The Land Rover Defender is an off-road vehicle produced under this name by the British manufacturer, Land Rover, since 1991. However, the vehicle is the direct heir of the first Land Rover that made its debut in 1948. The first prototype was built by the British automaker in 1947 and it was designed for the army. This iconic car was improved over the years and it has been known for generations as a national treasure.

1972 Land Rover Series 3 88 SWB + Overdrive. Tax exempt!
Finished in the original marine blue paint; structurally the car is very solid in all the usual rot spots. All the body panels are in good structural condition but the vehicle does have the usual dents and scrapes you would expect to find on a 40 year old Land rover! The chassis and rear cross member are in good condition although there has been a couple of repairs done to the chassis over time but these seem to have been to a good standard in my opinion. The bulkhead is in solid condition. The usual rot spots around the screen, front vents and A pillar are all in great condition and are totally solid. The original van top is in good condition and does not leak. Similarly, I’ve not experienced any water ingress from the screen seals whilst driving in the rain although admittedly I’ve not used it in very heavy rain. Pleasantly the doors and door tops are brand new on both the driver and passenger side – none of the usual flapping around in the wind here! The lower areas of the bulkhead are in good condition. Over all it is a nice little landy ready for work or play and whilst it does have its cosmetic faults it’s certainly not the usual rolling rusty wreck that you find advertised!
