1977 LAND ROVER SERIES 3, 2.25 DIESEL, 6 MONTHS MOT, PROJECT NEEDS WORK For Sale £1400

Sellers Comments - 1977 Land rover series 3 2.25 Diesel 6 Months MOT Tidy enough for a land rover which is nearly 40yrs old, engine runs well, but has developed a major problem with the gearbox. It started with just jumping out of reverse and second gear, but has now escalated and has major issues in high box, so its going to need a rebuild/replacement. The chassis has recently had both front dumb irons replaced and a few other areas around the front chassis, although it still requires work mainly to the two front out riggers, but there may be other areas. Iv only had it a few months and if I enjoyed driving it I would do the work, but its just far too agricultural for my liking. All electrics lights, indicators, washers, wipers, horn work - even the cab heater works. Brakes work well. The front seats are tatty, the rear bench seats are ok. Paintwork is poor, bodywork is also as you would expect with dents and dings just about all round. Both front doors and rear door close well on both latches. Wheels and tyres are ok, tyres cracking a little but good tread and no punctures. Footwells have had past repairs, but are quite tidy and strong. Will also be tax exempt from next year. It will start and drive in low box for loading purposes, but cant be driven away with the gearbox as it is, so will need recovering. V5 present and in my name and currently SORN.
