Landrover Series 3 diesel restoration

Up for very reluctant sale is my straight 1978 series 3, 3 bearing 2 1/4 diesel (Rita)., currently requiring re-commissioning. Scruffy but solid. Due to an upcoming change in circumstances I no longer have the space or time to commit to her. It is with great reluctance that I have to let her go.
I have owned this vehicle for the past 5 years and she has spent the majority of that time garaged. Frequently started and moved about to keep the tyres good. I never quite got round to sorting her.
She runs and moves but smokes. The problem is not believed to be the pistons. as the bores are good and the rings in good condition. I now don't have the time to work on her and solve the problem. The other issue is that the headlights have now stopped working.
The chassis and bulkhead/footwells etc are good and strong. There is some surface rust present on the chassis as in photo but this is as said light surface and the metal is very strong.  It needs a wire brush and a good coat of waxoil to obtain many years of future use.
She needs a bit of dedicated work and a fresh coat of paint to get her back up to scratch. Series 3s are steadily increasing in value since defenders ended production and this one will be worth considerable more than the starting price when done. She would suit someone looking for a quick restoration producing a usable and good condition vehicle
With the landy is a collection of parts and engines put together as part of my restoration plan. There is a second 3 bearing engine which requires piston rings and valves reseating. This engine is a valuable source of spares or would make a good spare second engine. There is also another good cylinder head with good valves. Also included is a 19j Sherpa non turbo engine which was sold to me from a reliable source as just needing new oil seals. I obtained the engine in case I wanted to increase the power at a future date. An easy change of engine.
There should be more than enough spares present to finish her and keep her running for years.
Viewing is welcome. Please message me with any questions and to arrange viewings. She is stored at my home garage Foulridge Colne Lancashire. She can be driven onto the drive for a good look around her in daylight. She will need to be collecting by seven days following the auction ending and a trailer will be required. Cash on collection. I will help with any loading. Currently sorn, no mot. log book present and in my name.
Please remember that the auction is for the vehicle, spares and engines. You bid to buy not to view or haggle a lower price. If you wish to leave behind any parts that's fine and I will arrange disposal of what remains as the garage has to be cleared.
