The Land Rover Defender is an off-road vehicle produced under this name by the British manufacturer, Land Rover, since 1991. However, the vehicle is the direct heir of the first Land Rover that made its debut in 1948. The first prototype was built by the British automaker in 1947 and it was designed for the army. This iconic car was improved over the years and it has been known for generations as a national treasure.

Land Rover Series 2a 109" Central Electricity Generating Board Original paint!!
Sellers Comments - This has got to be unique! Only two owners, the first was the Central Electricity Generating Board who owned it from 1969 until 1989 when it was sold off. Ordered by the CEGB in orange direct from the Rover factory The next owner clearly loved and cherished it as it is in remarkably original and sound condition. Thank goodness for some reason he didn't paint it! Most of the original livery is in place and the rest could be easily put back on. When released from the CEGB it had 24,997 miles on the clock and it now has 58,848 miles showing. Correct type 2.25 petrol engine fitted which starts on the key and goes well. Superb sound chassis and excellent bulkhead. The gearbox is good and it has a near silent overdrive as well! Fitted with a superb Ramsey electric winch in 1985 which works well. All MOTs from 1989 until 2004 when it was stored away. Exhumed by me a few months ago and then recommissioned including brakes, exhaust, clutch and many other things. This will look great at shows as no one else will have one! New MOT until 4th July 2018. Tax exempt
