Police Range Rover P38 - 1997 4.0 V8 - Greater Manchester Police - Jam Sandwich £5995 ONO

Sellers Cooments 1997 4.0 V8 Auto Range Rover P38 Genuine Greater Manchester Police Motorway Car This wonderful car needs a new home as funds and space are required for my other on going police restoration project. A small fortune has been spent on this P38 at 4W Motors Solihull to ensure that mechanically it really is quite excellent. It has all new air suspension, ball joints, track rod ends, bushes and more underneath. The Auto Box has been serviced and the engine serviced and fettled and is truly superb. It goes like a train and sounds great, as you'd expect a V8 to do. The tyres are brand new, the alloy wheels refurbished, the interior including steering wheel and complete dashboard has been replaced with a clean, fresh one and the headlining is very good indeed. The heated windscreen has been replaced and works a treat. All livery and equipment fitted is to correct period specification, the car retains its calibrated speedometer and the "bells and whistles" do exactly as what you'd expect them to do - I don't think I need to explain! Some kit is, of course, not active such as the radio as you'd expect, the dot matrix requires a handset and the police spec. interior light has yet to be sourced. Whilst beautifully presented as you can see there is, in my somewhat fussy opinion, room for improvement as with any 20 year old car should you so wish - or just enjoy it as it is. The car itself is well known in Range Rover and Classic Police Car circles. It has appeared at the Classic Car Show North West twice and been highly praised - if you do an image search on P572ERJ it has certainly been well photographed over the years that I have owned it. The mileage showing is 108,000 - but this is without any doubt wrong. The MOT expires in late September and the MOT history is available online. A service record from previous civilian owners is not present - which is why I went to town on its servicing! I have the V5 here, it's registered in my name and the car is in storage very near to my home address. The car comes with a "road kit" so that it can be driven legally on the road and all equipment can be isolated quite simply. You are encouraged to view the car, it is located 1 hour from Shrewsbury (A5) and 1 hour 15 minutes from Chester (A55), however I appreciate that in this day and age of the internet this isn't always possible. I welcome any questions and will answer the sensible ones! It will be my absolute pleasure to deliver this car anywhere in the mainland UK for FREE after a sizeable deposit has been received by PayPal or it is paid for in full. The balance will be paid for by direct bank transfer or direct cash deposit, as can the full sum due. I will not accept any other form of payment. This listing is "Buy it Now" or "Best Offer" - please make any offers through eBay. All eBay rules apply and the car is listed elsewhere. (Note to eBay: This car is a vintage vehicle. The livery is no longer in use and all equipment whilst being rendered out of use on sale is none the less obsolete - thank you.)

2006 Land Rover 110 Defender TD5 County Station Wagon CSW 97K MoT 9Seat ExMoD

.Sellers Comments Welcome to my listing for my Ex MoD Land Rover Defender 110 TD5 9 Seat Configuration (Rear Load Seats Removed) First Registered JAN 2006 97K mles. MoT issued 02 Jun 16 and is currently taxed and registered on a civilian number - 55 plate. This vehicle was supplied to the military via Land Rover Special Vehicles as an original Belize Green Station Wagon "S" with a station wagon VIN and has been painted using the standard military NATO green. The outside has been painted but the door shuts, inner wings, interior etc. are still Belize Green so it would be really easy to do a nice simple return to original colour or a more contemporary metallic. Please also be aware this vehicle has fitted with a speed limiter all of it's life and therefore been limited to 40mph - so it's never been thrashed and the engine will probably outlive any other TD5 of a similar age. Although the speed limiter is still fitted it has been reprogrammed to allow it to be driven "normally" now. Since having a new ignition switch/steering lock fitted, as the old one was defective, the engine starts first time on the button and runs nicely (sounds very sweet IMHO). The Landy drives nicely (as much as any Defender) and has what appear to be 4x new Wolf wheels and almost new Michelin XZLs at about £700 value. It's also fitted with a genuine Land Rover "Dixon Bate" style adjustable tow bar mount so you can fit/swap a NATO or 50mm ball easily. The general condition of the Landy is very good but obviously the cosmetics need a bit of attention, or not, depending on your needs! The rear load area seats have been removed but the bars are there to refit them if you want the 9 seat configuration or you could fit 11 seat option. Most panels have a dink, scratch or two but are fundamentally sound and could probably be pressed back into position with the right skills and tools. The notable exceptions being the LHS front inner wing front panel (the bit that holds the headlight) that really could do with replacing and the rear door that has a small hairline crack near the wheel mount that doesn't look too difficult to repair. The bumper is bent but looks like it'll pull straight and I have a used bumper to put on it. The passenger door looks like it has been recently replaced, and is therefore a slightly different colour, but it looks like the wind caught it and wrapped it back on itself. I would expect it's fairly easily fixable. The check strap was broken but I have a new one. Both the bulkhead and chassis seem solid on a cursory inspection (and on the MoT) however as there is some light rust on the RHS bulkhead top hinge but it's early enough to catch it, as is the light rust on the rear bulkhead I would strongly recommend taking some preventitive actions to tidy them up and prevent further development as these vehicles are well known to have soft spots in those particular areas. The marks under the rear doors are just powdery electrlytic surface corrosion that I would expect would buff/rub off - again a common Defender trait although it is perforated slightly and new panels can be picked up on ebay for about £30-40 a PAIR. As mentioned elsewhere the passenger door seems new and the driver's door has just been replaced with a solid used item. The seat squabs have splits in the pictures but I have virtually new replacement dark grey seats that I will include at the BIN price of £9,900. Given that there's another 2006 Ex-MoD Defender 110 station wagon currently on a famous auto-sales web-site at £17K (see last picture) there's a lot of scope here to pick up this TD5 and run it as-is at half the cost or alternatively with a respray (I have had a couple of quotes for specialist Land Rover garages to respray at about £3-4000 - depending on colour etc.) and a bit of TLC on the internals, with the opportunity to double it's value at a fraction of the difference. I am happy to do this myself if it doesnt sell fairly quickly. In fact the only reason I'm selling rather than respraying for myself is after a tough talk with my other half about how many Defenders I have already and I'd rather let the new owner choose whats right for them (also happy to get it done for you if you prefer). The pictures shown are "as-released" without even being washed - so you are literally seeing it at it's worst, with nothing to hide, it's a steal at the starting price and represents a great value light tidy up and respray project to double it's value at the Buy It Now price; the Landy has had an MoT since release and has now undergone the following required items to obtain a ticket; New Brake Pipes - All Round New Rear Brake Pads New Radius Arm Bushes New Ball Joint Gaiter There were a few minor advisories; chaffed seat belts coil springs corroded x4 minor exhaust leak (top section) ...but those items passed anyway - nothing I'd consider sinister or expensive. As mentioned the Landy has had an MoT and the work to get it's ticket has been done so it will be supplied registered with a MoT. In addition we have carried out the following "basic tasks" to make the Landy a bit more reliable/secure; New High Capacity Battery New Steering Lock New Rear Door Lock New Lock Set (same key for ignition and doors) New Drivers Door (Used) New Air Filter New Air Flow Meter New Indicator Assembly (Lucas OEM) Obviously I'll need a deposit from the winner after the auction and would be happier with a quick collection and balance by bank transfer or cash (before releasing the vehicle).

1949 Landrover Series I

Sellers Comments A 1949 Land Rover Series I 80 inch with a canvas tilt, registration number OTW 763, chassis number R8666445, bronze green. Little did Maurice Wilks, Rover's chief designer, know in 1947 when he came up with a plan to design a lightweight all terrain four wheel drive vehicle, inspired by the Willys Jeep, would he create a vehicle which would become an icon. This early lights behind grill example, from the second year of production, is finished in bronze green with a full canvas tilt and recently re-trimmed green vinyl seats. The Landy has been used on a small private estate since 2003 and has been maintained as necessary. The history file contains numerous receipts including repairs to the bulkhead, an engine change as well as general maintenance. Now only for sale due to an impending move, the Land Rover has a lovely used patina and is on the button ready for work. V5C, MOT and tax exempt

Landrover Series 3 1975 Hardtop 88" Petrol

Sellers Comments 1975 Series 3 LandRover Swb,hardtop custom cab,2.25 petrol. This vehicle has only covered 55000 miles from new.The cylinder head has been modified to accept unleaded fuel. It has a standard 4 speed gearbox and no overdrive. It has freewheel hubs.It has just had a full brake overhaul with new master cylinder, brake cylinders, linings and new hoses and pipes where required. A full service has been carried out with new filters and oil. Also had new spark plugs and points. An mot was put on the vehicle in December 2016. The logbook has just returned from DVLA making it a classic vehicle with no road fund tax. Overall this LandRover is excellent for it's age and has many years left for the next owner. The vehicle is located in Penzance,Cornwall. Any inspection is welcome.

Land Rover Series 1 88 for Restoration very straight car, great runner - BAS 852

.
1957 Series 1 88"
Chassis Number 116700191
UK car that would originally of had a diesel in it, they were only produced for 10 months unfortunately it now has a 2250 petrol in it that rune well .

I have the V5 in my name.

The chassis is good original condition but would benefit from x2 new outriggers and some light welding on the back end.

The bulkhead is in not too bad condition. It does have a hole on the left hand side above the vents and is starting to bubble up in places. also the gear box tunnel has a hole in it on the left side .

All the wiring will need looking at as some things are working and some are not. The fuel tank has a leak in it so it has to be run off a temporary one, i do have all the seats for it some where they will be included if i can find them. The car is in need of a master cylinder as there are no brakes on the fut brake just the hand brake.

it is fitted with overdrive, I think it is one of the first to have this as standard, it also has free wheeling hubs and parabolic suspension so drives and rides well for a series 1. there is a spare wheel as well.

Cash on collection. It will need to be trailed away but it will drive on the trailer its self no problem.

Land Rover Series 3 / Defender Hybrid SWB

Sellers Comments You are bidding for my land Rover that I have owned for several years since Sept 2007 to be more exact. The car is a series 3 rear body tub with Defender front seats, dashboard, wings, headlamps and bonnet. The chassis is a shortened diamond welded Mk1 Discovery and that gives you the benefit of coil spring suspension disc brakes and PAS.Engine is the n/a 2.25 diesel fitted with the LT 77 gearbox. Last year replaced brake discs, pads and calipers along with most of the brake pipes. Two months ago replaced front turrets and shock absorbers and four new tyres. The heater failed for some reason ( quite surprised it lasted that long ) I just fitted a marine bilge blower and works fine although no control over fan speed. The usual rusty corners were removed and quality steel replacements were fitted by a local coachworks, even managed to blend the faded paintwork. The cab has a partial roof lining above the front seats a necessity to remain dry.The oil leak from the crankshaft which has always been there is still there as landy owners will confirm, it's not that bad to be honest. Upgraded headlights and lamps. Also which is not pictured are the rear folding bench seats. Dixon Bate tow hitch. In one of the photos are a few things I was going to fit or replace such as the n/s door top and window runners/headlamp bowls/number plate lamp/rear door check bar/poly bush suspension kit/fuel cap lock and the Mountney steering wheel and boss was fitted but I prefer the standard wheel. The n/s rear as can be seen in the photo's had glancing blow from the quad. strangely no damage to the latter. I have now decided the time has come to reduce my interests in older vehicles as the old age tends to slow you just a bit along with the enthusiasm. My motorhome and the boat ( not to mention the garden bit ) take up a lot of my time so I can see the camper going next. If you have never owned a drafty leaky lots of good motoring now is your chance. Tax exempt and Mot until Jan 2018. Don't take the mileage as accurate as I have no idea which parts have done the distance. Should some fortunate person win this auction and after viewing the car don't like what they see you can walk away as it's not easy buying from a photograph.Don't hesitate to ask any question. Good Luck

LAND ROVER SERIES 3, 88, 1972, SOFT TOP, TAX EXEMPT, ROVER 3.5 V8, 4x4 Offroad

.
For sale is my 1972 Series 3 Land Rover which is tax exempt (Historic Vehicle class) with a petrol 3.5 Rover V8 (SD1).

I have not driven it for 6 years now and spent 4 years stored in my garage. I have since purchased a further 2 toys which has now evicted it to the driveway and I no longer have time to use it for what its designed for.

The previous owner had completed a ground up restoration on it and have all photos/dvd of what he had done. It was also featured on the front page of the Land Rover Monthly magazine with an article about it, which I still have.

From memory it has the following;

Suffix D series 3 Gearbox (i think). Yellow and red levers. Also has an overdrive
Kenlowe electric fan (Comes on at certain temp, with a manual override)
New front half shafts
Replaced both diffs for a better ratio
8500lb electric winch run from a separate battery (Has a switch to redirect the charge from alternator to each battery) - I have never used it but was working with remote when I bought the Land Rover.
2 x Cobra bucket seats with custom made Land Rover fabric in front and 4 x fold-up seats in rear each with the same custom made Land Rover fabric
Heavy duty spare wheel carrier on rear door.
I remember that the soft top cover was made from a special type of canvas but do not recall...
Rocky mountain suspension - Leaf springs
4 x driving lamps on roof (detachable)
Snorkel
PA system with aerial
35" Goodyear Wrangler Tyres (35x12.50R15) - Rarely needs to be in 4WD mode with these
Stainless steel twin exhaust system
New Radiator

As already mentioned, I have not driven this since 2011 and has been stored mostly in garage until recently. It ran fine back then and it starts and moves now (Jump started due to old battery), however I will not say its a runner or runs smooth as I don't know and it has no MOT, tax or insurance to test drive. I would therefor treat this as a running project that may need some mechanical work and a good service to be able to drive on the road.

This Land Rover is made for offroading and never let me down for the few times I went green laning and to Salisbury plain. It was a beast of a vehicle with a loud v8 rumble which never got boring to hear. I also used it as a commuter to work in the summer, with drum brakes all round, no power steering and 35" wheels it always kept you on your toes which for me was the best part of driving it.

Things required to fix/fit;

New battery
Hazard lights don't work but individual indicators do work (Possibly flasher unit needs replacing)
Currently the snorkel is not connected to the carbs but I do have the pipe and fittings for it
Paintwork is a bit scabby all round with grazes from trees here and there from green laning
The Kenlowe fan has been taken off to fit the new radiator and was never put back on. I do have new fittings for it though
The grille also needs bolting back on after fitting the fan

Has no MOT, and with no test drive I cannot say its roadworthy so please consider transporting it!

Viewing is highly recommended. Cash on collection is preferred with a £200 deposit through Paypal upon winning the auction.

Any questions please feel free to email...

Good luck and thanks for looking.
