I had a plan to join the Land Rover club this year but other project took place and have no time for fun with Landy any more. Feel free to come and have a look. Cash on collection. V5 in my name with correct colour of the car in it.
Any question please feel free to ask.
The Land Rover Defender is an off-road vehicle produced under this name by the British manufacturer, Land Rover, since 1991. However, the vehicle is the direct heir of the first Land Rover that made its debut in 1948. The first prototype was built by the British automaker in 1947 and it was designed for the army. This iconic car was improved over the years and it has been known for generations as a national treasure.
