| ON A MISSION TO ZERO EMISSIONS: LAND ROVER COMMENCES TRIALS OF HYDROGEN FUEL CELL TECHNOLOGY | |
| Jaguar Land Rover is celebrating an important milestone in our journey to achieve zero tailpipe emissions by 2036 and net zero carbon emissions by 2039, with the development of our first hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) prototype. Based on the Land Rover Defender, a team of 53 engineers are working with world‑class research partners to develop a model designed to meet attributes desired by our customers, including long range, quick refill time, advanced towing and off‑road capabilities and low temperature performance. A hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle has the potential to offer greater convenience for drivers by using on‑board hydrogen to generate electricity to power the electric motor, without having to connect to mains power supply. The prototype will begin testing in the UK towards the end of 2021. | | |

| BATTLING THE ELEMENTS: ATHLETES TAKE ON THE WORLD’S TOUGHEST ADVENTURE WITH THE HELP OF DEFENDER | |
| For an event of such extreme endurance, the athletes and crew taking on the extraordinary Red Bull X‑Alps event required a support vehicle with the capability to match. As official vehicle partner, we sent our most unstoppable off‑roader to do the job, delivering a fleet of Defender 110s to provide transport and shelter to competitors across the 12‑day event while carrying vital supplies and equipment. The Red Bull X‑Alps is an extreme endurance race spanning more than 1,200km of demanding alpine landscape. Athletes were challenged to combine hiking, ultra‑running, mountaineering and paragliding in a true test of stamina and resilience via a set of fixed Turnpoints. Kitted with Autohome Roof Tents, Defender provided athletes and crew members a safe and comfortable place to rest and the confidence to negotiate challenging territory, with the world‑first Configurable Terrain Response technology – allowing drivers to fine‑tune the vehicle to suit the conditions. | | |
