Sellers Comments - For sale: 1952 Land Rover Series One 80 inch. One of the batch of just 3500 provided to the Belgium Military as CKD-vehicles. This is a very nice runner in road worthy condition. It has the original red military engine, the 2 litre Land Rover Series One Siamese bore, complete with all original running gear. Drives very well. Was driven 160km when purchased from previous owner in Belgium, before being trailered back to the UK. Engine starts on the button, gearbox is really smooth, and the clutch and brakes work well. Chassis needs some repair work, nothing major. Comes complete with all registration paperwork from the previous owner. A rare find with early Series One LRs and Minerva's in such high demand. Can be viewed in Kent (ME3) by appointment only. 20% deposit to be paid by bank transfer within 24 hours of winning bid. Balance then to be paid in cash or via bank transfer prior to collection. To be collected from Kent within 7 days of purchase.
The Land Rover Defender is an off-road vehicle produced under this name by the British manufacturer, Land Rover, since 1991. However, the vehicle is the direct heir of the first Land Rover that made its debut in 1948. The first prototype was built by the British automaker in 1947 and it was designed for the army. This iconic car was improved over the years and it has been known for generations as a national treasure.
