The Land Rover Defender is an off-road vehicle produced under this name by the British manufacturer, Land Rover, since 1991. However, the vehicle is the direct heir of the first Land Rover that made its debut in 1948. The first prototype was built by the British automaker in 1947 and it was designed for the army. This iconic car was improved over the years and it has been known for generations as a national treasure.

Land Rover Series 3 109 bedford engine conversion
Sellers Comments - Here we have for sale a lovely series 3 109. its been fitted with a bedford 3-30 diesel engine with the relevent bedford 5 speed gearbox, with overdrive. Fitted with high speed diffs. Four wheel drive must be used off road because of the torque this engine produces. This is sold as a non runner at the moment but with minor fettling we a sure she would run, this has been stood since 1992, so has no tax or mot. There are a few spares to go with her, clutch master cylinder, bonnet and wheels. Also fitted with a compressor with air tanks to run air tools. This was used as a mobile workshop when it was in use, Will definately need new crossmember and bulkhead work.
