Sellers Comments You are bidding for my land Rover that I have owned for several years since Sept 2007 to be more exact. The car is a series 3 rear body tub with Defender front seats, dashboard, wings, headlamps and bonnet. The chassis is a shortened diamond welded Mk1 Discovery and that gives you the benefit of coil spring suspension disc brakes and PAS.Engine is the n/a 2.25 diesel fitted with the LT 77 gearbox. Last year replaced brake discs, pads and calipers along with most of the brake pipes. Two months ago replaced front turrets and shock absorbers and four new tyres. The heater failed for some reason ( quite surprised it lasted that long ) I just fitted a marine bilge blower and works fine although no control over fan speed. The usual rusty corners were removed and quality steel replacements were fitted by a local coachworks, even managed to blend the faded paintwork. The cab has a partial roof lining above the front seats a necessity to remain dry.The oil leak from the crankshaft which has always been there is still there as landy owners will confirm, it's not that bad to be honest. Upgraded headlights and lamps. Also which is not pictured are the rear folding bench seats. Dixon Bate tow hitch. In one of the photos are a few things I was going to fit or replace such as the n/s door top and window runners/headlamp bowls/number plate lamp/rear door check bar/poly bush suspension kit/fuel cap lock and the Mountney steering wheel and boss was fitted but I prefer the standard wheel. The n/s rear as can be seen in the photo's had glancing blow from the quad. strangely no damage to the latter. I have now decided the time has come to reduce my interests in older vehicles as the old age tends to slow you just a bit along with the enthusiasm. My motorhome and the boat ( not to mention the garden bit ) take up a lot of my time so I can see the camper going next. If you have never owned a drafty leaky lots of good motoring now is your chance. Tax exempt and Mot until Jan 2018. Don't take the mileage as accurate as I have no idea which parts have done the distance. Should some fortunate person win this auction and after viewing the car don't like what they see you can walk away as it's not easy buying from a photograph.Don't hesitate to ask any question. Good Luck
The Land Rover Defender is an off-road vehicle produced under this name by the British manufacturer, Land Rover, since 1991. However, the vehicle is the direct heir of the first Land Rover that made its debut in 1948. The first prototype was built by the British automaker in 1947 and it was designed for the army. This iconic car was improved over the years and it has been known for generations as a national treasure.
