I became the custodian of this wonderful Defender in 2012. Bought to transport a large family but also to handle a certain amount of towing for my work. Its been a wonderful thing! Yes we've had our ups and downs but over 13 years of ownership its definitely more ups than downs.
In 2014 at 99K the Puma threw a big end. Ivor Searle Ltd supplied a new engine and turbo and this was fitted by the local main dealer (£5600) In 2019 the transfer box went kaput and was replaced (£2500). I have done a quick tally of money spent on it over the last 4 years and its in excess of £13K. A lot of this was just lavishing it with goodies but of course its had what it needs when its needed it and has a Full Service History. As you can see its a great looking XS example in Stornaway Grey with Labrador leather trimmed seating and has Defender SVX alloys shoed with Goodyear Wrangler MTR's that are in great shape. The expedition rack has been fantastically useful over the years (particularly driving down to Italy for a holiday!) Obviously for a 13 year old its got the obligatory 'medals of honour' and I've done my best to highlight those dings etc in the pics.
