However, the vehicle is the direct heir of the first Land Rover that made its debut in 1948. The first prototype was built by the British automaker in 1947 and it was designed for the army. Landrover series 2 1963 88in ,previous owner purchased it 15 year ago & completely stripped & rebuilt fitting a 200tdi without turbo,chassis is in vgc for its age but has a small area of corrosion on rear cross member.body panels are pretty good with new door tops, recent tilt only done 2000 mile since rebuilt, engine starts first touch with no heat, no MOT but loads of new parts fitted,80% of the work is done, (Sellers Commemts)
